Bwahahahahahahaha "In addition to the 8 srm 6's, you can't forget to use a super annoying war horn which will be played over your victims mangled carcasses". Now that's how you properly troll
It's a fun mech. Probably one of the best battlemech variants of that chassis. I don't run as many launchers on it so I can bump the speed up, but it's still effective even with five launchers.
I just tried this and don't know if it was different then but if you drop 2 missiles by putting 2 SRM2s+2xSRM6s instead of triple SRM6s your alphastrike is 86% instead of +100% heat without skills :)
I prefer 9x SRM2 chain fire. I've stood there facetanking assault mechs to the point they back off. You control the battlefield - Superb help for the whole team. But I am eager to try this 8x SRM6 build.
after watching your vid ...i then decide to buy ACW-1 only and for the first time i LOL when i kill the big juicy mech at the early game even if i die i still LOL...having fun.....
Clan srms sorta feel like their version of rockets (just with reloads and no minimum range). It's really not my style to hope the enemy leaves an opening for me to get really close and the huge srm volleys spread too much and are too hot to feel good about using them at further ranges. Watching your first game it feels a little mean bullying all those lower tiered pugs. They just wanted to lrm and er large in peace.. 8 srm6's is almost unprecedented! ;) I would personally do a very different skill tree set up. I would look to get nodes like high explosive as the increased crits would boost my effective firepower against open components (like a mech butt (also more ct ammo explosions XD)). For mobility I wouldn't get the extra spare kinetic burst 4, I'd take the torso yaws* and anchor turn** to help with things like turning and shooting (I like to zig zag for evasion and shoot over my shoulder). Radar derp makes a lot of sense, though personally I'd ditch it for other trees. I'd equip a uav and a coolshot or two as intel is vital for these kinds of flanks and it gets toasty quickly and against mechs like that laser-boat hunchie the additional bit of sustain is what's needed to finish them off in good time. Though if it were me, I would go a different route and put a narc and streak on it. :p *I'd go torso yaw 3 & 4 rather than hard brake 3 and kinetic burst 5 **Near the bottom, anchor turn 3 & 4 rather than torso speed 4 & 5
Ah both games were played in T1, though nowadays opponents can be anywhere from T4 on up in the solo queue. The extra kinetic burst I think was just an extra node I had to spend somewhere. I felt the acceleration nodes would be helpful when needing to change directions to get out of bad situations. I mentioned before as well, normally players with a lot of CBills should get the consumable nodes. My main account already is starting to get to a good CBill state so I'll eventually be switching some builds to use them.
I bought the Arctic Wolf hero during the Dog event because i had the MC left, now i almost regret not buying the 1 variant. But i like your in-game nick, is that your secondary account or did you change name?
It's a mix of different influences hehe. One of them was when I went to Japan, they had an serious obsession with squid and octopus, so that's something you don't forget.
Depends on your build and chassis. Poke lights like 4xERML ACH usually carry hotter mid and long range weapons, they trade DPS and overall damage output per match for more consistency. Backstab short range lights trade consistency for potentially more contribution in certain games and usually require more skill to pilot.
That's one of the milder reactions I've seen today. I wouldn't get into too much of a hurry to update, just in case some of the changes are walked back.
I'm not happy but I don't often play the mechs that are worst affected by the change anyway. It's the lower tier clan lights/meds that are going to be hurt the most. In the other video, my newbie HBR build I simply swap out 2 ERML for 1 ERLL. 3 pts less alpha and more range beyond ERML's optimal. The 2xLPL 4xERML build is not affected at all. The top tier mechs still got good options, whereas the Adder, Viper, or or Ice Ferret get maybe their best builds taken away.
Fortunately Russ, on his twitter account, announced that the laser nerfs are rolled back for now. We have at least one more month. Suggested maybe a PTS to test them
Hope they carry through. They got the right source of the problem, ie, cERML is the biggest factor in the clan laser vomit meta, but their fix creates more problems than it solves. Also cMPL, is not even an issue right now, wtf :-/
this is totaly O.K. but rockets need a minimum range and have one shot which you can screw up or don't get the right angle. I know it's just one mech .... no there other mechs that can pull this amount of firepower, maybe not as sneaky or fast. and if a is mech can pull something like this of it's still ONE shot. One, compared to how many can you hypothetically kill with this? on IS it's clearly and will always be ONE

its fun to watch this with automatic captions. Google thinks you saw an O'Ryan near Mecca and hit it with Assyrians. Oo
:-|
Dude you deserve more subs
Your content is smart and consistent!
ty!

