Harbor Freight has some nylon trim tools that helped me. Inexpensive. Nice 55 buddy.

Nice job putting in the windshield by yourself. When I did mine I was having trouble had to go get the wifey for some help lol. You have a great looking 55 good luck with it.

Nice work on that. Think I'll still take mine down the road to the professional. Figure I'd make a mess.

Thanks. It wasn't to bad at all. Just takes a little time and patience. Thanks for watching.

My son & I redone his 55 3100 pu, replaced all the glass our selves, but called in the pro on the windshield & new rubber ! Didn't need nor want a 400.00 fowl on that ! 😂👍🏻

Putting in new windshields can be a little tricky sometimes, especially with the ones that have wrap-around sides.

Nice job. I have a 57 2-door hardtop that I will need to install the glass but I will try to have one helper which will make it go much easier. One tip I can offer is to buy a pair of suction cup glass handlers, cheap at Harbor Freight, which make setting the glass in place plus moving it around so much easier.

Thanks sarjag97 for watching. I hope this video has given you some tips. Two people would make the job a little easier for sure. I have a set of suction cups that came from HF but I don't really trust them due to the angle and weight of the windows. I have used them in the past and the cups popped off unexpectedly. You really don't want to drop the expensive glass on your car or the floor. Good luck with your 57 Chevy.

This video give's me confidence that I can do it myself. Do you have a video with you installing the stainless trim piece around the bottom of the window?

One man crew, very nice. What brand windshield rubber did you use? I’m looking for a driver door mirror used quality. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks David. The brand of window weatherstrip was from "Original Equipment Performance". It seemed to work well. There's only a groove for the upper part of the weatherstrip for the molding. Some weatherstripping has the groove around the entire perimeter.
I would check with Danchuk, or Classic Industries, or check with groups on Facebook or Facebook Marketplace for parts that you are looking for. There's also a guy in Delaware that has tons of tri-five stuff. He's on Facebook Marketplace "Jay Hammond"
