The $100 Hotel credit single booking spend can be achieved with any combination of cash/Citi points. So if it's $500 and you use $100 of the points, you get $100 off, spending $300 cash, AND you get 10X pts earned $30. So out of pocket would be $270 on a $500 booking via Citi's portal.
Thank you for pointing that out. Yes, you can pay using a combination of points and cash on the travel portal to qualify for the $100. Although, personally, I don't like to use points on the travel portal because I can get better return per point by transferring to travel partners.

It’s definitely an option to lower out of pocket cost.
