You can tell assassin was a older class in need of new skills and a rework while herbalist was a newer class with an updated story and gear to go along with it.
Herbalist is actually an older class that got reworked, that's why they put a quest that gives you free enchanted armor, so you can skip the old questline and go straight to current, new content!
One of the very few times Adam can really stick it to Rowan but he’s just too damn nice of a guy to take advantage. You’re a lucky man Rowan, always remember that.
I half expected Adam to say "oh, you need {exotic plant}, {more exotic plant}, and {incredibly rare and hard-to-make plant extract}? I have some right here. How much do you need?"
My favorite detail in this video is that Rowan is actually one level higher than Adam. Meaning there's no chance that Adam has more cool shit because he simply leveled faster and got to the cool shit Rowan has yet to get to. What'll really suck is that they'll wait until Rowan finally gives up on the assassin class and rerolls to herbalist, then gets that herbalist allll the way to the level cap, and that point they'll release an expansion that has all the cool stuff and massive buffs for the assassin class that Rowan always wanted.
it happened to me years ago. I don't really remember what patch or expansion it was because it was so long ago, but in WoW I played mainly paladin, but there was a time when that class was so forgotten and generally useless if you don't want to be a mediocre healer that I finally forced myself and rerolled into something else. Literally 2 weeks after I got my new main to max level and got a decent gear to start raiding on him the patch notes for the next public test realm were released and Paladin was about to get massive buffs (and cherry on top, the class I switched into got massively nerfed). I quit the game for a while after that. I stuck around on paladin for multiple patches waiting for miracle and they buffed him right after I gave up
I just played the part where I had to gather plants in Ghost of Tsushima for making poison to assassinate enemies and watching this skit ending was hilarious
Holy shit, the effects on Adam's cloak and make-up are INCREDIBLE. I love how it looks iridescent when he turns and moves. Was also thrilled to see it at the end without any effects, really shows how much effort went in. The edge lighting on some of the leaves too, so cool!
I love how genuinely encouraging Adam is when it's so painfully obvious that Rowan got squat and Adam is living out the dream. Every sentence from him is like rubbing salt into deep wounds. 🤣
Such a shame that someone would be needed on the new night shifts in the store and Adam looks like the best fit for it so he will not be able to play the game so much :).
Same, I like being the Support class that is versatile and bonus if it can defend itself, but it seems in this instance it is the Main Character role (And that is why you read the spoiler free recommendations (Tips and tricks for early stages) before going into unchangeable decisions.
@@LTNetjak Yeah, back when I was raidlead/tankmain on AoC I made sure everyone knew that the success and failure of a raid depends on everyone. It's not just the tank keeping the raidboss busy or the DPS burning it down. The support keeping the tank alive and applying debuffs play a HUGE role. And arguably it's one of the hardest, if not THE hardest, one in the entire collective. So much depends on timing. Tried playing support and quickly realized it wasn't my strong suit. Just let me get punched and keep aggro, they can keep everyone alive lol
Adam was very encouraging, so he didn't tell Rowan that he also got a dryad as a wife, ability to become invisible in the forest, a secret hideout and a unicorn instead of a horse 😊
His passive skill "Rooting" : After 3s stood still, root from his boot (relic set) will hold ground, heal 15% per sec if not attacked, 10% per sec if attacked. Imune to all projectile, status effects and increase def. All elemental magic does nothing, except thunder (90%) and fire (50%), but that easily can be countered with that insane heal.
Adam - Wow that stealth crouch ability is pretty cool! How did you do that? Rowan - You _feel_ yourself fade into your surroundings ... and then just press C
So you're telling me climbing that mountain to get to you and doing all of those mushroom gathering quests were a complete waste of time and i could have just pressed C??? 😂
That's because Druids morph. DKs had some great choices in WotLK, even WoD PvP gear was rather nice looking. The purple judgement set (TBC) on Dks looks great. I find leather users are harder to make decent transmogs, it's mostly plate and cloth users with the epic stuff.
If you apply wow logic to it the skit doesn't work since rogue is way cooler than druid in the late game. Even in the early game rogue is popular for pvp twinking.
Lets not forget the irony that he had to go around picking up ingredients for poisons which is exactly what he didn't want to do and what he was telling Adam about.
