@@natebeal18 if it was easy to beat anyone (probably including you) wouldnt be losing to it. The question usually isnt how to swing, its when and why to swing
@@atrocioustcg you swing 6. They have to do one of 4 things: Snake Dance and then use a 1K, use a 2K, use an event, or take a life. Regardless you are taking 1-2 cards out of their hand per swing. I've not lost to Nami yet doing this.
he had teach in hand that last turn. so he could've played teach and put law at the top and had 3 extra don to swing with. honestly maybe should've tried to squeeze in teach whenever he got him in hand so that by the end of the game he could've bounced both blockers back to hand
Nami’s position as a deck right now is super odd, you have to swing more because Nami is more aggro but you also don’t want to give them free counter opportunities.
@@atrocioustcgnah swing 6K. Matchup is free. You eat so many cards out of hand. Or they go down to 1-2 life by turn 4. Save your board. They use a white snake and then you keep swinging 6K. They have to use 1 card every turn. If it's an event, you just make them waste a 4K counter for countering out of a same power as their leader attack.
@@natebeal18Exactly this! Namis, myself included, hate the 6k across. My bud that mains smoker can sometimes beat me after I taught him that. Nami is about forcing don trades (ex. Marguerite 3 for jack 7) and making them counter inefficiently/overcounter unintentionally (ex. Gavel on a 6k swing vs 6k leader)
@@atrocioustcgAggro for sure haha I've been counting my win clock, it's 8 turns or less. But doffy is supposed to be more aggro and the player didn't use the jinbe early to create a 'rusher for next turn' and instead curved out sorta like a normal deck and Nami will almost always beat a normally curving deck (aka black lol) with no life tools (banish, dbl) or don/blocker tap Great work btw atrocious, been following since 2023 uta japan win when I was still playing uta so I got rly hyped up haha
I didn’t notice that at first, but that’s a good point! I wonder if, in their testing, 5k bodies -> swing 7 & 6k bodies -> swing 9 was too strenuous of a gameplan in this format
I feel like this was played poorly on both sides. Doffy should have been swinging lower and pumping out more bodies early, and Nami should have gone down to 0 life on doffy’s second last turn so she didn’t have to counter with Kaya and could look to end on the following turn
I mean he had 4 don up & the love love / snake dance in hand that he couldn’t use instead, so I don’t think “bailout” is entirely correct, but yeah the White snake really just wiping the second potential 5k swing so he didn’t have to use more cards for sure was good
@@atrocioustcg I don't think him drawing the white snake made him win or anything, there's very few 3-card combinations (2 in hand + one from life, since Marguerite is known) that can't counter 2 5k's. I'm moreso saying that swinging the 8k and telegraphing that your last 2 swings are 5k's is probably the lowest EV play in that moment due to Doffy's vulnerability to white snake.
Lol, imagine playing the bdif and favored match up but lose to it, regardless of the nami did trigger the all star in life, the nami did not really trigger that much in that game Could have build board and pass turn eary game instead of swinging and not build board Wonder how the doffy got so far, get carried by jinbe
Uhhh well I think he probably just focused a lot more on every other matchup. & he did fill his board pretty quickly, I just think his numbers were slightly off (because of MU inexperience)
Doffy player should’ve easily won this. Focus on filling up your board by turn 3 and just start swinging. Playing that passively first few turns lost them game.
My mindset changed on Nami. Playing with it I don't enjoy it, Yeah it feels Very boring however playing against it, after I really learnt how to win against it, beating a nami player feels godly These day's I Very rarely lose to Nami unless they get sky high luck

@@elevenpiece yeah now I hard disagree lmao, it's obvious person to person but I'd rather fight Nami 200 games in a row with sides of vegapunk or enel than fight black 1 more time. By Luffy is fine however lucci I'm sick of
Apologies that I got the number in deck mixed up! It's actually super hard to keep track of that & commentate at the same time LOL
@@atrocioustcg it's hard enough to keep track of it and play at the same, so I can imagine 🤣
Some of namis biggest strength is still that the opponents refuse to practice the matchup and then it ends up looking like this haha. Nice Video
Could not agree more. It’s a skillcheck deck
But it's so easy to beat. Swing 6 and 9
@ ahhhh I don’t think 6 is that great, but to your point, it’s much easier when you know the matchup

Really nice to edit in the number of cards left in the deck for the Nami match
Thank you!!! I’m going to try to do that every Nami match, especially if I accidentally verbalize wrong :’(
That Impel Down All Stars last life was insane lol
I know!!! Was just the push he needed to close out the match
Love the double white snake but take the damage setup, this was a critical play
I agree!! I think it was really a huge swing that kept him alive for the long con, saved some key counter cards in his hand
That was an awesome game! Great commentary too!! As a Nami fan myself, I definitely appreciate the enthusiasm 😁
I’m glad you enjoyed it!!! I’ll be better on the deck count next time 😂

The 8k on boa + 9k leader kinda sealed the deal early on

Swing 7/9 is the general rule of thumb.
That's what I think too. But I wonder if for Doffy, that's generally too much to invest.
I play Nami, and one time I had all 5 life draw 2 triggers (two Impel down two Pilaf and Spada)
That’s how you win 110% of the time fs
Swing odds on odds and evens on evens. Basically 7,9 on 5 or 8 on 6 lol

With all the draw power Nami is crazy!
I know!!! Especially now with the ability to do so much on your turn it’s nuts. That triple-Kaya turn was HUGE
That was a crazy game
I admit that I was a doubter in that midgame, but he played to his outs & knew the matchup better than his opponent!!

Definitely cringed when he swung that last 8 with weevil. 8 really gets you nowhere compared to 7 and whitesnake just becomes an absolute bailout
