My recommendation for getting the permaseal out is to use a sharp 1/4" chisel. You can get a cheap package of 4 different sized chisels from Harbor Freight for like $8. Heat the tip of the chisel with a torch or over a gas stove for about 15-20 seconds and then start peeling up the permaseal from the bottom of the channel and then the sides. Continue reheating the chisel as needed. If you see smoke while peeling out the permaseal, your chisel is a little too hot. If it's a little too hot, it shouldn't hurt the plastic, but keep the chisel moving and wiggle back and forth if needed as you apply pressure and you won't harm the plastic at all.

Hello, I have a BMW 5 F10, last week after I washed it the led lights failed , any clues about what could be. The back round cover was loose. high beam (Xenon) works ok and curve light turns on but after a few seconds it turn off. Thanks.
Claus Scholz Hey! Thanks for the response. It could be a number of things. If all of them work and then shut off. I’m tempted to say it’s the TMS module (the black motherboard looking thing). I had the same problem but mine wouldn’t come on at all. That module controls all your LEDs. But I’d hate for you to change it and it goes bad again if it is still wet inside. What I would do if I were you is take off all the modules and caps off of the headlight that got wet inside. Get a hair dryer (not a heat gun because you’ll melt the light). Let the dryer blow hot air in the light for about 20-30 minutes so everything dries out. Your light will get hot but it won’t melt don’t worry. And separately let your modules dry in the sun for about 30 min. Just in case there is still some wet spots on them. Make sure everything is dry because just a little bit of water can cost you a whole lot more money. Then take off the TMS module on your good headlight and put it in the headlight that got wet. (Compare their part numbers to make sure it’s the same). Also put all the Modules back on so you can plug it to the car to test it. If that fixes your problem just buy a TMS module for the side that went bad. Make sure you buy one that has the exact same part number and make sure it’s OEM. You can buy it on eBay for about $200. Which one of your LEDs do not work? The turn signal and rings?
@@pavmik1 Hey, thanks for the answer, both LEDs don't work; the turn signal and the rings, I don't know if the white stripe at the top also carries a LED, it won't work either. The curve light (H7 bulb) turns on and then shut off. The one with the Xenon D1S bulb works properly.
@@clausscholz7053 yea the white strip has 3 small LEDs on the corner. Hmm thats very interesting. I dont see why the halogen bulb would come on and then off. They usually work no matter what. But first thing first i would dry out the headlight and all the components. If you change the TMS module from the other side and it still doesnt work, try swapping all the bulbs and the LED modules (turn signal, rings) from your other headlight. I know the turn signal wont fit in because its opposite side but as long as you get to plug it up. Sorry there is only so much i can help over messages. Let me know how it works out.
@@pavmik1 Hello, Thanks for the answer. Sadly I don't have the proper space to remove and do the things you are suggesting. The TMS module controls only the LEDs? if so can you give a link like eBay or amazon where to buy. I'am from Chile and the BMWs Dealers here charge waaaay over the actual price. For example they wanted to charge me 370 USD for one D1S bulb plus installation. I bought it for 150USD and installed myself.
Claus Scholz oh my.. do you have an eBay account? You could have bought a d1s bulb for under $20 USD brand new. It’s not the one that comes originally but still the same result. Can you send me the part number that’s on that TMS module? It should be 7 or 11 digits. You can’t miss it. I’ll find one for you on eBay. Yes the TMS module controls the LED’s.
good video and interesting but do not like the idea of putting the light in the oven. it must effect the components in the light, may stop working after a short time.
Steven Clarke never had a single issue with that. I’ve even washed headlights with water and soap before. As long as you dry it out completely they have always worked perfectly.
Steven Clarke Always. I don’t remember what these cost at the dealer just the bare headlight without modules but if I’m not mistaken it’s over a grand. Ridiculous.

