You two are the best xxxxx love the DIY 😂😂😂😂 I felt your pain
Wow that was a fail wasn’t it 😂😅 thanks for being here!!
take off the hinges on the right side get bi fold hinges to put the 2 doors together. attach the handle to the far right to pull or flip the door over? if you dont want to make more holes for handle
Hope this helps, depending on the depth you have available, you could do a 3-track sliding door or a 3-part bi-fold style door, would need to be custom as I don’t see any kits... a tri-fold door?
(or a controversial 3rd option)
Looks like your gap is 1250mm (Pax75 and 50 frame). And to keep the draws available the doors must allow a right opening of 715mm, you could go for bigger doors if you want more overlap (ideally you want them to fill the space and be equal in size), but even 500mm should give enough overlap.
For a sliding door, I’ve used the Ares 2 sliding door kit and it’s easy to use, it uses the same aluminium extrusion throughout, they are built to go back-to-back for 2 tracks, so you just need the right spacing to add a third track, allowing all the doors to move out of the way, but you can buy 2 kits or one large kit and an extra door roller pack. Build the first 2 tracks, measure how far apart then put a third rail that far away.
Melamine coated doors chipboard may weigh less and be better suited for a tri-fold, essentially use a bi-fold kit on the first two doors and then the last door is an extra set of hinges a mag latch on the wall to keep the loose one closed, maybe an extra bi-fold guide, where the hinge joins.
It’s a bit dated…Accordion door?
Thats neat puts my wardrobe to shame 😂im gonna have to go tidy it now 😔😆
Hahah bet yours has doors though 😂😂
@@BethanandJoe actually only one side does the other broke off and is currently slide down the side of it out the way lol
Happening guys!
Could you not use a palm router to route a groove into the backside of the door? To allow the draw to travel through the recess in the back of the door..
Hope this is helpful
We brought a new build which had been previously owned and the builders put wardrobes in .. and I say wardrobes in loose terms .. it had a 2 sliding doors and a rail … that is all. No draws. Me and my partner ripped them out and than tried pax.. but similar to you the space was too small for 100 and 50 wardrobe so we had to carve it up, never looked right and we couldn’t pull out the draws without opening the doors, we have lived with it for 5 years.. and we finally switched to platsa, although not as I’d say good quality as the pax the options are just as good and sizing dimensions are better for newbuild awkward sizes… I swear they do it on purpose 😅 we have had to build a bit for the spaced gap .. but I would recommend considering it…
Alternatively to help the door close have you consider some magnetic push to close parts on the inside of the doors ? To keep them in place?
Ah that’s handy to know we may take a look at theirs!!
Love the vlog Get rid of the draws and get a narrow wire set of three draws and hay presto.or a hammer 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤❤
My husband has said you could put a piano hinge in the middle of the two doors and have sufficient hinges on the left hand door leaving the right hand door unhinged so they open like a bi-fold door giving you access to the drawers. Hope that helps?
That's a great idea!
Ok bifolding doors joe get on google you need a bifold that that is hinged on the left hand side where the smaller wardrobe is it’s the best option and you can still rescue the mdf you already bought and it will do a concertina sort of fold
As your sister… who works as a cabinetry supplier… was watching this entire video saying “the drawers aren’t going to open, the drawers aren’t going to open, the drawers aren’t going to open” 🤣🤣
You needed fillers either side of the wardrobe, with it being flush to the wall you have no space for the door thickness to go when open, even with different hinges!
Especially with handles as well
Where is your lovely zip jumper from please Bethan? Xx
It’s from h&m and linked in my highlights on my insta if that helps ❤️
Yayeeeee❤
Can you cut down the thickness you need on the trouser rail as you pull it out 15-20mm and then you can pull it out
Might be able to! It’s ikea though so might end up breaking it haha
Your SURI discount does not work it shows when you choose the item but at checkout goes to the full price
Bear with us!!! Will contact them ASAP
Does it work now? Xx
Yes perfect thank you
Hmmmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔 maybe the drawers don’t open because the wood you glued to the wall was too thick , ok there’s two solutions either you reverse the big door and put a piece of wood in the middle where the two ikea units meet and hinge the big door off that , or you still do sliding doors but have 3 slim door panels that sit on two or 3 tracks so they all slide back into the smaller space or wait a gosh darn minute a bifolding door so the doors are hinged to each other and not both sides of the wall
Send for your dad Joe xx❤❤
Good idea 😂😂😂
