From an Ozzy jock, awesome video, nothing not to like about everything I just watched, I would be proud of that garden too, was fishmonger once upon a time and had cut a tonne of fish one weekend, before a massive storm that wiped out power for a week, I buried the 400kg of fillets etc in the garden...could have watched it grow...had a kiwi wife once too, spent 3 months all around the south island, beautiful place....gonna check out more of your videos....

Trumpeter are mid to low water fish so make a longer leader for your sinker about 1m or 1.5m and try smaller hooks with smaller bait cod,baracota. They are In groups on high points of reefs a lot of the time. You only need to be in 10m-20m of water. Hope this helps we don't always get them but when there on it's on & great video bro!

Here in Virginia USA we call those seaperch black belly rose fish and the blue nose are called barrelfish anyway love the vids

I can only envy your fishing waters and ask that you keep them this productive. My fishery, the Spencer Gulf in SA, has been stripped of fish by the commercial, charter and thousands of boaties that have made my life as a shore fisherman a misery.
There are no fish left to catch here!

The fish you call sea perch, I believe here in the states we call them black belly rose fish. Very good to eat. Do you not like them?
nah I dont like them, unless I have nothing else to eat - then they are delicious. Its all relative you see, bluenose are just so dammed tasty that a sea perch in comparison is like comparing a stale macdonalds hamburger to a steak and salad meal. Cheers!
Josh James Kiwi Bushman I do a lot of daytime swordfishing here in south Florida. The setup you use is much different that what we use here. We have lots of current tho so 6-10 pound weights. 150-200 foot wind on leader after the weight to the bait. The longer the leader the better
