For those of us here with human lifespans, allow me to save you six minutes of that time: The M2 can be charged with either the MagSafe or USB-C port, and can be charged with any Mac Power Adapter, no matter the wattage, although charging will take longer with low wattage adapters like the 5W phone adapter.
@@Xi360 the fastest the m2 will charge is known as the "fast charge" feature, and it will work with any USB-C type power adapter over 67W. How much over 67W does not matter. There is no advantage to using a USB TYPE C adapter in excess of 67W.
it might damage the mac specially if it high watt gan charger. and also 90% of the times it shows on the top right that its charging but when you click on it it says battery not charging.
is safe charge Mac with a normal power bank? I wrote to apple who told me that it is harmful to the health of the mac but and to only use their products I think they only do it to sell more. thank you
Thank you! Hopefully, this year, the new iPhone will also be USB-C this way we can charge everything with ONE cable! En passant, j'ai une question... est-tu Québécois?
@@TricksTipsFix I tried. If the cable comes with Mac it works, if it is old style (big black box USB-C charger that came with HP laptop) it does not work (the Mac says it is not charging). When I switched to USB-C that came with I think iPhone it does work, but it is a bit slow charging. Apple is very strict about only using their own sanctioned hardware. Thank god they have not forced us to use a specific frequency of electricity (say 135 HZ) and attempted to sell 60 HZ or 50 HZ AC to 135 HZ ac adaptors 😀
Can you charge with MagSafe port and usb type c port at the same time? I am just wondering if I use a usb c hub which also needs power and supports charging through the hub as well. If only one of them works, then which one is actually charging the MacBook?
you can't charge simultaneously via MagSafe and USB-C. Typically, the USB-C hub takes priority for charging, meaning it will charge your device while connected, while the MagSafe port remains inactive during that time.
I have a question. I bought a macbook air a2681 and i didnt have a charger. The battery is now depleted and wont light up at all now. You said i can use the usb C port to charge it up. How do i know its charging when doing this i dont see a battery symbol on the screen due to battery power level being so low. Should i see the battery symbol when im charging it when power is off. How long should this take to at least have enough power to turn it on. Any ideas. I was on Amazon and seen the maglink charger for £30 and on the Apple website they are £50. Do you know if the cheaper ones are worth buying or should i stick with genuine Apple store. Although this is meant to be Apple store in Amazon lol. Thanks for your video. Great explanation. Very clear and exact. Great work buddy
I've had the charger in C port and now after 30 minutes I see the battery symbol in the centre of the screen so I guess I answered that part of the question. I still would like an answer to buying the maglink charger part thanks!!!
Thanks for the informative video, just one question - will charging via the USB-C degrade the battery life faster than using a MagSafe over a few years?
I wish I would know but I don’t. One thing I have noticed is that my usb c port has some tiny paint chips. It seems that the black coating is not thick.
THANK YOU bro! Thank you profoundly. You are the man! It worked perfectly. I hope its not going to cause any damage, bought the Mac a week ago, no guarantee. Lol

Apple has a 140w charger that you can also use for MacBook Air M2. Acc to apple, it’s compatible as well, not just the 67w charger.
People saying it max at 67W even if you can use 140W. What's you experience?

Can you charge through two or even three ports at the same time, i.e. two 30 watt chargers or three 10 watt chargers simultaneously?

Is there any way to not charge the MacBook and just use an AC power adapter that’s permanently plugged in

Sure it can if it’s USB-C.
