Awesome origin story. Your dad was a smart man. My dad died in March. He turned himself inside-out in order to not burden us kids and when he died he had nothing left to give....except 2 mercury dimes. I got one and my brother got the other. I am so thankful for that small gift.
May the Lord in heaven rest your father's soul. I'm sure he was a great man that you admired and adored. I'm sorry for your lost and I hope from here on are better days for you. God bless you and your family and have a good weekend.
What a nice collection. A beautiful shared stack with your father. May it bring you joy and comfort in the years ahead. One day it will be many times the size and you may leave it to someone you love as your father loved you.
I just started stacking two years ago. I know it’s mainly to preserve wealth but I am up over 40% over my cost. My average silver eagle cost is $27. Good luck, have fun and make money. I have not watched the entire show so I hope you have stocked up on 90%. Johnny Bryant. Monroe Georgia
btw/ For Philharmonics (not Britannia) Air-tite Direct Fit capsule H38 size fits fine, with only a slight bit of looseness. I don't do the ring type capsules as I want to see the edges/rims of my coins. Nice stack and fun with tubes! Glad you're carrying on your dad's passion!
Looks like you're doing quite well for only 4 months. Over time, you'll find what you like and don't like, and you'll find your unique footing within the hobby. It's one of the few hobbies that has the added benefit of securing your financial future at the same time. I suggest that you start dipping your toe into fractional Gold as well. I'm currently putting together a tube of forty 1/4 ounce Gold Eagles, and then I'm going to start working on a second tube of 1/10 ounce Gold Eagles. Anyway, great job! Welcome aboard the financial freedom train! Keep stacking!
I *may do gold eventually but obviously exponentially more expensive and I have some big vintage baseball cards on my want-list that will take precedence.
@@jonathanritter7364 Yeah, but if your goal is to preserve your largest universe of possible buyers in the future, then the premium is 100% worth it. It depends on why you are stacking it in the first place. If its for retirement, yeah, buy larger quantities. if it's for a multiplicity of reasons, you want to avoid making assumptions about who will be available or how easy it will be to liquidate it. That's why you want to preserve that largest possible universe of buyers.
Thanks for sharing the story! I just had my son and I'm definitely planning on passing on my collection. Hopefully he also enjoys it and doesn't sell it :-)
Hi NYYanksFan7! Nice collection, congratulations on your 4 year milestone! It's really easy to fall in love with silver coins! I just subscribed to your channel, Nice Video Content! 😎🏆 I have a collection of Morgans, and American Silver Eagle Proofs. Let me know if you have any questions...
Nice collection, how much have you spent on capsules and tubes? Most of these are just bullion coins, you could have many more ounces if you don’t buy casuals and tubes. Then you have Proof state 1/4s bare in a tube?? I don’t understand. The mint doesn’t send Eagles, Britannia’s, maples and Phillies in capsules, so why spend extra, protect the rare and special ie: the proof coins, not the generic sovereign stuff.
I would suggest that, in the future, you buy the Maple Leaf tubes (same for the American Silver Eagles). Sealed, they will properly protect your silver just as well and costs less - leaving more money for metal. SD Bullion also has Maple and ASE monster boxes (empty) you can purchase to store tubes.OnFireGuy also has the tubes for Guardhouse boxes for your 90% silver.
Looks awesome, great job! Going crazy with the capsules buddy, but do what you want, great to be an American! Put those super tall proof dimes in a penny tube. I accidently ordered 100 - 1 cent penny tubes and the dimes fit fine, just extra head space.
Those were philharmonics not Britannia’s. Nice stack for 4 months!! 😮 I wanted to get the caps and tubes originally but I just ended up keeping them in the mint tubes.
If you're worried about deteroration of the coins, if you have them in airitites, you don't need the tubes. Does it hurt to put them in the tubes? Of course not and it does make it easier to organize your coins.
He gave me the stuff shown in videos uploaded a few months ago. Everything here, except for the tube of 64 Kennedy half dollars, is what I've added to that.
