Hi, interesting adapter but need to specify what is exactly it. Brand, model, where to buy it. Otherwise only you have this beautiful thing?

More information will be available in the coming week or two. It is an adapter that I have modified. Subscribe for the videos about the adapter, they are shot and in the edit phase 🤙

So with the adapter this is a T2.3-3 @ 29.5mm-620mm which is really good! Wish they made a budget 4k super16 only sensor camera. I like smaller sensor format but seems like a waste to buy a S35 camera and only use crop modes.

Yeah it's a 1 stop light loss through the adapter. My maths are terrible, but I put it somewhere around a 28-583mm T3.5 full frame equivalent, by my terrible maths atleast.
The Ursa Broadcast G2 has 4K B4 support. It is relatively affordable considering what it is. Otherwise FS5 and FS7 and BM Micro cine cam are pretty cheap these days if you can live with HD S16.

Awesome seeing the thorough tests you put this lens through. Is it hard to come by the "1.1x optical correcting adapter"? I didn't do a deep dive, but a quick google search returned 1.4x adapters as far as I could tell.

You can watch more about the adapter I use here: th-cam.com/video/bxN0TT0W788/w-d-xo.html
I make the conversion adapter and sell them 😊
Glad you found value in the testing. There is more videos coming in this series on using B4 lenses on single chip cameras so keep an eye out for more.

Maybe it was later in the day but the field test showed MUCH better highlight rolloff than other lenses. I haven’t watched all the videos yet but by far this looks to have the sharpest and most contrasty image when wide open. Again, thank you for spending the time creating the videos. Do you own all these?
And I have one request. There’s a ton of info spread over this series. I’d love to watch a synthesized video where you talk about your favorite lenses for certain applications or price points!

Yeah for sure, thanks for asking I should have put that info in the videos 😅 hindsight is 20/20.
different gamma curves were used. All Outside "real world use footage" was captured in Slog-3 in Cine EI at base 2000EI and converted to 709 colour space . These outside flowers shots are not really intended as "tests" more just to show what footage looks like in real world conditions . But yes good pickup much more DR captured because of the different gamma curve.
All the internal stress tests on the lenses were shot in Custom mode stock FS7-1 gamma settings. That way I could present the actual test data without needing to process the image and it was untouched "out of camera" additionally all the ISO adjustments could be baked into the footage. So that is why the rolloff looks harsher. The stress tests were more designed to show sharps, CA, SA, contrast and veiling flare characteristics as those are things that can make or break a lenses ability to capture a good/bad image rather than show what a gamma curve is capable of.
I own all of the lenses in these tests. Although future rounds of tests will feature lenses I could never hope to afford 😅 partnering with a rental house, manufacturers and people I know to test CJ, KJ, MK, CAB, CNE, A-HR etc lenses.
As far as a condensed version of the results yes, it's already filmed and in the edit phase. One ~15min video will go over the key things to know about all the round 1 lens tests.
I knew a condensed version would be required when the first test edit was 30min+ I knew nobody would sit through the whole thing for each lens 😉

@@jamesandcamera Well I think it’s a great idea to make the video. Can’t wait to see it and hear your thoughts. The specs are one side but I really find value in personal experiences and anecdotes.

Yeah it's all the data I wish I had when I first investigated adapting B4 lenses many years ago. I figured if I was gathering the data and testing for myself I might as well publish it too.
I'm glad people are finding the test data useful. Certainly more people than I had thought would be interested in such a small niche.

      @@jamesandcamera Definitely an untapped market. Your fs7 mk 1 has a feature I’m envious of…4k s35.

Yeah every camera unfortunately has some quirks. The FX6 just like it's older FS5 sibling just happens to have a few not great design/software choices.
Sony loves to make something 95% awesome with ground breaking tech and then knee-cap their product with some weirdly cheap feeling thing like their monitors and viewfinder loupes or no audio ports on body or restrictive recording options.
Bit of a bummer they don't have someone onboard to convince them to go the extra 5% in the design for a truely epic cam.
