That'd be cool to see, but I think their styles would clash too much. Nolan makes serious neo-noir thrillers whereas Wright makes tongue-in-cheek satirical action-comedies. They're absolute brilliant directors but they're on complete opposite ends of the spectrum. It'd be like Stanley Kubrick collaborating with Mel Brooks.

Surely the planning of the visual components to the music would be the same as when Edgar Wright's directed music videos? The main difference would be that Baby Driver's through story is the parameter in which these have to play out in, but apart from that. On that basis I'd imagine the script development of BD would have been not as difficult as it might seem initially.

There is a long series of them on iTunes ,and maybe TH-cam, through the Directors Guild of America, or DGA. Type that in something should pop up, I follow it on iTunes and it's really cool to hear so many directors exchanging experiences. This one, the one for the Hateful Eight, and for La La Land were exceptional. I hope that was helpful!

There are. This is part of Directors Guild of America conversations, and you can find a bunch of them on their youtube page, but this one was done as a podcast, so it's audio only & isn't on their page, so I uploaded it.

For me the Cornetto Trilogy is just a double feature. The World’s End is not good. Only one of Edgar’s films I don’t like.

Loved the Cornetto trilogy, loved Scott Pilgrim, didn't like Baby Driver. The music went into overkill, which is a shame since the car chase at the beginning, the change from car to foot chase and the ending when Jon Hamn and Baby resolve their differences (I know, I'm being sarcastic) are fantastic, but I found the soundtrack to be distracting.

I love Edgar Wright but was pretty disapointed with Baby Driver. Its like the scene in Gone in 60 seconds where Nicholas Cage listens to a song with his gang before going on a crime spree stretched over a whole movie. Also the romantic sub plot was pretty weak.

colinthedogfromspaced xD xD Im not negative person dude Im just objective person. By the way Hot Fuzz and Scott P. vs World not sucks but not great. These are good cinematography but something missing. :/ And I think, missing thing is Jessica Hynes!!! I mean strong, funny, sempatic, and charming women character!! :)) Respect from İstanbul, Turkiye. You know, green eggs country (Spaced reference) ;D

@There can be Only One Potato: I would disagree. Being hyped or being skeptical shows that I care about the medium. Sometimes I want to see something without any expectations though. In that case I start watching a movie or a show without knowing anything about it besides title and cover :)

What a shame. If this was a real podcast we would have heard Nolan ask all the questions he brought to the interview. Should have been 2hrs long.
