Because you’ll have an extremely fast regen rate for wounds of any kind, and the blood will even repair bone and organ tissues! (Highly recommended)

Blue blood: double style points when bleeding seems useless to the casual player, but the *style* stat is one of the best ones to specialize in for the late game. Edible blood: this basically removes the hunger stat from the game, as you now have an infinite supply of food! The damage you deal to yourself is inconvenient, but manageable. Heavy blood: makes you incredibly slow, but *quadruples* your strength stat! I think the massive mobility debuff makes it more trouble than it's worth, but that's just me. All purpose blood: makes you basically 10 times as durable, as every wound you get is automatically sealed by the blood. Don't think that "sealed" means a full heal, though.
Spoiler alert: If you choose "a true challenge" for his final gift, he will fight you. Each upgrade you didn't choose goes to him, making the fight *insanely* hard
