I have been playing rdr2 and borderlands 3. I started both on pc like weeks earlier but then switched to steam deck. getting rdr 2 stable was a bit tricky (use directx and windowed for anyone who is interested). I am really enjoying the experience so far.
Thus far I've used my Steam Deck primarily for emulation to play some titles from older consoles. It's an amazing platform for it especially since you can create save states and load it up at any time.
Quick question: will you actually play the games because you still have the time and, frankly, motivation, to play them? I have literally hundreds of unfinished games to chose from and when the evening comes, after work, I am damn near paralyzed and end up watching youtube videos ABOUT video games (or other hobbies of mine) instead of actually playing them.

@@ChaseLancaster it's a good game, but I wish it was longer, and it has a fuck ton of bugs. No stuttering issues playing it on deck, but every few hours I would encounter the strangest bugs... It hasn't been enough for me not to enjoy the game though, but it could have used some more time to be polished... I would recommend waiting half a year and buying it on sale. It should be all patched by then, the game itself is excellent
@@wickersticks Yeah, the bugs have been annoying. I sometimes got softlocked in place when one of the bishops appear, but with no dialogue whatsoever. I'm just frozen in place. One time, I even defeated a bishop, but the game didn't consider it over. The music was still playing, but the door wouldn't open. Annoying, but the gameplay loop was just too good to quit.
@Christopher Easler It does. In fact it was unplayable on Linux, including the Steam Deck for a long time because of it. It's fully playable now though.
@Christopher Easler It works fine offline. Maybe launch it once online first just to be safe. You just won't be able to use online features like SOS, of course.
I've been playing Game Pass games on Windows 11 after setting up dual boot. Getting the controls working right requires a couple of extra steps but it unlocks the huge Game Pass PC library. Started Death Stranding and continuing Hitman 3 and Subnautica Below Zero (they finally fixed the cloud sync!).
Been playing some classics…Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Sunshine, GTA San Andreas, Simpsons Hit and Run. But also been playing Sleeping Dogs. Runs phenomenal on steam deck and always wanted to play it for years. Wasn’t expecting to love my steam deck so much. Only had it since Wednesday and I do not regret my decision.
Shoutout for a rogue like with a full story and single player: Secrets of Grindea! Amazing tight gameplay with a massive Zelda-style single player, but also a completely optional side arcade mode which is a full rogue like mode in itself!

Disco Elysium was the first game played on steam deck. One of my favorites now. I tried divinity original sin and I wanted to get into it, but I couldn’t. I just started Mass Effect Legendary edition, it’s great.
honestly on mine I've been mostly doing GBA and Snes emulation and then randomly replaying Ori and the Blind Forest a little bit before bed each night and a bit of Forza Horizon 5. Been really enjoying the steam deck.

FF7 remake has been getting the most love on my Steam Deck (even though I beat it on PS4) It’s shocking that it runs so well. 40hz mode (with frame rate at 120 in settings and low/low, looks freaking way better and smoother than it should) Totally loving my deck

I’ve been playing plenty of JRPG’s that I’ve been needing to catch up on. Persona 4, Disgaea, Tales of Symphonia, etc. The steam deck has become my JRPG machine, and I’m not complaining 👏🏽
So what i you usually do is play the big open world triple a games. I finish the main story on my pc and enjoy all the visual flare and then the sidequest and open world fluff i do it on my deck since they are shorter and easier to do on the go. Also some indies don't hurt, especially 3d animes ones like inside or furi, while the 2d or more cartoonish looking indies i go on switch. Glad to see people enjoying steam deck!
Mortal Kombat 11 on steam deck is very nice to play. With the right settings, ive been able to reach 2h30 gameplay at 60fps. While I've been revisitig final fantasy 13 at 5h of battery life at 40fps
between the deck and the switch, the freedom to move relatively seamlessly between handheld & tv experience has become a core part of my gaming preferences, something that matters much more to me than high end graphical prowess. i have games I'd love to play on my playstation, and the knowledge that I'd be stuck at my desk always has me reaching for the switch or now steam deck instead, even if I end up playing at that same desk most of the time anyway.
Thankfully you can mod the FF Pixel remasters to have the original sprites and SNES tile sets (FF6 PR uses the GBA tile set that’s washed out and overly bright due to the GBA’s dim screen). I actually played FF6 PR modded on my steam deck and had a great time
Is someone who's played through shovel Knight many a time I have no idea what pocket dungeon is but it kind of reminds me that weird mode that was added to the mutant muds game where it looks like a falling block puzzle game similar to wario's woods or something
Disco Elysium is one of my favorite games ever made. You *have* to learn to live with your decisions and successes/failures of dice rolls. It's better to just roll with it all and so a replay later if you want to see how other things may have panned out. Trust me on that.

