That was a dark ending...but it was expected.. Unpopular opinion...I actually like the way the girl speaks...it was really good with the games ambience! :)
I knew what it was about after I saw the Queen of Spades and the children, hiding under dirty, old cloths. I cried my eyes out... as a German, this hit me hard. We do talk about this particular chapter in our past a lot, which is important. Through understanding, through real stories, through stories like this we (hopefully) take care that this will NEVER happen again. I felt desperately sad in a strange way and cried my eyes out. As always, CJU, I appreciate your work. You treated this game with a lot of respect. Especially towards the end. Great game!
The first few episodes had me wondering what the 'Never Again' in the title referred to. I think that's the effect the creators went for here, to have the player step into that forest as the sheer scope of the truth hits them. The ending, though... that's just brutal. Thank you so much for playing through this game for us, Chris.
I only wished this game were longer. Thank you for playing it, my great aunt is a holocaust survivor; it means a lot to me to see these stories retold.

My great aunt’s name is Wally and she’s now nearly 90 years; she was on the train to Auschwitz before the Jews were liberated. She never was actually in the camp, but she rode on the train to Auschwitz, & when everyone was freed, she was still waiting on the train to go in. You really think someone would lie about a relative being part of the holocaust? For what fucking reason? Or are you just one of those holocaust deniers? Either way, that’s pretty repulsive. The holocaust is NOT something to joke about!
About the father... Was he a scientist being recruited? I wonder if he had taken the offer, since if he had it would have been a devastating realisation for him. Really enjoyed the game. I think I realised it around the time the letter of the father was found, something about it feels sketchy.
That's funny. at about 3 minutes he comes up to the green empty gas cans that say "gift gas" on them. I just learned the other day that in the Swedish language the word gift means poison. So essentially those can say poison gas zyklon. That's crazy how this game progressed I didn't even put it all together to the end great video man

'Slow burn.' That's an unfortunate choice of phrasing. I know it wasn't intentional though. This was strangely beautiful, given its subject matter. Morose, heavy, melancholic, quite a powerful little game. The ending made me feel desperately sad.
A very sad but beautiful end to the game. Wasn't expecting the reveal since I was oblivious to the clues until you pointed them out. Can't wait to see what you play next, well done!

You shouldn't assume what people are saying to be an exaggeration or misinformation just because you or others you know haven't experienced it. I have seen people posting their opinions all over different social media their saying it never happened, that it's a hoax and you can tell when people mean what they say by their past expressions and how they argue their beliefs.
As soon as I saw the shoes in part one I thought of the holocaust. I've been to both Treblinka and Auschwits and seen the room/s filled with shoes, and a lot of the small details in the game really made my mind go that route throughout the game. It was a good game with an interesting, and not overly preachy, approach to the subject. I like how they slowly introduced it instead of bashing the message into our heads from the get-go. The best part for me was the Queen of Spades section. It gave me so much anxiety whenever the monster would come close, and I was literally jumping in my seat. Thanks for playing!
I never thought that I'd be taken on a journey to such a real and horrific event, via a video game. This was less of a game and more of a mental and educational insight on just how horrible the Holocaust really was. Seeing it through the eyes of an innocent child intensified those evil moments. Bravo to this game, what an experience!
Man, I just knew what this was about as soon as I saw all the shoes at the start. Then all the shoes in the forest, Poland's crooked forest..... ugh... so sad
In the same league as Anne Frank ; excellent and essential for all generations to know ( but oh so sad .. ) I twigged when we saw all the shoes in the house drawers and then the hair brushes.. thanks for playing this , Chris..
This game was such a surprise, I really loved watching you play it. I had no idea what I was in for, the game did an excellent job setting everything up and the reveal was done very well. Definitely going to recommend the game and this playthrough. See you in the next one.

This went from panic-inducing to tragic. Just seeing the silhouettes of the prisoners and the rows of bunk beds reminded me of my visit in Auschwitz. Its past remnants and the feel of the place was heart-wrenching. Still, I've enjoyed what this game had to offer in terms of its mechanic, symbolism, and narrative.
Superb. Thanks for doing this one. Gotta say the scary was the first time I've been legit scared by a horror game in aeons and the Holocaust twist managed to be one of few times since The Last Of Us and Life Is Strange that a game had an emotional effect on me as well.
I remember holocaust survivors visiting my school and telling their story. Monsters are real and their actions shall never be repeated and the victims stories shall never be forgotten. excited for next LP.

Good game despite the extremely depressing and sad ending but was very different and they did a very good job! I knew she was dead after the second video just didn't realize how she died.

This made me search a full walk through WITH SECRETS I get so mad at CJU when he just gives up on these things, and doesn't even try to find secrets once presented that option. I love his channel, just wish he'd re-upload a new one, with secrets (even if he has to look it up to locate them, there's no shame in that...) Anyway, jmo....
Never Again. How very apposite. Your enumeration of the clues throughout the game: the shoes, combs, and the dress of the Queen...The tank through the wall!...it all just hit me as you spoke. Interesting emotional ride upon having that realisation....we are still on the journey of "unconditional love for all things great and small," but maybe one day. Namaste.
Well, I enjoyed the game itself (though I have to admit, I hate slide puzzles), but the ending was pretty miserable for what it was about. You said it, very dour, sad and depressing. Still, I appreciate what went into it and it was fun otherwise. I had thought about the Nazis when the "men" came to her father and he was upset with them. Did *not* even cross my mind that they could be taken away to a camp themselves. Wasn't until the forest and the train, I really clued in on that. Even the Queen of Spades didn't clue me in (except I thought her uniform and manner of walking was rather odd). Well done. Effective way to tell the story. Pity it couldn't have been longer. I liked how it was presented to us though. From the demo, I was hoping we would get to see the full game. Thank you for playing it.
Just a thought but maybe the drawers and stuff were stiff because they haven't been used in a long time or maybe it is just something they need to fix.

its possible to guess the truth before part 3? i felt it came out of no where. sure at part one i expected the entire family to be dead. but military,prison camps...yeah. completely unexpected.
I just realized it when I saw the fence. This game makes me wanna play CoD2, Medal of Honor or even Sniper Elite, just to alleviate the heavy feels from this. Nowadays, looking back when I did play CoD2...I am very thankful that I did not get to experience such hard times. I really hope it really never happens again.
