    Yeah i do not see nuclear engines being sent up anytime soon , the potential of the rocket blowing up on launch pad is good.....plus the cost of everything

    It didn't work very well in the 60's? You're completely full of it. Just take a look at the success of the NERVA engine, and I quote: "The AEC, SNPO, and NASA considered NERVA a highly successful program in that it met or exceeded its program goals. It demonstrated that nuclear thermal rocket engines were a feasible and reliable tool for space exploration, and at the end of 1968 SNPO deemed that the latest NERVA engine, the XE, met the requirements for a human mission to Mars." C'mon get your facts straight. We already have proven technology to do this. It just needs to be re-engineered. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NERVA