Yes it's very easy. You can just use steam wallet money to buy it, you just have to enter your adress and live in a region where the steam deck can be shipped to.
Don't have my deck yet. All of the games you mentioned on are my to play list. It seems we have very similar taste in games, a couple games I want to add to the list are Slay the Spire, Monster Train and Spiritfarer.

Brotato is amazingly addicting and mindless. Midnight Fight Express is an amazing game. The levels are short so its good for quick bursts. Brawlhalla is a great smash bros alt. Hades of course and to finish off skatebird which is tony hawk but you play as a bird with some pretty fun mechnics.
I got my steam deck on Wednesday and by Thursday it broke. I switched from desktop mode to steam mode, the screen goes black, and that's all that happens now. I've literally done everything. Boot from bios, let it die and recharge, changed outlets and adapters, nothing. Currently waiting for Valve to get back to me.

Unfortunately a lot of recommendations on most of these videos are games that play the same but look better on the switch oled, I’ve had my deck for about a month and find little reason to use it aside from emulation but again most titles available on the oled. Hopefully they’ll smooth things out on it or release a second version with better build quality/portability.

Subset Games absolutely needs more recognition for their work on Into the Breach and FTL: Faster than Light. Amazing games. Amazing developer.

The arkham trilogy is incredible on deck. Hyper Light drifeter and AM2R are also really good

Switch emulation on the deck feels so good man, other emulators like gamecube feel good as well
played through gta v and gta iv story on steam deck it was so cool to do that on a handheld

I want a steam deck mini. 1tb.
I got my deck this week, I didn’t get it to play indie games, if I wanted to play indie games I can do just fine on my phone.
I dig it but why only play games you can play on a Gameboy lol. No AAA game?
There's ton of triple a games that run on the steamdeck, this one TH-cam channel alone covered hundreds of triple a games from 2010-2022

I got my steam deck on Wednesday and by Thursday it broke. I switched from desktop mode to steam mode, the screen goes black, and that's all that happens now. I've literally done everything. Boot from bios, let it die and recharge, changed outlets and adapters, nothing. Currently waiting for Valve to get back to me.
How does the steam deck compare to something like the rog z13?
I am hitting my RPGS hard, I am going to play through all of the Legend of Heroes: Trails games plus, Tales of, Ys, and Finally finish I am Setsuna lol
Deep Sky Derelicts is a good rougelite for the Deck. I am also a big fan of Void Bastards.
Sadly the steamdeck is not available on our country. But i would love yo try it out. The gaming library is great, I will bring less consoles with something like it.
Not sure what shipping would be like to your country, but would it be possible to buy it from somewhere like ebay and ship it to your country that way?

My biggest struggle is looking at my backlog and never getting the time to actually play anything.
valve has either picked up the paste of production or people lost interest or didnt have the money ready when there email arrive because i went from q3 to q4 to getting my email the other day that my device was ready

My Steam Deck is on its way but, I just love the Oled Switch.
Unfortunately a lot of recommendations on most of these videos are games that play the same but look better on the switch oled, I’ve had my deck for about a month and find little reason to use it aside from emulation but again most titles available on the oled. Hopefully they’ll smooth things out on it or release a second version with better build quality/portability.
Im a beekeeper in minnosota. I trap 7 Monarch Butterflies in a jar. I then place jar in the middle of the Beehive. It then is a joy for me to watch the bees frenzied Sting the Butterflies til they Disintegrate. IT creates some of the best tasting Honey I have ever produced and sales are booming.
