      +dark homespun Thank you so much for watching! Kids have longer legs than dogs (usually) but I think dog sweaters would likely be just fine, so long as you had the length and belly circumference measurements handy!

    Would You be so kind and also show how to do these white stitches between each granny square in this red-green stocking - they look beauty (the green stocking doesnt have them)?
    I wonder what is the exact name of the yarn you have used. :)

      +Maggie Brown Hi Maggie! The link to "Joining Your Granny Squares" is in the description box for this tutorial and I show you 3 different methods (including the single crochet on the red/green/white stocking) for joining your squares :) I used random 4 ply acrylic yarn for both stockings - the sparkly green stuff was a Bernat Holiday brand :)

    Hello I just wanted to say I enjoy your videos. I am having a little problem with doing the border of the stocking half that you already had done... I did the one with you through the video but trying to do the other one backwards is not working out well.... I am trying to make the outside of the stocking the same

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kathy, all the corners are treated the same, and so are the stitches and chains...no matter what direction you're going in. If you find that the front and back aren't lining up perfectly, just cheat where you need to :) Little tiny errors won't show!

I love your granny square ideas and tutorials and I was hoping you could help me with a granny square project I want to make, I am trying to learn how to make the granny squares that look like they start in the corner instead of the middle and just don't understand how to get the effect, do you know how to make these and can give me some tips, or an idea of how to find a good tutorial to making them. Thank you very much

    Hi I followed your video on how to make a granny square stocking but I made a hug mistake somewhere in the video and have almost 3d stocking not sure what I did wrong.

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jeannie! There are 2 sides to the stocking and 8 granny squares. Assuming that your granny squares are square ;), you want to first join 4 in an L shape and then the other 4 in a J shape (or the exact reverse of the first side you made). If crocheting around the outer edge of these 2 sides is tricky, feel free to sew them together (just use the whip stitch or overcast stitch) first and then crochet over top of that to make the edging look a little nicer :)

    • @houghtonjeannie
      @houghtonjeannie 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I took it all apart and done 6 each side and forgot the toes.

  • @Winefred213
    @Winefred213 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this video is 5 years old but I just got a request to make someone a vintage granny square stocking with rounded toe BUT they want the toe part to have extra stitching so that I can add embroidery to it and also the top part to be bigger to embroider a child’s name. So I need the top border bigger to add a name and the toe border bigger to add (I think the year the child was born).
    So my question is after I do the joining with single crochet and such…how to I go about making the toe part of the border bigger and the top part of the border bigger so I can have enough room to add embroidery work?? Please help!!

      Hi Aileen, you could, technically, wear these but there's a seam running right down the underside of the sole, so that might not be too comfortable! Perhaps if you sewed them together rather than crochet :)