NGL, if I was the director of a game like this and such a clearly mundane sounding class was suggested, I'd absolutely give it so much sick shit to do because if someone's going to pick that quest then they're going to be dedicated and should be rewarded for that. Fuck assassin though, that's basic as hell. Almost as basic as a Human Fighter in D&D.
I really hope we get more of these two, with Rowen having to live with the bad class choice and Adam trying to be morally supportive the entire time while being a badass.
I like to think, this is that character's origin story, later becoming a troll/greifer to finally feel powerful and fulfillment with his disappointment
Yep right there with you. The class I pick always seems to be most challenging or about to be hit with the ultimate nerf bat. I always try to play what I think seems fun but then find out in the long run that it gets running into gate keepers near the end.
There is no such things as wrong classes. Search everywhere on the internet and people will say that 3.5e Eldritch Knight sucks balls and I only played EK like, every character I make. The most fun I've ever had, even though everyone in the table was saying I picked the "wrong class". If it works for you, even if other people say its unremarkable, then its not wrong.
It's the gamer equivalent of being the person who always orders the worst dish when you try new restaurants. Though I often find myself in both scenarios
@@VivaLaDirtLeague ehhh I'd say less okay and more along the lines of mediocre. That Rowan guy for example.... He's just such a ...................... dingo dingus.
@@VivaLaDirtLeague It's a good thing to not be always satisfied with our own performances. This way you'll keep pushing to get better and better. But for me, that was perfect. Rowan boasting, Adam disappointment and shame at first, then the reverse sweep awkwardness for the classes being the opposite of what they thought initially were very logic and natural. Nice acting for both of you. Keep making your way to perfection. Indeed, the effects were amazing too. Good job!
@@VivaLaDirtLeague So, you can make this awesome herbalist armour on screen, but refuse to do it for Bobs Ice-armour ......I am begining to think you do it intentionally...........
Same in one of the MMOs I play... People thought my main class was "lowest tier, low DPS" but I usually out-damage everyone (100% crit rate, additional high damage attacks per crit with a burst every few seconds, can steal damage-multiplier buffs from other classes and stack them) 🤣
Sometimes you can even do it in a mature game that's been patched. There are three kinds of underpowered in reality. No 1 is actual underpowered, something a bit weaker than normal, and those are usually still viable just slightly less good. No 2 is really just "hard to play". A class that's not straightforwards and requires more understanding or mechanics and so people don't play it as often but those who understand it just wreck shop. No 3 is something that's very good but is non-DPS. Example is Atlas in Warframe. Vs weak enemies all these DPS frames just killing everything. But then the mission scales as it goes along. And then when its time to leave they're not able to kill anything all crazy any more and they die before reaching the exit and you keep on with your steady killing as you casually make your way to the exit and save the run. No 4 is anything I pick in an MMORPG, I tend to go off the beaten path but my first MMO was Dark Age of Camelot and got my butt kicked for years. While I was only an average player there it turns out that makes you a fantastic player in basically every other MMORPG. So I just tend to excel regardless of class thanks to having survived that meat grinder of DAOC lol.
I really do like how VLDL do these skits where they could have SO easily made a character be smug or snarky, but they just make 'em super polite and/or friendly and it still all works.
Really have to say Idk what you guys are taking lately but the visual effects have taken a massive leap forwards it's crazy. Can't wait to see what else is in store
@@ethanw041 If I had to hazard a guess this was done using After Effects, DaVinci Fusion or Nuke. If you are wanting to get into VFX, Blender is a great place to start as it is free and has 3D and compositing tools.
The assassin class is a actually pretty powerful and offers many great rewards like the herbalist. The mistake Rowan made was how he spec’d his class… because only a NOOB would go for a Moon Beast build! Even Adam actually felt sorry for him… ❤
in the early release of the game, the (war with the werewolves) questline was interesting, a Moon Beast Assassin would gain an advantage in assassinating Werewolf pack leaders and gain some cool loot like (werewolf lord pelt) to which he can take to Bodger the blacksmith to build him a (Lunar Fur Cloak).... this questline was deleted from the later releases of the game tho, because it was deemed (too violent) for the game's PG13 rating.... and the devs didn't care to change this build because no one actually chooses it.
