DPA 4006-TL, 2006A, 4090, 4011A, 2011C & Schoeps CMC64 on Yamaha Grand Piano | Microphone Comparison

はじめに無指向性（Omni）のDPA 4006-TL、2006A、4090の比較を、続いて単一指向性（Cardioid）のDPA 4011A、2011C、Schoeps CMC64の聴き比べを収録しています。また、「DPAの2000番台ってどうなの？」という声に答えるべく、DPAの4000番台のマイクと2000番台のマイクの聴き比べもできるようにしておきました。
低音が聞こえやすいヘッドフォンもしくはスピーカーでの視聴をおすすめします。

Thanks for doing this. I like both the dpa and schoeps. Comparing the cardiods I think the 4011's have more clarity and punchy transients. The schoeps have more "vibe" and color and sound a bit more vintage. I think with your mic placement and piano setup I prefer the sound of the 4011's. Perhaps on a more stridently voiced piano or with the mics placed closer to where the hammers hit the strings I'd like the schoeps more though :)

Thanks for your comments, the 4011 has a lot of punch and the sound is very clear. schoeps is better suited for classical music.

I always prefer Omni as it captures more color and resonance that directional mics. I would’ve like the Schoeps MK-2 for comparison against the DPA omnis.

They all sound really close to the same except the cardioids to omni's to my ears.

That’s why Schoeps is king in symphonic & classical recording world. I have 2 pair and they have made me lots of $$