In my opinion, having done this before, it's better to cut the lens off first so you can pull it out cleanly with pliers and hands after heating. This avoids damage to the housing caused by prying. One extra step ends up being less of a hassle and ensures the housing plastic remains pristine.
Hello there, I would gladly pay you to do this for me, I have a set of these exact headlights that I'd like the lenses replaced on. How can I contact you besides ig? I only have TH-cam, tictok, and email
I just did this for a customer last night. The permaseal was harder than I thought it would be but not impossible to pry open. Also what makes this harder to pry open is the fact that the housing is thick. But lots of heat is needed to get it done. 250 oven at least
Christian Andolini Maybe it’s possible. But this is the best way that works for me. That way the housing looks neat after you are done. If you try to pry the lens out you will most likely have a chewed up housing. It’s even super hard to do it when I cut the lens. I can only imagine how bad it would be trying to pull it all out in one piece.
Nah son Really said yeah ima just cut right through the lens to remove it and still ended up having to put it in the oven to remove the rest of the lense 😭😭😭 (not to mention it’s a bmw headlight 💀)

Hi can i ask to replace my headlight?
What kind of silicone you suggest
Butyle tape black stuff sticky comes in a roll
Where i can buy that plasti trim from minute 13.37 mine it’s craked and I can’t finding that thx
I don’t know where to get those myself. Usually I just fix it and paint it or if it’s bad I’ll get it from another light.
Any difference between the pre lci and lci f10 headlights?
c_Pho Nahh they are both the same. LCI is actually a little more easier because it’s more plain inside. The lenses are the same for both.
Lenses are the same, but not the blinkers. LED headlights are not the same tho are the xenons tho
Will a heat gun work instead of using an oven? And also do you have to remove all the lights and the wiring before using the heat?
Sohail Dar haven’t tried but I’m sure it’s possible. You don’t have to but it will be better if you do.
merciii 👌👌👍
Oi manda o nome dessa máquina que senhor está cortando
Excellent work. Do you perform this on any other make and model vehicle?
MrCaribe65 Thanks! if they have replacement lenses then yes.
Do you know know to replace the light on top of light
Would you be open to do 2 headlights BMW F 10 for customer pay. How would I get in touch with you?
good video and interesting but do not like the idea of putting the light in the oven. it must effect the components in the light, may stop working after a short time.
Steven Clarke never had a single issue with that. I’ve even washed headlights with water and soap before. As long as you dry it out completely they have always worked perfectly.
@@pavmik1 The light looks as good as new, saving money is what its all about.
Steven Clarke Always. I don’t remember what these cost at the dealer just the bare headlight without modules but if I’m not mistaken it’s over a grand. Ridiculous.
Hej maybe you can help me woth BMW E91 lci Xenon for Open
Can something like this be done with the tail/rear light in order to fix the led (module)?
Kristjan J I haven’t done any taillights yet:/ If I’m not mistaken, taillight lenses are glued to the housing. I think it would be hard taking it off without cracking the lens.
hello sir ! I'm can buy 1 set ! but can you send to VietNam ?
On 04:00 what happens if you plug the cable in but on different side?
haven't tried but I assume it wont work
@@pavmik1 thank you for reply
I looked for you on IG . Your name doesn’t even pop up . I’m in NJ I can come to you . How much do you charge ? I already have the lens
Man this way of change the lenses is fucking pain in the ass,my car is a n55 ain’t that’s easy like this guy said !!!
If my had the small chip of he’s, I wont do shit, now Houston I have a problem 🤧😂😃🍻 F. I need to relax before I do broke this shit let me drink my beer !!!
Don’t guys try to attempt his method of cutting the lance cover and than bake the whole headlight ! BIG NO NO NO
Just use heat gun and go around it , it’s less time and no mess .
Dont think it would work, the silicone is just glued too strong it was so hard to get it off with all the tools and grip you have (after cutting the lens)
I used heat gun and worked fine. Never touched oven as I have no idea how to use oven 🤣. Hardest part is to clean it after taking lense out.
I imagine the previous owner drilled holes to drain the water out of them
hello how long to do it all? thank you
nike mouk 4 hours plus minus
I can’t find you on instagram… I also don’t have instagram. Is there any other way to contact you. Please
Why dont use just heat gun? I always use heatgun to open headlights
Deividas Globys because I have an oven and it’s more convenient for me to use it. And the end result is cleaner. Plus these lights are hard to open since they don’t have soft glue.
HeadlightHeartSurgeon My friend got f10 2011 with same lights he wants that i open them and change lens,so is any chance to open just with heat gun and some screw driver to push it?
Deividas Globys don’t think so but you can try.
Cutting? Are you serious?
Hey where can you buy a lense
Hey, I get them on eBay.
@@pavmik1 thanks!
Mate I crashed my headlight how can i find you to repair my one
Nima Nasseri hey, are you in the United States?
HeadlightHeartSurgeon no bro,in from uk london.i wish be there

