I would not consider any cruise now because the cruise companies continue with the practice of medical fascism fully knowing that none of the "measures" they require work ("vaccines", masks and tests).
We sailed on the Octantis this past September as the ship transitioned from the Great to the Eastern Caribbean. It was a fantastic cruise, and the ship and staff were amazing! The opportunity to dive in one of the submarines (at no extra cost!) was the highlight of the trip. I would highly recommend cruisers check out one of these excursion ships.
Wonderful video I've been holding off on watching, since I just cruised this ship from Toronto to Milwaukee (Niagara and the Great Lakes). I agree wholeheartedly with your findings! We have never been treated so well ever, on any vacation in our lives. The ship was amazing, warm, comfortable, the staff helpful and kind, and we were made to feel special. We had a Deluxe Nordic Balcony which gave us plenty of space. Loved The Hide and the expedition stories at night, and the Aquavit Bar was a favorite spot. We like cocktails so sprung for the Silver Spirit package, well worth it. The submersibles were not used as we were in US waters most of the trip, although the Thunder Bay to Milwaukee cruise does use them in Lake Superior and Georgian Bay. I can't recommend this ship enough, and I will cruise on her or her sister Polaris again.
We are booked on this cruise for our honeymoon in October sailing from New York to Barbados. Struggling to decide which trips to do. Are there any must dos in your opinion?
Excellent video. Top notch, in fact. These are not cheap cruises… Make your own waffles? 😀 They are now doing some cruises in our neck of the woods. Michel and Judy, Toronto.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 Will they still charge for trips to Antarctica? Once you're down there, you can't just walk off the ship and wander around a town because there are none down there.
They have complimentary wi-fi on all of their ships/boats. With that being said, it may not always be the best depending on how good the internet is in certain parts of the world.
@@GisbornePeak We paid about $6,200 per person for seven night Great Lakes and 100% agree, absolutely worth it. You totally get what you pay for! We're not wealthy, either - just good savers and don't carry debt.
Great question. They do not have a formal tea service. But there is 24 hour coffee and tea and the buffet has plenty of snacks. So you can make your own tea time!
Would you consider taking an expedition cruise? Have you cruised with Viking before?
We are booked to sail out of Milwaukee on the Octantis on 21 May. Can't wait. A Great Lakes Cruise should be pretty relaxing I think.
I’ve been on Viking River Cruises in the past and I’ve really enjoyed them. I would like to try one of their expedition cruises at least once.

@@GisbornePeak you think you can sneak me onboard? I only live a little over an hour away from Milwaukee haha.
I would love to, but I can't really justify spending $15,000 to $30,000 for one person....
Going on Octantis this December to Antarctica! Can’t wait!
Have a great cruise.
Looks great. All I need now, is money.
The ship was amazing, thanks for watching.

I truly enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing!!
Glad you enjoyed the video.
so what is it like crossing Drake's Passage in this ship?

Another great video Don! You are on a roll!!!!
An hour and a half for fine dining is what it's supposed to take... If you want fast food sail on a cruise ship that has a McDonalds!
Don’t expect cruisers to understand that. They are low class people who think their cruises aren’t low class.
When you take a zodiac from Viking Expedition ships, do they give you walking sticks when you land, or do you carry them from the ship? Thank you!
If a person wanted to use the pool at night, is that something available to a guest?
Interesting video on a beautiful ship but not in our price range, and we like a livelier vibe and late night pizza! Thanks for showing us the ship!
You’re very welcome. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review. Yes, these ships are pricey, but offer an amazing experience.
How do you book the submarine?
Great overview of these new ships! We are active cruisers on Viking.
How expensive is the submarine ride? Let me brace myself!
Glad you enjoyed the review. Actually, the submarine rides are currently complimentary. But, that will be changing, lol.

now advertised at $499
Was this cruise at a discount or comped for content creators or by invitation from Viking?
Does the ship offer wi-fi? Is it necessary to bring our own laptop?
They have complimentary wi-fi on all of their ships/boats. With that being said, it may not always be the best depending on how good the internet is in certain parts of the world.
Hi Don, what would someone be expected to pay for the trip as shown in the video? A beautiful ship, and well shot. Many thanks for the review!
We are paying close to $10,000 per person for a seven night cruise. Expensive and I trust it will be worth it.
You can check all the price on their website

Wait wait wait. They serve rum punch, but also explicitly say "no umbrella drinks?" Pick a lane, Viking!
Is there vegetarian options in meal times?
Yes, absolutely loads
I did this exact trip last year
is it allowed to urinate on the cabin corridors?
Do the expedition ships have afternoon tea like the ocean ships?
Great question. They do not have a formal tea service. But there is 24 hour coffee and tea and the buffet has plenty of snacks. So you can make your own tea time!