Similar story didnt know my father coin collected. Inherited some coins and thru them in the safe for 7 years or so. Then about 3 years ago got into collecting and researching with the kids now i buy regularly every paycheck try and put half my pay towards stacking. I love it more than my 2 strokes and my pew pews lol.
Those are nice but with the added expense and storage displacement, is it worth it to put everything in capsules? I have my sovereigns in the plastic tubes like your kangaroos. Of course you can do what you want and will find that your tastes will probably change after time. I just spent money on things I really didn't need when I first started stacking. In the end for most of us, it's all about weight. Sorry for your loss.
At the rate you are stacking, I highly recommend you go to a lock & safe store to get a proper safe to store your metal. Standard gun safes aren’t enough unless (maybe) you have a REALLY good security system.
Funny, I switched to stacking strictly 10oz bars and not coins because I KNOW I WOULD CAP EVERYTHING IF I DID. SO now i stick to 10oz RCM or Brit bars to make life easy and cap those.
My favorite is sovereign coins. Then 10oz bars, Constitutional and end with rounds. Fractional sovereign gold. Mexico 10 peso gold seems to be the best bang for the buck. .2411 ozt at 90% gold and British Sovereign gold low premiums. My choices.
That 8th era is a mobil game. To be able to get that coin star privy, you have to be at level 7. Then you are able to purchase it at $80 with ms70 ncg grade.
Sounds like you're ready to get some gold. Good job so far. If it were me I would buy the quarter ounce gold commemorative. They are never faked, most are proofs, low mintage, U.S. coin etc. But the best part is you can buy them for about spot price. You can also get the fancy box for free if you're into that.
I actually did that but didn't get a response. However, I was able to repurpose those tubes for other ones that could accept the plunger cap so nothing was wasted.
silver is the best investment even though its being suppressed in price by the bankers. you have 1000 paper dollars to every real ounce of silver. we have massive dollar printing going on. it ends when the demand skyrockets or the brics countries stop accepting dollars for trade
Those are philharmonics not Britannia's my good sir. So sooooo sorry to hear ab your friend 😢 you are continuing “his stack” in honor of his legacy 💔 jeez i would want a free stack so badly but I couldn’t imagine a dying friend gifting me his I would probably cry every time I looked at it
Good grief....I know the difference I just happened to make the wrong reference when recording the video and didn't realize the mistake until after it was uploaded. Not THAT big of a deal IMO.
The purchase of those caps/tubes has/had no impact on my ability to add more to the collection. I maybe spent ~$150 on them, so what's that, like 4 or 5 more sovereign coins? Yeah...you're right. The stack would have been "a lot bigger" with those included.
Look pretty experienced for only 4 months in! U sure? I mean the S d bullion bag ? Something tells me u trying to get sd attention for future vids or u already hooked in there grasps! I could be wrong so forgive me if I am because I love the story on the in law to boot
You don't buy what you like ...in all silver ...you will never part with it ...I have a ton of silver rounds ...I don't like ...they will be first to go ....and I have $100 face in old dimes and quarters ...they will go next ....then the bars are next ....and I have a 100 ounce brick ...that will go at the peak of prices ....

Only thing about the fractional gold is that you are paying so much more for smaller quantities when you do the math.

Where are you buying from. Local or a site?
So far it's been a combination of some of the larger online dealers like SD Bullion and Monument Metals, etc and also eBay.
@ Thank you for the info.
Where did you get the red topped tubes that hold the air tights
onfireguy.com/
U called the phillharmonics britanias
Maybe you can reach out to fire guy and order just the caps only to replace the plunger style caps

Link to the coin tubes ?
onfireguy.com
By the way. Monument Metals for best prices
Why do you put the coins in capsules if you store them in a tube?
Capsules just work as a confidence booster to help fill empty space in your safe
I just happen to like the way they look in capsules...and I don't have a safe.
Save on premium buy capsules. Ended up more expensive hahah