@@vincentfrick6880 thank you... I do love how VLDL make their fake game open enough for us to add lore to it, the lore doesn't even have to be consistent so long it adds to the video your'e commenting on :)
@@Damian-oe6mg Sorry, but it's a fake game, it doesn't exist, but VLDL named it (Skycraft) by combining the names of the famous RPG games (Skyrim) and (Warcraft). still fun to talk about it like a real game tho :P
Well it happened to all of us at some point I think, choosing the wrong character class, wrong skill and so on. I found this channel right before the new year and its epic, already watched like half the vids :))
the big fun is to manage to do it with suboptimal picks/builds. after all, a game is just about fun and certainly not about optimal builds (unless it's eSports) i like playing off builds a lot, be creative, find a style that fits you, feels so much better than meta. you can always choose the fastest car in a racing game but driving alone in front is hella boring, give yourself a challenge.
I never choose the wrong class - I choose EVERY class. 50% of my playtime in any RPG always ends up being replaying the prologue, just to see what the other classes are like. And 25% is just me tinkering at the character creation screen.
That was a nice twist. I kind of assumed they'd go for the trope that Assassin classes are typically just backstab/critical builds that are super-weak at direct combat in addition to being squishy. Bonus points for just giving him a marginal stealth bonus instead of the expected invisibility, quickstep, or shadow-walking. xD
I know this feeling all too well. It's why I like to try and do my research first on classes in games. Failing that I just default to classes that work similar to classes in other games I've played
Well. The classes I want to be like bad ass fighters I can never use since my reflexes are crap. So I usually just play a mage and I tend to run away most of time until I can shoot from a safe distance.😀
If Rowan actually bothered to read the dialogue like Adam did, he would know all his op enchanted armor is in sidequests that involve stealing a dungeon boss’s treasure without fighting a single enemy, and assassinating a dark dragon without being noticed.
They meet later on the max lvl. Adam already progressed faster because he had much more fun and is end-game grinding the best gear out there, special perks that give 1% more skill and 5 hp etc. Rowan hits max lvl 1 month later, all his skills were basically like "Stab 1" that's just a standard animation of an attack with a dagger "Stab 2" that has a red glow to it but very tiny and barely visible and is the same animation, +2 damage on sneak attack. At the max lvl, he does a first entry quest that give a starting dagger, it's not like the most grindy weapons out there but it's much better than greens and blues you find in the dungeons so he doesn't have to grind for a weapon right now. They enter a 2v2 arena to finally have some fun together.. Turns out Adam is doing something akin to giggling someone with a brush. For a full combo he need to cast a lot spells, he always gets stunned, cancelled, enemy run away before he can finish it and first de-buffs run to follow with DMG expire.. in PvE, mobs often die in a party before he can finish the combo. Rowan just enters first arena and turns out he gets a huge, visible damage that sometimes drop 20 or more of enemy health bar. He stacked a lot of these sneak damage bonuses so he attacks from the back, target the enemy with Stab 1 and follow-up with a thick, quarantted crit from Stab 2. Not only that, but near the end he unlocked "Dance of blades" which give him a big attack speed boost so his usual pretty boring animation when sped-up, looks kinda dope like in anime. Herbalist knows for his heals, his best heals are mostly over time so if he gets focused, most of the time they don't outpace the enemy's damage and in the end stats, his healing done isn't that much. He can heal well but he needs to hide and wait for a bit but if he does it, they argue that Adam escaped and was doing nothing while they were killing Rowan. There are 3 herbalist sub-clases - one is healer, second DoT DPS and his class is kinda a mix-between... They usually win against noobs though because even though being a mage, Adam runs into the middle of an area, activates self-defense buffs and dot heals and noobs focus every abilities on him instead of waiting and hunting for Rowan, so Rowan kicks in and does his assasin combos. Good DPSers still melt him down as he's not a proper tank but some other tanky-dpsers cannot do enough damage while Rowan fricking outpaces them.. When they meet another Rouge and some pure dps mage, they always lose because Adam doesn't have enough dps or heals to keep up with that other guy and is always last on the DPS chart. The worst is that Rowan gets a dagger throw that with a perk applies all the sneak damage bonuses. Adam has one basic spell that does some damage and apply a DoT and a debuff.. The dagger does more visible damage and when they choose someone with low hp, Rowan's daggers just shuts down someone when Adam was