Seeing classic cars modded for the sake of being modded with cheaply made aftermarket parts can be a real nightmare. It can be tempting to "change things up" to set yourself apart from the crowd, but you never actually see a crowd of pristine classic cars like the E24 M6. These cars will stand out by being a perfect example of what they were always meant to be.

I hate the look of most all new cars today!! They are so ugly!!! They all look like stubby SUV’s! I was working in Beverly Hills in the ‘80’s and these were thee car !! It’s still my dream car!!!

I used to have a little scale diecast model of this car when I was about 10. I remember pushing it along our coffee table and floor dreaming it was the real thing. It was black, just like this. Watching this gave me those childish goosebumps. This guy is living my childhood dream. 😊
At night the cockpit feeling in these cars was even bigger being surrounded by orange lights. And when these engines rev under load: woaah! Great car.
A fabulous car, with real charisma and beautiful lines. Great performance and well engineered. All credit to the owner who is a connoisseur who appreciates a masterpiece, and preserves its originality.
Can't take my eyes from this car.. It is really one of the most beautiful bad ass looking cars ever made. Love you keep it original as it is perfect.
I remember first seeing the 6-series in 1977, and fell totally in love with its design.
I had a 2nd-hand red 87 635, bone stock, and loved it, despite the maintenance. Sold it for a profit even back in 2001. Crazy what they are worth now. Beautiful profile.

I already own a 2001 E38 735i and Idk there is something about these old BMW's that just ... activates a feeling I haven't had with any other car. I literally get goose bumps when I come down to my car each morning for my ride to work.
E24 has been a dream for long time. Such an amazing perfect car.

That my friend is pretty much automotive perfection. The E24 is such a handsome car, with a perfect stance. And being an M6 with a manual 'box, it doesn't get much better. I think they have to be in a dark colour too. With that shark nose front end, it just adds to the overall sinister look of them.

Loved my '89 635CSi white, tan and gold BBS...everywhere I went got tons of looks and compliments. Death by deer in the backroads of Jersey, I wept.

one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. The 507 looks maybe even better but this is at least par with Z8 and 3000CS series.
It's crazy to think that 17 years later we have the E63 M6 with a totally different look and a lot of times more modern than the E24

I like the Carquinez take and the Port Costa backroads to Martinez. Excellent choice to show off a California classic. The acr is immaculate and you cant go wrong with an M car.

Absolute perfect example of a 6 Series. I drove only one of these once that my brother in law owned and it was a smokey crock 633i auto but it felt great.

Just won an auction for an 88 same colors. I can't wait to get it home. I agree these were perfect from the factory.
I remember watching the TV series moonlight with Bruce Willis driving an M635 CSi. Loved this car since then (I was a child back then). I dont know why all new cars look so boring (Including new BMW's), maybe its because I'm getting into my 50's soon, however, this E24 was one of my 5 dream cars - and still is. Greedings from Greece!

I remember visiting my uncle in Kalamata and he had one of these. Driving around as passenger in it i was blown away by the abilities of this model. Considering the layouts of roads in Greece back in the day. The constant heat. There were five of us in the car most of the time and it didn't skip a beat.
This is exactly how I feel about my car. But hilarious how you quickly get past an airbag releasing for no reason that's wild🤣🤣

Two things ya gotta take care of: One, swap the steering wheel to the three-spoke M-Tech; And Two, fix that ABS wheels sensor. use your Multi-Meter to Ohm them and find the bad one(s). Otherwise, beauty of a car. I've owned a couple e24 M cars and hate that I ever sold them.
Its not a wheel sensor. And i want to keep the interior original. Thanks though. 👌🏼👌🏼

Oooh this is bringing back memories of an old 80's 7 series I had and sold for way too cheap. The story was a prince from Saudi Arabia was here in Canada going to school and brought this car from overseas but abandoned it here after it had transmission troubles. It was automatic and I can't remember the engine size but it was factory turbocharged!!!! There were stickers on it indicating it had been in the UK also. It would be cool to see it again

Love the E24, my regret is that I never got one, did the E28 M5, E34 M5, and then a mighty E39 M5.
I used to see one as I was walking home from school each. I thought it was a great looking car. Maybe one day.
The new M6 makes the Gen 1 E24 look better and better with age.

Well, back then 250 Km/h on top was something, even on the Autobahn.
Comfortable, relatively quiet,, suitable for longer journeys, and ...the most lovely straight 6 sound. What's not to like?
3 of my ALL TIME FAVE BMWs :-
- E30 3 series (had one - '88 E30 325i SE Auto in dark grey - LOVED IT, shame the new-ish Cam belt snapped lunching the engine 😫😫)
- 635 CSi (Haha, is it me or is this an 80's thing ? haha) Just LOVE that shark nose, the coupe shape (those BBSs are a delicious touch), WONDERFUL car!
- E39 5 series (525 or 530 - either D or i). I once worked as a security guard based in a compound where new Beemers were coming into the country here in the UK, and there was one of the last of the E39's (just as the ugly 'Jelly mould' models were released) parked up, DEEEEEP dark blue 530D with white creme leather interior... Man! I nearly "Creamed my jeans" when I saw her. ABSOLUTELY LOVE E39 5 series (including those my M's... 👌
Oh, forgot, just one more... The wedge 840/850 LOVE them too!
As for modern Beemers, only ONE has it for me the new M5 CS in that dark green, one VERY RAPID & CAPABLE 4 door!!! (and it doesn't that RIDICULOUS OVERSIZE GRILL (ahem M4!) 😎🇬🇧
