Diagnosing plant diseases protects Florida's ecosystem and economy

Humans are not the only ones who need disease diagnosis - plants do too! Disease surveillance, diagnosis, treatment and prevention are essential to protect agriculture, the green industry and the natural ecosystem.
EPI member Carrie Harmon, Ph.D., an extension specialist in the University of Florida Department of Plant Pathology, leads the Plant Diagnostic Center. This unique service provides plant diagnostic knowledge and services to all of Florida and the southeast United States, as well as across the country as part of the National Plant Diagnostic Network.