happy to finally utilise his range and kill off that guy. So, he decides to change classes to DPS to do more damage because Rowan is a bit squishy to really heal him up quick enough with the healer... So now, he loses the "Shroud of the Nature" spell.. and gains "Shroud of the Thorns".. but it's actually just some tiny, brown glow. He now stands totally revealed with his UGLY end-game robe but a brown glow even worsens it and makes him look like some bandit. Shroud also effect pets so his now best pet, a fox that applies good bleed and crits, looks like some regular basic lvl 1 mob with barely noticable brown glow instead of that awesome aura of nature that the other two sub-classes have. So now, he.. gets good damage over time DPS. It's cool because he can quickly pop them and then start run and heal with his basic non-buffed heal spell that this subclass has. It's also good against kiters because they can't run from a DoT damage and if he has time, he can stack the basic dot to a high degree.. however.. these DoTs dont have any visual effects. He casts some basic spell animation and its just the text of the damage popping on his enemy XD One dot "Nature's Wrath" does a small leaves visual copy-pasted from the shroud when activated on the enemy but it quickly fades and it's the same dot over again.. So he turns out to be some basic mage that look like a lvl 15 scrub.. However, when he enters the dungeon, he does good DPS only on bosses and on these easier grindier dungeons he doesn't have much fun because his party kill mobs too quickly for the DoT damage to fully utilise it's potential.. so he switches to.... a healer for the dungeons.. He's happy again to have all these cool nature-based things but it doesn't work best in PvP so instead of that "one perfect build". For solo questing, on harder content his DPS gets often damage so quickly that he has to wait and heal for 1 min every two groups of mobs. The between-subclass looks perfect for solo'ing so he switches for it for questing.. However, then he encounters a lot of easy quick-kill quests and this subclass is doing damage much slower than the other sub.... In the battleground, he starts doing good DoT dps but then gets focused and killed 5 times in a row.. He wishes "damn, too bad I didn't pick the other sub-class".. He later re-enters as the dps/healer/utility/defensive but it turns out all of his team is these warriors, paladins, battleclerics and there's noone with that actually high soaky damage and they mostly run around for 5 minutes and try to kill someone who is being healed while enemy DPS'es finnaly burst them down... He decides to enter the battleground as a full healer to really save people but half of the time, the match is so easy he doesn't even have anyone to heal and it's spawn camping or it's vice-versa, it doesn't save much friendlies because they get killed so easily.. An actually balanced match with long fights and similar dmg on both sides happens very rare but at least it gives him good opportunity to do some nice heals xD Oh, and Rowan gets invisibility while sneaking when Adam's invisible spell does literally nothing and doesn't work on anyone except the basic white mobs in outside areas because he didn't invest in stealth... aaand, turns out Rowan has this cool "cloak of the shadows" spell every for 20s every 30s that gives him 15% bonus evansion and he's enveloped in a really cool looking shadow cloak and he has dash-in/dash-out skill that does that cloak animation around him for a moment while doing these jumps. Adam gets "Nature's charge", every one minute he can dash forward with some damage but it's just without any animation, just running forwrard quickly and it looks like that brown glow from Shroud of the Thorns extends to a bigger AoE around him/spell's AoE.. Oh, by the wait, "Rowan, wait, I'm doing a quick town teleport, no waaait I need to quickly change classes, will be 5 min... 15 minutes later: I needed to change some gear too, Rowan are you here? Oh, I didnt see the message that you went "AFK for 5 minutes".. 30 mins later - Oh you need to go, ok see you tommorow.. xD After some time, they buff that middle-mix-up subclass but it's pretty minor and just slightly boost dmg of two unique for this subclass spells from the skill-tree but increases mana cost for some DoT heal and Adam is even more confused which class he should play, his first pick with a buff or keep being the DoT dpser and healer.. XD
I'm curious if Rowan actually finished his starting quests, or just ran around grinding on weak enemies while going "Hah, I'm an Assassin, look at how badass I am." and is just now finishing up the tedious starting questlines, while Adam churned through his starter quests to see the cooler questlines.
Feels like it yea. Equal gear would probably have shadowy whisps coming from it and give him invisibility on a cooldown or something. Maybe even a poison enchant skill where he could make his weapons glow in some poisonous color.
2:50 just realizing that part of the punchline was he was making fun of the herbalist quests for collecting plants and herbs, but ended up doing that as an assassin.
