I have watched a good majority of your videos, and have not really felt a need to comment until now. I think it is safe to say, that Mrs. Heir definitely needs to become a regular on your channel! Also, I was wondering if you could do a couple of videos on using terrain and line of sight. A lot of your online battles tend to be head to head, open field battles. However some hints and tips about defending hills and choke points, using forests for ambushing, etc. would be appreciated!

Velites first, skimishing, then Hastati meat-shields (young romans), then they retire though gaps of princeps, who then set their battle line and attack.

If players want to see how a unit controlled by the AI performs, test against the AI. If players want an assesment of how they do when used optimally, test with humans. Players make ridiculous claims based on what the AI does. Classic Dunning-Kruger. Attacking Testudo is MLG against missiles - say hello to 85% missile block chance. Dies to cavalry and infantry though, but can be nice. The map you played on is a perfect example of a map where barbarians do poorly against Rome -plenty of terrain to break the charge. Even against 8 Followers, Veterans/Evocati tank it extremely well.
Michael Bialas what Connor said. You and I have used it, and it makes the already powerful Roman infantry more powerful.... though to be fair we're using it against the AI so against humans we prob might get slaughtered by Morgan Freeman :P

Praetorian Guard vs. Oathsworn I feel need to be tested with another player because the AI is too dumb to use them how they should and it's not a fair fight (plus the Oathsworn used head hunt 3 times and use the whip wasn't even used late battle. *cough Praetorians ftw cough*).
Strangely enough I find I run faster and longer in the forest, I spent a lot of my childhood in the forests. I find it gives me an energy that I would never get in town.

Praetorian Guards are good at being backup troops or if you put them on the flanks. Cav from the front is basically useless because of the pila and if you have the second wind general you can just keep using "Use the whip" on them. I played a few battles with them and brought them out at the end of the battle and they won it for me because the enemy was weakened so much it was basically stabbing hay :)
It seems ironic that disciplined, coordinated Roman troops are outperformed in open battle on a flat plain while Barbarian troops are at a disadvantage in the forest, what I always understand as their home turf. In mrs Heirs defence so were most armies during those time not professional soldiers but levied peasants (and other civilians). That even caused for example Alexander the greats campaign to halt and abruptly stop due to peasants wanting back to their families and farms.
It was nice to meet Mrs Heir she sounds nice but didn't sound like she was particularly fascinated by the game but i respect her taste in Mario Kart. I think Romans should get some sort of bonus on an open field, like bracing or some sort of buff, and the barbarian get a charge bonus on the forest cover or something, kinda bugs me that the romans actually do better in forest since it goes against their true attributes and the pros and cons that come with it.

Pretorians are comparable to Oath, however, Rome has unique advantage of fielding elite-mainline sword hybrids (evocati /vet legio) which no other faction has. If they would only had cohorts or principes, people would take them as well. 2nd thing, those tests are not good, AI is slightly buffed vs player, AI uses HH way too early, and formation attack can be on or off if human player chooses (vs Oath I would probably leave it on, it's primarily defensive feature)
Oathsworns Oath: Whenever i go into battle in my green pukeish armor I vow to always be constipated and jump um and down no matter how hard it bothers me and also to serve patchy nicely so he wont horse whip them as hard as baby heir would

I will never understand fully the stat system in Rome 2. How can a unit with 62 Melee attack not wipe the floor with any unit?
Because their charge bonus is pitiful. They should beat anything in normal circumstances, but will always get outcharged by an elite barbarian unit.

Charge bonus gives an increase to both melee attack and weapon damage. On the charge, Oathsworn take it. Without a charge, Praetorian Guard take it.
