I just watched “Black Sky” of NCIS and got to admit, Ducky was the Awesome Duck 🦆! Would’ve been sweet to see Robert Vaughn and David McCullam together again in an NCIS episode together as a duplicate double agent. Ducky meets his Russian double.
@@lawnmowermanTXReminds me of when McCallum and Vaughn appeared together on "The A-Team". Saw it for the first time as a rerun in 2009 after being a regular NCIS viewer for years. As a result, the McCallum character seemed like a transition between Ilya Kuriyakin (he was a Russian agent) and Ducky (wore glasses and a bow tie).
Yes getting old sucks as time does not stand still, but we have to remember that every ending is simply a new beginning, as one of my fave shows says to quote greys anatomy the carousel never stops turning
Awhhh Ducky I’m so saddened to learn of your passing. Thank you for being the ultimate gentleman, talented actor, but most of all - such a good family man and role model! Prayers for your family. Rest In Peace
You’re such a dear gentleman. You’ll be truly missed thanks for all the wonderful episodes. And being a consistent role model for anyone to follow. RIP.
Sadly, I noticed that too. Even so, Ducky will forever live in our hearts and memories. He was a sage if ever there was one, and he will be missed by many!
He sounded quite tired by then. I noticed that in his podcasts that his energy was low too. My mother had a stroke at 80 and her energy and voice weren't the same anymore. RIP, David. I'll miss you along with your many other fans!
Goodbye and RIP, David/Duckie. I have enjoyed watching you since I was a little kid in the early 1960s. Whether your were playing the evolving lab subject north of England character in Outer Limits’ The Sixth Finger, playing Ilya Kuriakin across from Robert Vaughn’s Napoleon Solo in Man From U.N.C.L.E., or Ducky in NCIS, your superb acting has never failed to impress me. Thank you for the many decades of joy and entertainment you have brought to us fans.
I'm currently rewatching NCIS from the beginning, I'm up to season 5. To see this clip by comparison is a real shock. Seeing someone ageing really does make you aware of your own mortality. RIP David.
I have never seen NCIS, but i have seen David McCallum as Harold Bride in the movie a night to remember (1958) as Lt Cmdr Eric Ashley Pitt in the movie the Great Escape (1963), and heard him as the narrator of the television movie documentary titanic the complete story (1994). Rest in Peace Mr David McCallum.
They better give him a major send off when the next season starts. Gibbs, Tony, Ziva, and Abby better be at that funeral. We better be either seeing Gibbs or Jimmy doing the speech.
There will be. It was confirmed that the second episode of the 21st Season will be completely about the death of Ducky. What I particularly like is that Brian Dietzen, the actor of Jimmy Palmer, will write the episode😊
you could almost feel it the way he's talking...its sad every time i see it he and Gibbs made NCIS i know t why i started watching his old world charm matched with Gibb's strong as a mountain of a man presence
Palmer may have big shoes to fill, but as Ducky said, "I trust you will carry on when I'm gone." Also, Brian Dietzen co-wrote the script for David's tribute episode.
When I saw this scene when it aired, I noticed clearly that something was not right with David McCallum. It was a surprise to hear of his death and it was saddening that I notice this in this clip as I though he had a stroke etc.