@@thomgizziz are you really that sad with your life that me saying shade away while i game bothers you? im sorry that it bugs you i promise i wont shade away anymore... shade awayyyyyyyy
The thing about classes like Warrior or Assassin is that the abilities are usually pretty straightforward (strength, durability, stealth etc). Esoteric classes like herbalist or alchemist give the devs a chance to be a bit more creative, plus of course sometimes they just like to mess with people 😂
I was also thinking that. He should've mentioned his stats when Adam asked him how he's doing. He should be having it easy on quests because he got strong stats, so it feels boring.
well adam looks all fancy and stuff but in a duel against the boring assassin he gets wrecked, because dueling is the assassin's profession, not looking cool or being useful.
@@BayWa4eva Well, it depends on what they want to do in the game. If both of them are just having fun doing quests and role playing the story, then he really picked the wrong class.
@@versuzzero5335 That's true since Rowan at the beginning was complaining how boring the tutorial was. Then again, assassins and warriors really shines at later levels and mostly on PvE or PvP where they can one shot enemies.

Ah yes the Herbalist, I myself main the Water Bearer class. I thought I made a bad choice until I gained the "Breath of Water" perk that let me access restricted undersea kingdoms. There I was able to upgrade my Water Pot to the Djinn Urn and, well you guys know how awesome it gets from there.
Have you unlocked the Deluge feature on your Urn, yet? There's nothing more satisfying than washing your enemy away with a tidal wave. Especially if you collected that tidal wave yourself. Spoilers- go the Shores of Trip of Leigh and use the scream emote to scream at the ocean. Immediately pull out your Urn and hold it up to the ocean as the ocean roars back at you. When the wave comes in strafe from left to right to catch the wave as it curls and and breaks on the beach. It will always start breaking from the left side.
I personally went for the brick layer class. Was pretty challenging to level up at first but I soon unlocked the iron caves restricted area, where the steam dwarves live. A smith made me a kickass steampunk armor set and 2-handed hammer, and I will soon unlock "THE FOTRESS" whatever that is.Sounds like it'll be cool. Side note: I just realized there's way too many other world/fantasy manga that use this trope. "MC has a class that clearly weak or trash, but he unlocks a secret for that class and becomes the most powerful ever!" :P
It was exactly like this with my current D&D group. Everyone wanted to play the Rogue but when the Druid started getting some higher level spells and unlocked wild shape, the complaining started 😅 “Maaaan, he’s got quite a lot of abilities, doesn’t he? All I do is stab people.”
Our ranger, who doesn't exactly understand how to be a ranger, feels the same way about my Eldarin elf warlock. Ironically, as a warlock, I'm one of the more restricted classes, with less spells and class features that are very encounter specific. Having a 40 ft swim speed and being able to breathe and speak under water is nice, but kind of useless when your party decides to drag you off to Avernus. Same with my wererat curse (picked up in Dragons of Icespire Peak campaign). Being immune to non-magical and non-silvered weapon damage is sweet. Being in the Nine Hells, where everything has a magical weapon, completely negates it. Or, I'm assuming everything is going to have magical weapons, we literally just got there last session. But, yeah, I think everyone feels that way about their current character class; that somebody else has a better class with more combat or roleplaying options. I personally think they're all equally good. You just need to know the right playstyle for your class. Your friends playing rogue, especially if there's a couple of them or even the majority of the party, can be quite deadly. With the way sneak attack works if a bunch of rogues swarm and focus fire individual targets, they're going to make mince meat of it. Mixing up the subclasses within the party will make it even more effective. Arcane Trickster causing distractions, assassin hitting for huge damage, thief to make sure the coast is really clear and there's no traps, ect. We have a six person party and now I'm thinking a full on thieves guild party might actually be fun.