HeadlightHeartSurgeon are you on the east coast?
Hi I bought a new one at the dealer for an x2 and it won’t turn on
A headlight? You probably need to program it to your vehicle

I don't know if you're still seeing These comments but I need your help Replacing lens on a 2013 F10. Some one hit and ran while parked.
Natasha N just happened to see at a perfect time. What can I help you with?
@@pavmik1 how wow I wasn't expecting u to answer but here goes, first thank you so much for responding. Someone hit my car while parked and I was told the whole thing needs to be replaced nothing is wrong with it but the broken cover. I do not have the monies to pay for a headlight. So are u still doing this type of work if so where are u located?
Natasha N yes I still do this. I and located in South Carolina. If you want to message me on Instagram you are more than welcome to. I’ll probably reply faster there. My username is headlightheartsirgeon. Thanks
@@pavmik1 I'm not a social media person my friends laugh at me all the time. I don't mind the time you respond to me. I wish you were closer I could drive to you, I'm in Boston Massachusetts.
Natasha N Not a problem. I think you need new friends if they laugh at you for that. I totally respect it. You can ship it to me. If you don’t mind the wait.
So cutting the lens is the only solution. Damn. It's risky. Need to have my f10's lens changed but now i think i should probably leave it
Haris Sajid Hey, no cutting isn’t always the best option. Only if the lens is cracked then yes. What’s wrong with your lenses?
@@pavmik1 hi! My lens are fine. They just have too many scratches now. So I want to replace it with new lenses
Haris Sajid check my latest video. You won’t need to cut them. Way easier
Hey. Is there difference between lci and prelci? Maybe i can contact you somehow? I want to ask you few questions :))
Ro Co Not really. Lenses will fit both. Yea you can reach me at 8643594635. I don’t have an Instagram anymore.
@@pavmik1 i am not from usa, maybe you have viber, whatsapp or something else :)
Ro Co I do have what’s app
ok,,now I see the turn holes are closed,,unfortunately
any body in miami do this job?
There has got to be an easier way to do this. 🤔
Yes there is. Watch M.Ovidiu two videos on this subject, on TH-cam. He's a pro,
Why did you cut it, you had to heat it, it would be completely removed
Why didn’t you just put it in the oven from the start
In my opinion, having done this before, it's better to cut the lens off first so you can pull it out cleanly with pliers and hands after heating. This avoids damage to the housing caused by prying. One extra step ends up being less of a hassle and ensures the housing plastic remains pristine.
How much you charge for this?
James Curtis $350
How long does this take if I ship the item to you .
Use butter with a sprinkle of salt and olive oil before putting in the oven.
Hello there, I would gladly pay you to do this for me, I have a set of these exact headlights that I'd like the lenses replaced on. How can I contact you besides ig? I only have TH-cam, tictok, and email
Brand new is $1000+ my friend
So you can’t just bake these lights
why dont you put in into oven for 10 min then you dont have to do any cutting
because it has hard silicone that doesn't get soft when you heat it.
I just did this for a customer last night. The permaseal was harder than I thought it would be but not impossible to pry open. Also what makes this harder to pry open is the fact that the housing is thick. But lots of heat is needed to get it done. 250 oven at least
Where are you from? Can you do my light? lol
Be Ready Handball South Carolina. Sure
But you could first put to the oven the remove everything together no cutting etc...
Yeah ain’t that simple these are permasealed
Nah son Really said yeah ima just cut right through the lens to remove it and still ended up having to put it in the oven to remove the rest of the lense 😭😭😭 (not to mention it’s a bmw headlight 💀)
Hey Man i have a moist in the headlight and the dealer asked me to replace the whole headlight ,i'm like what $3500 to do that ,can you help?i sent you insta message
What’s your contact info I want this done to my car
What is the name of your business