Hey John, it's probably even the better way to run it. You also get an ECM with 5 launchers on the omni versions.
I just tried this and don't know if it was different then but if you drop 2 missiles by putting 2 SRM2s+2xSRM6s instead of triple SRM6s your alphastrike is 86% instead of +100% heat without skills :)
*(in the arms)
I think they changed how the ghost heat scaled up since the video was made, I don't think you can fire 8xSRM6 without shutting down anymore.
I contend that the Diamond Shark warhorn would be a better choice. The "Jaws" theme started playing in my head when you snuck up on those mechs.
For this move, yeah it seems appropriate.
That or the jack o'lantern one.
That's another hilarious one, lol
I run this build consistently. Its not even a troll build, its insanely OP.
that's just so dirty .. and looks like so much fun

I think the metabuild for the ACW-1 is something like 4xSRM4 5xSRM2. 8xSRM6 is only for trolling ;)
lol this is great. the true "Assassin"
Lmao the Hunchback pilot's name is from Monster Girl Quest.
Had to Google that lol
An awesome video, thank you
Thank you. I'll give it a shot.
Fun vid! Thanks for making them!
Thank you!
just keep it green and call it hulk.... hulk SMASH
I like that hehe.
Hope you enjoy your time off!
Thank you!
after watching your vid ...i then decide to buy ACW-1 only and for the first time i LOL when i kill the big juicy mech at the early game even if i die i still LOL...having fun.....
Haha great :D Well you know they increased the ghost heat on the SRM6s so you will overheat and maybe die if you alpha.

Bwahahaha... One of my favorite warhorns. I run it on my HBR that I torch enemies mercilessly with.
:D
Holy crap lol. I'd be fuming if I was on the other side, but I'm not so it's ok to laugh :)
Haha!
The Kitfox was pretty mad xD
He was super unlucky. I would have fell victim to the same thing.
This is why I put Seismic on EVERYTHING. :)
Haha! Good stuff!
I bought the Arctic Wolf hero during the Dog event because i had the MC left, now i almost regret not buying the 1 variant.
But i like your in-game nick, is that your secondary account or did you change name?
Haha, yeah it's a secondary account. I used to use it to hide from people, but now it's just another place to store/buy mechs.
I would really like to know how you came up with THAT nickname.
It's a mix of different influences hehe. One of them was when I went to Japan, they had an serious obsession with squid and octopus, so that's something you don't forget.
I like both squid and octopus on my sushi XD
lol CIRKEL hahaha
so what i am wondering is .. how do light mechs perform in this game?
Depends on your build and chassis. Poke lights like 4xERML ACH usually carry hotter mid and long range weapons, they trade DPS and overall damage output per match for more consistency. Backstab short range lights trade consistency for potentially more contribution in certain games and usually require more skill to pilot.
When I try this build I shutdown from ghost heat?
They increased the ghost heat on more than 4 SRM6s since this video was made. It'll still work, you just have to separate the shots.
Yeah, you're definitely gonna need a new Hellbringer build when you get back. Your laser builds won't work anymore.
I'm updating it via comments ***sigh****
That's one of the milder reactions I've seen today. I wouldn't get into too much of a hurry to update, just in case some of the changes are walked back.

So how is this game now? I used to play it in the early days, but got bored. Is it still heavy in the pay to win, stuff?
I'm not sure when you quit but it's not very P2W right now
It was early, early, before the clans and faction play and they were still selling gold skins. XD
Yeah, so it's a lot better now. Currently most of the best mechs can be bought with cbills.
Are hero variants still mandatory?
Nope
oh hey i bought like 20 of these today
Hah enjoy!
same
I run this mech with 4 srm6 and 5 srm2 with more versatile results.
Results isnt the point.

You maybe able to do it on an Archer 5W, but it's much much slower. Gotta be very lucky to get it to work with IS.
LRM's on an Arctic Wolf? Why?
Steven Wiederholt if it can mount missiles, noobs will LURM it
Jaevwyn
Would it be considered to harsh if we horsewhipped people who did that? :-)
Steven Wiederholt I feel like it'd be our duty if anything :)
Jaevwyn
Its not like they don't deserve it. :-)
wtf....
