That engine is not running right. That thing should be fairly Zippy with a 2000 cc Porsche engine. It definitely needs a lot of mechanical work. Should rename video "Most Dangerous Drives".

No. Factory is one exhaust port. The problem is that a factory correct exhaust is NLA and ex[pensive for a VW. In 2010, a guy quoted me 1200 for a USED one... so with the mods like dual carbs, whoever was in here also modified the exhaust.

And the older buses are WORSE !! As for speed, I had my 76 2L up to 85K mph on the flat before the fan belt flew off !
No fan belt on a late bay....duh
