    Just started watching you on TH-cam! I got a dehydrater for christmas a few years ago. I never knew you could dehydrate soo much!! Thank you. I has some frozen strawberries in my freezer got them out dehydrated them and then turned them into powder!! Put them on pancakes and my kids and husband LOVED them.

    I live in northern Missouri and the 1st year my cherry tree produced. I know nothing about preparing. I feel awful as I don't have enough time to save all that are on the tree . Now to find the 6 pitted and save all I can. Thank you for a good view of a way to get the most out of my favorite pie CHERRY. Fresh im excited. Wish me luck im a guy who likes to do whatever I can to get the job done.

    My husband and I have been eating so many cherries lately. I just bought a dehydrator and I really want to dehydrate some of them. I would prefer the Leifheit Pitter. I think I could get a lot more done and in a quicker time. Thank you for giving these gifts out to your readers. That is very sweet. I have been following you but I never subscribed so I am now a new subscriber.

    Picked cherries for the first time and spent hours pitting by hand. It was time well spent as we'll enjoy them this winter. I'm liking the progressive for our needs next year. How kind of you to do this during the pandemic! Thank you!

I also liked how it was in a real life situation not a commercial where everything works perfect..... Keep up the great work..... I bought the Progessive just before cherry season to use this year. Worked great, never had a cherry get stuck in the top like you did. Rarely did a pit stay in the cherry and they were easy to find because I halved them to dehydrate. Made cherry season so much easier

    • @ThePurposefulPantry
      @ThePurposefulPantry  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like I said, I''m thinking it's because the hinge on mine isn't working properly, so not popping out the cherries all the time. But it still makes the job easier than doing it by hand.

    Laugh all you want... I use a straw and push the pit out. I’ve gotten pretty fast.
    My straw doesn’t care how big or small the cherry is, not much mess. It’s quite relaxing to do a quart or 2 at a time.

    Thanks for the heads up! I’ve bought a single cherry pitter many years ago and I used it once. I find that using a knife was much faster than the single pitter! Definitely not a wise purchase. I would pick the progressive after watching that. Funny thing is I was just looking at cherry pitters 2 days ago. I had made a 1 pound batch of fermented cherries after reading your 25 ways to preserve cherries. I'd have done the honey jam but I had just used all my honey to ferment garlic last week. After seeing this though. I think I will opt to not buy any and I'll just use a stainless steel straw and find something similar to a soda bottle. My cherries were massive I don't know if either of those pitters would have worked. I quartered my cherries to ferment them.

    Thanks for the video. I appreciate that is was a "real life" presentation. Thanks too for the giveaway, would love either but the larger one would suit me best.

    The Prepworks (Progressive) seems the best choice out of the two, but neither one is that impressive. I was hoping the Leifheit one would be able to do a large quantity quickly and without so much hassle. Thank you for the reviews - very helpful.

      Thank you! Yep - I kept saying it incorrectly. And no, neither is perfect. But one of the other viewers here commented that she's never had that issue with her Leifheit.

    I would totally put up cherries IF I had one of these that really worked! As it is, I learned how to use a paper clip when I was a child and that is the same way I do it now. Looks like the Progressive pitter would be the most helpful though.
    I have used cherry pits for hand warmers - washed the pits really well, dried them thoroughly and sewed some into hand sized fabric pillows. Then I simply warm in the microwave for a minute or two and keep in my pockets during cold weather.

    I am a subscriber and love the amazing things I learn here. I think they both look amazing but would probably use the smaller one more.

    I love watching your channel. Great review on both. If I win I would like the Progressive. Thank you for the chance to win. Good luck everyone.

    I am a subscriber. Since I would be using it for canning cherries, I would have to say that I would prefer the Leifheit one. I think it would take a long time to use the other one to get enough cherries pitted for canning, but I would feel blessed to win either one. Will you be doing another video to announce the winners?

      I'm not sure how I'll handle it, yet, Mandy - but I'll definitely be screen shotting and posting the results on my FB page, and contacting winners here.
