These cars are very good. Brakes, steering feel, handling are very good. Manual gearbox is very smooth and precise. The brakes really standout from other cars!
I have a Mk3 Titanium with 207k on the clock from new and still doing 650 miles on 50 litres! Very well maintained and second cam belt due! Rarely missed a beat in nearly 11 years.
All good Gary... happy with whatever the content frequency is on your channel. I've still got to summon the courage/find the time to do my first video.
Great choice, I have same Focus with same engine. Just one advice, do not underestimate quality of diesel, fuel system is quite sensitive and can get really expensive when you dont maintain it in right way (I already had to change all fuel injectors due to lower diesel quality - 1300€ in original Ford service). I wish you all the best with your Focus.
Like you, I love my daily. I brought a Mk3 Mondeo, specifically with a towbar. Tons of space inside with the rear seats folded down and not as harsh around town as my ST.
Hi liked the video, I have a 2017 1.5 Titanium X estate with powershift, which I've had almost 3 years. It was a Ford Direct car 6 months old and only 1200 miles on it. Its my first diesel and auto and I love it. Easily gets 56 to the gallon without trying on a run. And just brought a 64 plate 1.6 tdci zetec estate same spec as yours. I love both cars, the auto is superb and I didn't think I'd like it. I've just put a Sony Double din head unit the zetec that has android auto and apple car play. Great unit too. Thanks😁👍🏼
Great choice mate, I currently own exactly the same car a 2011 plate but it's the Titanium model, comes with alot of kit but I don't use half of it, I'm going to look at a 2016 Zetec S estate tomorrow with the 'appearance pack' etc on it 😁
Thank you Gary for being honest. I can understand why you have a daily and don’t take the RS as it would not only spoil the car but the experience too. I’m a little similar, however I cannot afford to run 2 cars so, I drove my RS as a daily driver but I share the driving with my wife’s fiesta. Which is a great little daily driver. Look forward to you videos. My mk3 RS has been in Ford for about 2 weeks but I got it back Wednesday and off I went to work. No issues so far but not convinced they’ve replaced the master cylinder, however no smoke from the engine and only a slight smell of burning clutch. Cars still under warranty and I will be Looking at the extended warranty option later this year. Make sure you’ve got track insurance for the mk2 when you got to Germany, as none of us want you to bin it. 👍🏻
Great update Gary and some exciting content in the pipeline... new daily looks good... perhaps a feature slot on the channel...subs dailys... I have a Chyrsler ypsilon lol... and a quick update on what car I went for.... 2018 Golf R 7.5... 5 door manual in white...
I really enjoy my 2015 Titanium 1.5 diesel. Quick clear heated windscreen is very useful on those cold mornings. Auto dip rear view mirror, auto lights & wipers. Built in Sat Nav is ok now I have got used to it. Has enough power for day to day driving. The torque is very useable in real world driving.
I've daily driven the hatchback 1.6 TDCI from 2013 till last summer, now I daily a 2017 ST Diesel Estate as I'm doing nearly 200km on a daily base. Both are great cars to be fair, but I wanted something with a little bit more juice :D Btw. bluefin made my 1.6 like a beast ;)
Nice car, good choice. I've had a Mk3 1.6 ecoboost Titanium X since last summer. They are good cars, I maybe should of bought an estate for the bigger boot. Would love a mk2 RS, yours is really nice. Look forward to see the next mods.
Hi, i am thinking buying this car . I watch the video , i love everything about it. For me the car will be for work and school for kids. Would you recommend it as reliable. Thanks.🙂
Small shame you didn't get the 2015 face lift, but as a daily tool at a good price it's great. Last year I commented I was looking to combine your old estate with the Mk3 RS and buy a Focus ST Estate, I found a good one and now I daily a lovely 2015 Focus ST Estate (Petrol, Black), it's awesome having a bit of power now and more boot space, I'm sure it's also great being able to run a cheaper daily and a more fun weekend car, but I had to put all my eggs in 1 basket.
I wonder how the MK5 Mondeo is doing in the UK? (the 240ps Ecoboost in particular) Is it that bad? I don't seem to be able to find much on TH-cam about the new Mondeo, although there's quite a few about the Fusion, but in the U.S.
Winter been terrible, one reason why I have swapped my FW Mk3 RS for a Red Edition🚘. It wasnt my daily but just looked dirty instantly going a mile down the road! I wonder has your mate bought my old RS?? 😁
Just got 2015 tdci 1.6 15 plate, I find engine it's quite and go's bit louder. Does any one get that. Only 26,000 on clock . Lovely drive its a zetec do they have heated mirros x
I get why you don't daily the rs but i would definitely use it more as a daily if the weather was better couldn't leave it in the garage not seeing any daylight
I am looking to buy a facelift mk3 with the 1.5 tdci engine. Is this engine reliable? In my country they sell these cars for 8500euros with around 100.000 km
i have just moved from my 2006 focus estate ghia 1.6tdci 55000miles to my newer 2013 2.0tdci titanium x estate its being delivered tommorow very exited my partner is having my 2006 ghia as its still a lovely low mileage car my tit x as 54k on clock
@@CarFocused yes and i got it cheaper because its cat n light damage only needs a wing and a lower arm its still motd its a bright red one i considered the facelift one but just way too much i had a 2.0 tdci mk2 estate a few years a go and it was nippy at 140bhp but this one is 163bhp i usually dont buy the facelift of any model i kind of think that after thoughts are not as good as the original and the mk3 is pretty alot of car for the dosh
You can't beat an estate , would love one and I'm only 26, there's something class about them
@@CarFocused definitely, been looking into the Cupra ST looks amazing too!

That’s awesome 👏🏼
Better looking than the hatch, that's for sure. A lot of car for the money

Thanks for posting. Good watch.☺️
I have just bought the ford focus zetec estate MK3 2L and it's by far the best car I have had me and the kids love it

i have a 1.6 /150 PS Ecoboost since around a year and am more then happy with it. Its far more agile then my prior (totaled) Impreza 1.5l

Perfect for a daily mate and definitely need to keep the rs mint so a daily is a necessity 👌
Looking forward to the videos of the RS.
i own 1.6 tdci focus for 15 years. They are not that robust engines but as long as you keep up with maintenance they are okay
I have heard that the 2011 on 1.6tdci was modified so is apparently more reliable and less prone to DPF/injector issues etc
Just got myself an estate daily volvo v50 d5 auto. Love it
Cracking car! I recently bought a 2012 mk3 ST estate in black to use for MTB transport (bike car) love the thing, care for it more than my Merc! 😂

Watch out for the oil feed to the turbo, there a guage filter init from the sump. It tends to block then blows your turbo, easy fix remove the filter.
Was this not more a problem with the MK2 1.6 tdci? I thought they fixed this problem with mk3
daily's give more freedom and peace of mind any high-performance car.
The focus mk4 has had the RS discontinued.
I have a mk2 2009 1.6 tdci titanium is worth the upgrade to a mk3 i want it for everyday use

Heard the gear box is troublesome
Nothing wrong with the 1.6 TDCI/HDI engine feels punchier than 270NM suggests
Contrats ! Beutyfull car
Nice solid choice mate. Would only be beaten by an RS6 but you'd have to be in the "cheap dank" business to afford one of those 🤔
I had 1 of those as a company car and then I had to give it back and they gave me a Vauxhall astra, please give me back the focus cheers steve
@@CarFocused chris Harris said owning a Vauxhall is like giving up lol it's TRUE cheers steve 😀👍
I would have gone for the mondeo it's better looking and comes with a much much better interior.
Why not the Mondeo Mk4 or Mk5 ?
