    Hi Andrew I found them a bit stiff I have just brought some luna sandals brilliant

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nice! Sandals will always be more flexible than barefoot shoes at the same thickness, although you do get more protection/security with a full enclosure vs straps. Enjoy!

    Hi, thanks for the review. Would you recommend those ones over the PRIMUS TRAIL III ALL WEATHER FG for all year round trail running and some road running as well? I live in southern Norway, so it's never super warm nor very cold. Right now I'm using the inov8 rocklite which are not waterproof and in winter I wear a waterproof sock inside (I usually don't get warm feet or don't sweet much). As I have been using barefoot shoes for anything else, I want to replace those inov8 with a barefoot model. I use daily the magma leather fg and I love the sensation. I also like built in sock so I am kinda interested by the primus trail knit but I am wondering which one will be most suited between the knit and all weather version.

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yea, especially if you're using WP socks. The Knit's are more comfortable, IMO, and more breathable in summer, but still decently warm in winter if you layer properly.

    Hey, would you have any preference between the traditional FG mesh upper and the knit, in terms of keeping the elements out? I appreciate that neither are advertised as waterproof/ resistant, I'm interested to know if there was much difference in keeping moisture out (wet grass?) and standing up against mud and dirt. Do you think the knit upper is less durable/ more likely to tear? Also, the Vivo website suggest taking a larger size in the traditional FG compared to the knit - have you noticed much difference in sizing? Thanks!

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Knit will keep more out, as it's a tighter weave. The Mesh has slightly better breathability and durability, although the latter doesn't really matter unless you're planning on running through a field of rose bush thorns or something, ha. The Knit's are slightly wider and a lot more comfortable and I prefer them overall.

    Great channel. Thank you. What’s your best all around barefoot road shoe? I do mostly walking and rucking on pavement and asphalt. I was looking at these but before I pull the trigger I would love your opinion. Thank you Andrew.

      My favorite road shoes are the Primus Lite Knit for cross-training th-cam.com/video/ydf1R2Z2KAY/w-d-xo.html and the Sensus for casual. th-cam.com/video/ARV_lCuxrco/w-d-xo.html The Trail FG is ok for short road milage, but it's too thick to use as your main road shoe. You want something that's 3-4mm thick max, so that you can land/roll smoothly on a hard, uniform surface, like pavement.

    any recommendations on minimal road running in rain and/or cold? I usually run with Altra Escalante / Racer and Injinji no show (normal or wool) but with rain and ~ 35 F I feel I need something else for those conditions

      Vivo Primus Lite All Weather bit.ly/48BJEEx or Primal RunAmoc th-cam.com/video/-e3j2_Zn8Lo/w-d-xo.html if you need extra-wide.

    Well, any of their footwear; or do any of their footwear come in extra-wide, ?something like the Realfoot shoes or the Sofstar switchback boots primal?

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not yet, but supposedly they're working on a project called Biome where you'll be able to order 3D printed shoes in any width/shape, custom fit to your feet. vivobiome.vivobarefoot.com

      That outstanding, that will be excellent to have those shoes/boots in a very ergonomic bio- mechanically fitted human foot shaped design.(anatomically oblique-spacious forefoot and toebox:) thanks for the info. I will stay abreast of that information.

    I'm torn between these and the Primus trail II- I live in Colorado and am looking for a dry weather trail runner-Super dry here and have my winter hikers already covered. Which do you prefer?

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Knit's are more roomy and comfortable, IMO. The only time I'd go with the regular mesh Trail is if you live in a super hot climate where you need max breathability.

    Just got these and the crease digs into my toes. Do you think this will soften up?

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't had any issues with creasing on these, but sometimes it can happen if the bend in your toes is hitting at the wrong place. Does it feel like they're too long/short?

    How much water protection do they woek in litel bit mud most rain

    • @AndrewFolts
      @AndrewFolts  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The bottom's and lower upper area have some good water resistance, but the tops will let in water if you go through deeper puddles or get strong rain coming down on the mesh. Def good for mud.