I just tend to play bards. We get tons of fun abilities, AND the ability to make you known across the land as Roderick Stumblefoot, the Druid Who Gets Lost in the Forest if we feel like it. :)
Always important for players to realize every class has a role where they can excel. I may gently encourage my players to seek out their class/character's strengths while not holding their hand. For instance even with the druid wild shaping into a mouse, a great rogue is far sneakier and can plant evidence, learn crucial information, procure a quest item with little resistance, spot and disable traps, or indeed deliver a crippling blow from the shadows where everyone gawks at just how many dice are being rolled. One of my favorite moments came from a rogue. They were being dined by a vampire in the classic "Vampire invites the party over to make veiled threats, see how much they know, etc..." and the Rogue said something that caught the Vampire's attention so I had the Vampire lean in menacingly towards him since they were sitting beside each other and very calmly the Rogue goes "I want to pick his pocket." "Oh, shit... uh... okay." "27." I've rarely had issues with people hating their classes. I always encourage them to experiment and see what it is they enjoy about their character and class and explore just what it can do.
They must play it wrong then, Rogue is badass class they got lockpicking; trap sensor; disguise and sense disguise... They pretty must need to find out what is their class hidden perk not focus on just skills.
It's possible Rowan just didn't unlock cool unique assassin gear because he thought gathering quests were beneath him. He probably spent most of his time getting the base attacks and then leveling. Like collecting the flowers seems like it should have been completed already.

Unless anything you make has been nerfed by a recent numbers pushdown a la WoW. Then you end up with , in the case of alchemy, potions delivering the incorrect HP. ex. potion level 3(which you can't make until level 10) gives 180 HP, potion level 10 used to give 360 HP, but now only gives 68. um...what? Blizzard really screwed up.
Honestly the only game I've ever played where stealth archer was actually viable was Skyrim, and it was one of the best gaming experiences of my life because of it lol. Also shoutout to Far Cry 3/4 and particularly Primal with bow as primary
The greatest source of choice paralysis for RPG gamers - choosing a class. I’d go over several class overviews before making a decision. VLDL really flexed their VFX with this one
For me it's when I want to play a certain race but its stat increases don't benefit the class I want to play at all. The part of me that wants to optimize all my choices rebels against it, but the part of me that wants to have fun just wants to run with the combo anyways.
I’m just a simple man. I see a VLDL upload, I click. Btw, Adam’s costume is how I want my character to look like in every mmorpg I play. A mythical forest druid-like creature ❤️
Being able to disguise yourself would be a good skill for an assassin, along with the ability to put on fake ID names while disguised (with only allies being able to see your true ID tag), lockpicking, acrobatics, alternative navigation, etc.
As someone who would UNHESITANTINGLY pick a Herbalist class over an Assassin one without any research whatsoever, I love this one. When are you guys developing this as an actual game? ;p
Before the twist: "I would totally pick herbalist. Collecting flowers and herbs is great in games because it really makes you look around your environment!" After the twist: "I would have made the right decision." Also, Adam being super nice at the end when he could have been a prick is so Adam.
There's a greater than 0% chance that I would have taken herbalist just because I actually liked just wandering around aimlessly collecting stuff when I played MMOs. Then again, there's a greater than 0% chance I would have taken assassin just for the promise of quests that were more puzzle-and-stealth based.
I mean Assassin or not I just try and avoid all enemy instances because the MMORPG or RPG developers just throw enemies at you and it's just incredibly annoying.
That reasoning is fine until you realise that in this game, if you want to gather flowers and herbs, you'd actually want to pick assassin. So picking herbalist for the reasons described could actually end up in disappointment..
I really like the FX in this one. The glowing edge mask on the face paint is beautifully done and the color manipulation on the herbalist burla...aaahh...robe is very cool. Exactly the right amount of "over the top" for the atmosphere of a fantasy RPG. Good job.
It would be so awesome to have a real boost from playing something like "the scrub collector" or "the passivist" or "the washing maiden" or "the care taker" (oh wait, there is someone like that, isn't it?!) and rule over the other classes. Or as barde. Or comedic actor. Or unfluencer.
@@jessmute9945 an herbalist is generally gonna be a support type that can flex into DPS depending on the depth of the games RPG mechanics. Something like poison vs Healer. So nah. . . Not out of place. Just know what I’m talking about.
@@adarkwind4712 You do not know. Because... it's not a sketch about some specific game. And it's not even a sketch about DD vs Support dynamic and differences. What are you even talking about? A herbalist. Literally a person that collects herbs. The assassin makes fun of him for that, only later to find out that he's actually a sick druid that could also be a geomant. Nobody ever said a word about supports or "poison vs healer." So yah, out of place. Just some support main can't shut the hell up about being a support main, as usual.