R.I.P David aka Steele and Ducky. You bought me joy from sapphire and steele and all the way through NCIS. You will leave a huge hole in the acting hall of fame ❤
When I was in my late teens I saw David in that movie about the dambusters. I still remember that I laughed about that actor with his strange blonde haircut and that "stylish" moonface. I sorted out later that this actor was David McCallum. So I was surprised when I first saw NCIS that in the cast THIS actor was part of it. His way to act and his kind of humor which I believe isn't lost in translation to german, made him to my personal main character beside Gibbs, Tony and Abby. The good die young - the best stay forever! See u in heaven Ducky
Loved you from the first time I saw you in the very first Titanic movie then loved it when I saw you on murder she wrote then on to the best of them all NCIS. You will be missed😢
My father introduced me to him on "A Night to Remember" too. He later asked "why Harold Bride was now a UNCLE agent in a day show?" one day. I knew he was teasing me and almost ignored him, but watched it with him anyway. Glad I did abd got hooked on David, "MFU". He used the 2 actors-Wm. Shatner and Leonard Nimoy on 'The Project Strigas Affair' to watch a new programme a year later. The "UNCLE" agent became the starship Captain Kirk and the THRUSH agent , his Vulcan First Officer, Mr. Spock. I was glad to later all 3 eventually. I met David after his performances in a couple of plays in Atlanta in '76 and '78. He was most kind and so multi-talented. Hopefully, my father will be looking David up to play golf somewhere or discuss movies we'd seen him in as well.
The messed up thing with Fornell is that he & Gibbs didn't know each other in the first episode, but later in the series it was established that Gibbs had warned Fornell about marrying Diane with whom he had a daughter who was an adult well before Gibbs left the series.
All of ya’all’s sweet words to Dr. MALARD , “Ducky” have been so sweet to read . I agree with nearly everything said. But I was introduced to him in “ The Man From Uncle” He was the second man I ever loved. I will not even try to spell his characters name but , those dreamy eyes, those golden locks, and that knowing smile. A lot like Gibbs when he lets you know ,he has you! Forever in my heart dear one.
Veo esta serie casi desde que tengo memoria, casi 18 años viéndolo en la TV, todas las semanas, era imposible no encariñarse así como era imposible que no me doliese su muerte. Doctor Mallard, Ducky, David, gracias por todo…
B look ess him you could see he wasnt Right, a True Professional , Career going back to the 50s , certainly the 60s, for Film & TV Programs Series.....one of his best two IMO The Great Escape , nick name " Dispersal" & The Mosquito Squadron .....RIP David
I.believe that is his current wife. They’ve been married since he and Jill divorced. In the 60’s I think. No disrespect but I doubt it would be a picture of Jill.
RIP to you David. The man behind Donald "Ducky" Mallard. Our favourite medical examiner. Aside from the link to Disney's Donald, the moniker couldn't be more appropriate, as Ducky's surname is a particular species of duck. May you be resting peacefully, for you, Ducky, showed us that those who are gone do speak to us, all we have to do is listen.
He might have been fighting for his life but boy, looks wise, he still looked fantastic for being 90 years of age. Luck of the genes, I guess. He was the heartthrob of many in the mid-60's when I was growing up. Ilya was super "cool" to me (and all the women, too).
I enjoyed Ducky's goodbye, however, I was disappointed, especially, that Gibbs, and Abby did not make an appearance! At least Tony showed. As far as that goes, what happened to the others that worked with Ducky; Bishop, Ziva, Sloan, and many others. Maybe they were invited and declined; Maybe they weren't invited? I remember him in Man from U.N.C.L.E., I watched it in the first run season.
I'd rather have attended an autopsy with David, who could actually do one, than see Jimmy do it on Ducky. I guess it comes with watching "Quincy", and reading the "Bones" and Kay Scarpetta series of books, but I was more interested in going into the in special education, all because I had special friends and because I saw David in "Teacher, Teacher" in '69. He should've won an Emmy for his performance as Hamilton Cade!
Poor David sounds so weak. You can hear him struggling to get the words out. A fighter to the end ❤️
“Ducky, good to see you again.”
“Likewise, I just wish it wasn’t under these circumstances.”
“You and me both.”
That part hits different now

RIP David McCallum he is going to be miss forever with his family and friend today of his age 90 year's old :( :( :(
This getting old stuff SUCKS. All my favorite actors and musicians are kicking the bucket.
Thanks for sticking around as long as you did
Mr. McCallum.
It's a terrible loss but that's the magic of tv and movies the actors may be gone but their work and in a way them shall live in forever

That's McGee, he's introduced in 1x07 and Palmer's introduced in 1x21.
