STRANDED ON A CAPE YORK ISLAND! - Fishing and camping on Restoration Island

- In this episode, the boys are on Restoration Island just off the coast from Portland Roads, Chilli Beach and Lockhart River. They spend the morning trying to fix an issue with the outboard so they can get offshore and go fishing. While they wait for the tide to come in to test if they fixed the boat they fish from the rocks, search for some items buried by the last cyclone and enjoy some freshly husked coconuts. Not sure about you but to us that sounds like the perfect day stranded on a tropical island!!

10:31 I remember watching The Bush Tucker Man when he was on Restoration Island and he mentioned that the oysters there were known to be higher than average in iodine. The coconut trees are also normally found there but were planted back in the day of sailing ships to help stranded sailors survive.
That doesn't sound great... We're still alive so cant be too bad I suppose 😂
Yeh there are heaps of coconut trees. Dave has also planted and allowed a lot more to grow over the years
Not enough iodine to kill you (unless you have an allergy I guess) but enough that if you had a fungal infection, a shucked oyster on your toe would help clear it up (basically Les Hiddens words).

lol don't these new mercury engines have a ECU these days ?? it's probably in limp mode hahaha great video!
Spot on mate!! It went into limp mode because the trim sensor was reading backwards. I can understand limp modes because of temperatures and low oil etc but one on the trim seems pointless and can only cause problems it think.

😂😂😂 We knew it wouldn't take the Yamaha crew long to find this!!
We cant fault the mercury yet... 🤞 This was human error caused by putting a part on backward after servicing the trim motor. I do think that putting the motor into limp mode because the trim sensor isn't working is a terrible "feature" though.