@@jessmute9945 that’s right the *assassin* makes fun of him for that because he thinks it’s not going to be involved. Because it’s not, in his belief, a DD because an herbalist if you would follow the context clues doesn’t “just pick herbs” they make things with them. So no mot out of place it’s not my fault you don’t actually know what an herbalist does.
Not class related, but it reminded me that time my BF made fun of me for doing all the pointless side quests instead of focusing on story quest and being well behind him. Hours later, he was super jealous when he saw me riding a Unicorn, a Kirin, and shooting with my robot

The more new player attractive a class is, the more fun and broken stuff it gets

One of the very few times Adam can really stick it to Rowan but he’s just too damn nice of a guy to take advantage. You’re a lucky man Rowan, always remember that.
To be honest, Adam being supportive and nice almost hurts more than if he was to stick it to Rowan.
Adam being so nice in most of the skits really empowers his performance as Baradun when he can just go full asshole. It's beautiful.
He stuck it out to rowan once and we all know what happens when you do that in some way shape or form Rowan will find a way to fuck you over
I half expected Adam to say "oh, you need {exotic plant}, {more exotic plant}, and {incredibly rare and hard-to-make plant extract}? I have some right here. How much do you need?"
Imagine if Ben replaces adam
My favorite detail in this video is that Rowan is actually one level higher than Adam. Meaning there's no chance that Adam has more cool shit because he simply leveled faster and got to the cool shit Rowan has yet to get to. What'll really suck is that they'll wait until Rowan finally gives up on the assassin class and rerolls to herbalist, then gets that herbalist allll the way to the level cap, and that point they'll release an expansion that has all the cool stuff and massive buffs for the assassin class that Rowan always wanted.
I firmly believe that Adam just spent some money on the game and didn't mention it
it happened to me years ago.

"OPTIONAL"
An actually balanced match with long fights and similar dmg on both sides happens very rare but at least it gives him good opportunity to do some nice heals xD
Oh, and Rowan gets invisibility while sneaking when Adam's invisible spell does literally nothing and doesn't work on anyone except the basic white mobs in outside areas because he didn't invest in stealth... aaand, turns out Rowan has this cool "cloak of the shadows" spell every for 20s every 30s that gives him 15% bonus evansion and he's enveloped in a really cool looking shadow cloak and he has dash-in/dash-out skill that does that cloak animation around him for a moment while doing these jumps. 30 mins later - Oh you need to go, ok see you tommorow.. xD
After some time, they buff that middle-mix-up subclass but it's pretty minor and just slightly boost dmg of two unique for this subclass spells from the skill-tree but increases mana cost for some DoT heal and Adam is even more confused which class he should play, his first pick with a buff or keep being the DoT dpser and healer.. XD
You need to get out more, lol. :)
I'm curious if Rowan actually finished his starting quests, or just ran around grinding on weak enemies while going "Hah, I'm an Assassin, look at how badass I am." and is just now finishing up the tedious starting questlines, while Adam churned through his starter quests to see the cooler questlines.
Seems to be what Rowan would do
I'd say that's fair
Feels like it yea. Equal gear would probably have shadowy whisps coming from it and give him invisibility on a cooldown or something. Maybe even a poison enchant skill where he could make his weapons glow in some poisonous color.

i can't get over how kind adam was being about rowan's crap class lol great vid!
My favourite small detail is how Adams char is one level *lower* than Rowan's. I see youuu
I like to think that Rowan just rushed thru the main story while Adam did the sidequests.
Sidequests is usually where the cool stuff are.
That was the most humble experience of starting a online rpg coop game with a friend ever haha. Amazing acting.
Honestly my favorite part is Rowan is basically collecting ingredients where as in the beginning he was making fun of it
The thing about classes like Warrior or Assassin is that the abilities are usually pretty straightforward (strength, durability, stealth etc). Esoteric classes like herbalist or alchemist give the devs a chance to be a bit more creative, plus of course sometimes they just like to mess with people 😂
There's also a much higher chance they mess something up, so you suddenly have +1500% enchantment rings and such :P
@@BayWa4eva
Well, it depends on what they want to do in the game.
The difference between a launch day class and a DLC class.

They were being dined by a vampire in the classic "Vampire invites the party over to make veiled threats, see how much they know, etc..." and the Rogue said something that caught the Vampire's attention so I had the Vampire lean in menacingly towards him since they were sitting beside each other and very calmly the Rogue goes "I want to pick his pocket." "Oh, shit... uh... okay." "27."
