Roland TR-6S settings to check on | TR-6S Tutorial and Walkthrough

  • On my tutorial on setting up the TR-6S with a DAW, I had a question about getting into the settings of the TR-6S in the first place - so I thought it would be a good idea to go through some other settings you should check on and set to your preference. These are the ones that, at least for me, directly affect my use of the TR-6S as an instrument to jam on, and as a Drum Machine to use with my computer when I produce music.

    The pastebin link in the description has a list of my note settings for MIDI if you want to use the TR-6S as a MIDI sound module. Do you want me to do a run down of any other bits of the TR-6S? Let me know if you do! :)

    Hey there. Thank you for all the helpful videos.
    Have you ever searched for a way to add subtle Velocity variations (apart from the Accent function) ? As in typing in various Velocities for different steps in order to humanize it a bit? Is it even possible on this machine? Altering the velocity of individual steps?

    Is there a way to boost the memory on this thing? I imported 2 drumkits to the device via SD card. Ran out of space.

    Hi there, I take it there is a way of saving the tunes you've made right? Or is this what you mean by "kit & pattern"?

    • @afrohamurai
      @afrohamurai  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So the drum patterns you make are saved as patterns, and the drum sounds you make are saved as kits

    • @afrohamurai
      @afrohamurai  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@benaskrensfriend4945 if you wanted to save just the drum pattern you make, you’d save the pattern. If you wanted to save the drum sounds as well, make sure to save the pattern and the kit and it’ll do that for you too 👍🏾

    • @afrohamurai

    Is there step probability, to dial in the chance that a step will be played. ( mute percentage). Or will it be implemented in a firmware upgrade. Even a volca drum has this, wonder why Roland can’t implement this?

    • @afrohamurai
      @afrohamurai  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I got no idea on that - It definitely isn’t anywhere in the TR-6Ss documentation. It’s weird because the TR-06 (the Boutique 606) has probability chance in it. The only solution I’ve had is to work with probability in Ableton and sequence it there
