@@albertchehade9916 I checked several details to find an answer : no fumes, no noise (so no gasoline powered generator). First idea : solar powered system with batteries, it would be a real problem to transmit power to perimeter devices (maybe another sets of batteries ?) but it can be the power source. I estimated the size of the roof and you may put something like 2-4kW solar panels on it (but with a lower yield, the cabin is located in a wood, not on a southern beach with little cover). Second idea : a thorium rtg but it's way ahead the reach of any regular citizen.

But to keep all his security services on line, with back spares (remember one camera got shot out) there would have to be some external energy source storage, which would make it an Achilles Heel to his bare existence.
Nonetheless, being both frugal and vigilant, he may be a long term survivor.
Just has to be careful of a couple of things.....not to be caught by his daughter, and to give strangers 3 verbal warnings, then fire a shot towards them as their LAST warning.
Remember also that THAT arrow jammed his door.....he almost became a victim but for his quick thinking and ease of removing that errant arrow, plus the shot that killed his immediate threat,
Ammunition resupply, basic food items, clothing, toothpaste, tp.....et al.......

@@albertchehade9916 I totally agree with you. Relying on technologies you can't replicate is like a "leap of faith", it can be functional for a time but no more. RTG's have decreasing energy yield (depending mainly on half-life and a part on thermic coupling yield), solar panels have a limited duration and batteries have a memory effect.
Back spares (for moisture, wild life or intruders damaging act) need a lot of space and are also a weakness.
I wondered about his "low tech rifle" compared to the shiny AR-15 (I think it's an AR-15 but sorry I never have such in hand so I only guess) handled by the "bald guy", this rifle seems to operate with smokeless powder and it can be used with homemade powder (with many risks : barrel deterioration, misfire...). It may be also related to the location former firearms regulations, the character may not had time to fill the papers to get one modern weapon (all the character seem to be quite in good shape so the "zombie-werewolf-whatever" apocalypse may have happened recently).
He gave them lots of chances.

There was steel between two planks of board. Watch it again. Thats why he stands behind it. But guy with arrow supprised him. Fat guy tried to shoot but it didnt penetrate the door. SO BAD ASS.

They could have just told the truth and ask nicely for food and shelter. I kinda feel bad for them but i really think they went the wrong way of handling things
When the world is in shambles, it's very easy to mishandle situations like this too. Or at least that's what we believe.
If they'd have asked nicely, it would have been a very different (and much shorter) film. ;)
I don't feel bad for them. They were obviously up to no good and would have killed the guy to take what he had.

I say MINI SERIES! This guy was awesome and so was his cabin. I would love to see more of this. Excellent actor, plot, action. Fantastic! Didn't even need to have the zombie daughter come out --I dunno, it was just very entertaining the whole way thru

I agree with you, neverthesame. Forget the daughter and zombie business, extend the plot sequence and title the 80-minute feature "Get (the hell) Out".
I don’t want to watch anymore videos, because this was such a masterpiece. I want a Series. There are so many videos that Alter makes that Could be expanded on.
The audio design in this was really good. I love how you hear the ghoulish daughter shrieking in the distance as Shelby is getting tied up.
I'm guessing the rest of the world is probably having the same creatures at night since one of them mentioned "only an hour left till night" and seems to really want to get somewhere safe before then.
TBH a lone person in the woods vs 3 guys is quite good odds in a desperate situation but dude. Just fuckin give up after the steel(?) barricades came down. Like if cabin guy has that there's no chance taking over that place.

@@sarikakothari71 Aren't werewolves basically monster animals though? The writer mentioned somewhere in the comments it's a new type of creature, kind of a cross between a werewolf and vampire. The important thing is she's sensitive to light.
@@apdarkness905 That was my guess too, but if she was attacked why did the original creature turn her instead of eating her? She doesn't appear to be missing any body parts or anything. Could it have something to do with the mother, who isn't in the picture? (Literally, there's no pictures of her.)

Do you mind if I ask... what brand of microphones did you end up using for lav + Boom? Cinematography was spot on with the only scene I didn't take a liking to being (Although it didn't bring me out of the film, and I rather simply dislike the technique,) was the camera motion focusing back towards the house as Jameson's daughter pounced on Shelby. Shout out to the cinematographers involved as this all was mighty impressive.
Again, loved this. 10/10 and will recommend to others.

They could all be turned into full length movies! All the actors are awesome, the stories are intriguing and sometimes hard to figure out but that's what's so cool about them.. Basically a new spin on the zombie/vampire/werewolf idea. Something caused some people to turn, and survivors try to get by.
There must be many others, because the trio of Invaders knew that night time was bad. Many comments about being wary of the dark and how dangerous it is.