I've rarely had issues with people hating their classes. I always encourage them to experiment and see what it is they enjoy about their character and class and explore just what it can do.
That's why you play Not the End and just improvvise new abilities for your character 🤣
Like collecting the flowers seems like it should have been completed already.
that makes sense actually

Getting the Kirin is _not_ easy, especially if you don't level to grind the horses solo. Respect.
@@thecookieking2956 As someone said, Final Fantasy indeed
Loved the skit, great work on effects too, and Adam looking so cool, having such interesting quests and props, but still being so nice to poor Rowan is wonderful. Also loved that Rowan gets here what he deserves and what he laughed at. :) And herbalist being more powerful and awesome class than assassin... Finally! My druid's heart is singing right now. :)
That "bwhhh" at 0:18 is my spirit animal.
So Rowan is pretty much an assassin creed character ordered on wish.
Please do some assassins creed logic sketches. I think they would be hilarious!
@@Ultimathy It would be awesome, but considering how the franchise has massively changed in the last years, I do wonder if jokes about it would be still on point.
Like, what do you mock? The Ezio era? The America games? Or the current games that try to replicate the Witcher?
@@wjzav1971 haystacks, leap of faith, hidden daggers, wearing a cloak makes you invisible. I know the franchise has taken a completely different gameplay experience but the fundamentals are still there.
@@wjzav1971 wtf? In what way recent AC games have replicated the witcher3? I don't get it. Does Witcher has parkour? Does it have assassinations? does it have ship battles? Or does it have sci fi stuff like isu or animus or a modern day storyline? So for which reason you get to say that? Is it the RPG which clearly wasn't invented by the witcher3. So what is it?
@@mohammadashikurrahman7530 Mostly the RPG thing which the Witcher popularized enough for Ubisoft to steer the ship in that direction. Late AC feels and plays completely different than early AC and you can't deny that big shot executives looked on what's popular instead of what made their franchise unique.
yall should release this as a game ngl
One day 🤩
@@VivaLaDirtLeague 🌚
@@VivaLaDirtLeague Imagine remembering after some time, that a beloved game, once, long ago, began as a simple comedy skit between friends.
@@VivaLaDirtLeague I would be there to play it, or make my own universe xD
Already working on a novel
@@VivaLaDirtLeague as a Skyrim mod!!!
I have literally never laughed so much at a TH-cam video. Actual tears going down my face. Even on the second viewing. I think this is my favorite VLDL video of all time. Great job guys!
Imagine how strong the "Married Homemaker" class might be.
Stamp collector. Level 100. Let's duel.
Big stamp hammer and spell of the written future able to avoid the next round.
These effects are incredible!! Always glad the Patreon pays off so well for you guys :D
Happens every RPG I play
24 classes to play and you find out the class you really like was like # 20?
What games I really only play Skyrim
Except you don't play RPG you just PG. That's why you regret your pick. Otherwise you would just play your character and enjoy it. But you don't, all you see are numbers, and there is no "role" in it.
@@MichaPawelec-tz4ub ah thank you for the information I really appreciate it
@@MichaPawelec-tz4ub Not necessarily, even when RPing the class still needs to be fun to play and it's going to be disappointing from an RP perspective if you happen to pick the class or background with the least interesting quests and least amount of class or background specific dialogue.
Lol, the “fade away” reference
I just can't help but love every time hearing Rowan say "shade away"
Clever turn around where Rowan making fun of Adam for picking flowers and then he ends up doing it. Lol
Such a nostalgia shock for me. My first AD&D 1st ed. character was a half orc Assassin, because it was so obviously "hated" by the game designers.
why
rightly so; evil characters don't play well in groups
Damn, that costume looks like the druid robe I always dreamed of ❤️ Many of the druid armor in many games looks either pretty lackluster or way over the top... But this one's really hitting the point. Great work 👌
"I heard they got cool quests later" Adam being 100% on checking out online what are the best classes and strategies before even beginning 😂 but unfortunately this joy will not last long until a patch comes thru...
You three guys that started this channel work well together and have distinct personalities.
In games the weirdest classes usually turn out to be the most broken so quite accurate.
