Reagarding printing lettering - you do know you can print with different color filaments? Just put pause in the gcode (height) where letters come, and change filament from black to white, resume printing and that's it. No need to manually paint lettering.

Yes, I've done that with an autopilot panel I'm building.
The G1000 uses painted buttons so you can backlight the buttons. Life has been really busy the last 6months but just finishing the final programming of the unit and should have the video up by the end of the month.. the white print painted black than file the paint off the lttering for backlighting has turned out very cool... watch for the video in a few weeks 😊

I am impressed with the detail you get on the button lettering. What nozzle size and printer settings do you use to get such a fantastic result?

Just using the0.4 nozzle than came with my Ender 3. For the layer height I dropped down to 0.12mm and did a 50% infill of the button. Which made the top layer the lettering starts on a nice flat surface. Also printed each button 1 at a time, which I think also helped to keep things clean.
Hopping to get this done, and a second built ad well over the Christmas break as work has been too busy last few months to get back to it. Thanks for watching.

Do you have or do you know of a video that shows how to get the video from the flight sim onto the MFD and PFD? I would like to build my own G1000 units, but I am not very experienced in the software aspect of the flight sim world.

I will have a video up next week, hopefully covering this subject. I've built a new G1000 just waiting for a few little parts to come in, so I can finish the video. If you're using MSFS, it's a mouse and keyboard combo press to pop out the PFD/MFD sub panel so you can move it to the home built G1000
