Thank you very much. My plate is full with projects but I have decided to take on Darktable anyway 🙂. I was scratching my head trying to import entire top directories etc. This video and I'm sure more in your library are just what I need/ed to ground me and help me along.
Fantastic Stefano. I have been thinking of making the change to Darkroom a few times in the past. This is an excellent resource. Thanks mate, keep up the good work.
Cheers John, really appreciated. Trying my best :) Darktable is not as complicated as many people say, believe you me. Maybe these people are sponsored by Adobe LOL
Thank you very much for all your videos that are very usefull to me :) I followed your method and it worked perfectly but I have a weird problem: the imported photos are very dark on DarkTable compared to what they look like in Lightroom right after importation. Where does this could come from?
This is an excellent tutorial, thanks! Q: Can I import all my the photos which are spread over many folders at once? I can't seem to find a way to that. Like in your video it seems you have to drill down to a folder with images. If that is the only way it will take ages and I'll need to recreate my folder structure. This seems a pain so hoping you have a solution. Thank you!
@@frumiousgaming No, I quickly gave up though! I tried a few others and have purchased Capture One on sale so going to learn and stick to it. I was able to import everything fine with C1 :)
@@frumiousgaming I was exactly the same. I've been without photo editing software for ages. It's frustrating. So yeah, with 30% off recently I decided to go for C1. So far so good, but it'll be a learning experience as I was very comfortable with LR.

Very helpful.
Thank you Stefano. I will try it out today.
No worries. Let me know how did it go👍👍
Very smart, thank you
Cheers buddy😁🙏
5:32 that's other difference to darktable, with it the metadata is always saved in a sidecar file independently of the format.

are the edits also imported?
Not all of them, just because the tools work in different ways
Are the virtual copies exported?
This is an excellent tutorial, thanks!

@@danneukirch4486 cool, fair enough! I’m a bit stuck in the Adobe cloud and want to escape as cheaply as possible
