Yes, but where does all the slag/chips go?

Usually while I'm working I'll blow them off and the dross ends up on the floor. At the end of the day I sweep up everything. I have to do a lot of grinding and dross removal before welding so there is grinding dust and dross everywhere anyway. If the shop was already clean I would blow them off in the large steel drum I use as a trash can.

Shunt the magnet first with a thick piece of steel to make it weaker.

Duct tape for small jobs. Dab it and toss it.
