At this point Rockstar should hire the modders instead of suing them. The modders do a heck of a lot better with remastering the game than the actual developers of this de-master.
They have gone the Nintendo route of completely shitting on their fan base and community who just simply want to play their games in the best way possible.
"Yeah, Bethesda is shit, but at least we got CDPR" A couple of years later... "Yeah, CDPR is shit, but at least we got Rockstar" I wonder what company will be next
Well, Rockstar wasn't always good tho. Sure, they made the tps free roam genre more popular but still, you don't know how many corpses are beneath those games
The games weren't remade in Unreal engine, they are basically still the originals with all the original code, they just created a translation layer to tell Unreal what to render and added some "fancy" new effects, lighting, textures and models... so that's why the hot coffee code is still in there, they didn't even bother to check...
@@zerdagdir1988 You know, this makes me wonder; depending on how early the source code they've used is, maybe people can find even more stuff about some of the cut content of the earlier games... Or not, depends, but it'd be fun to check nonetheless.
If you’re having a weird day at work, just remember that you could’ve been the guy who had to code a bangin’ simulator within a gangster simulator in the PS2 era for a living wage.
And then you have to remove it before launch, only you didn't remove it, you just disabled it and modders bring it back and Rockstar gets fined by the FTC
You would only think that if you didn't know that they used to be called "War Drum Studios" and were responsible for the previous atrocious San Andreas "remaster".
I have to wonder how Huge One feels about all of this, considering that the classic GTA trilogy for the PS2 (GTA San Andreas in particular) is played and adored more by him than just about anyone else known on the Twitch and TH-cam gaming scene here? To see what should've been the new era of this epic saga being introduced to the young gamers of today as well as a true breath of fresh air that has that lovely familiar scent by the much more seasoned gaming people, *sad to see how the mighty have fallen...*
I don’t expect anything from EA/Rockstar/Activision Blizzard etc but somehow I am disappointed anyway (even though I rarely buy their products anymore).
I used to find these shitshows hilarious and find joy in them, watching a company fail. Now as they become more common, I just become more depressed by them. Showing that these companies no longer care about their products they ship out, and definitely that they don't care about us.
the modding community did a terrific job, there are teams of 2 or 3 people who've done more than the entire rockstar team. It's just a shameful cashgrab.
If I were in charge of a video game company and random modders did a better job on my company’s games than my own company, I wouldn’t sue them; I’d hire those guys.

It's unfair to blame testers for stuff like this involving major studios, more often than not the testers will find the exact things that players do, but the studio will ignore the testers
True. True. That's why i can't honestly fault Grove-street Games too much for this debacle. They bit off more than they could chew and for that they should've known better being a mobile game studio and all. But Rockstar gave it their stamp of approval and in so doing said "This product is good to go for our customers"
I’m not defending this game or Rockstar at all but they do have GTAV and RDR2. So they have the ability to make really great games. Now, everyone is sick of GTAV which definitely makes sense. RDR2 was a masterpiece. But this trilogy is an absolute disaster and just shows the laziness and how much they seem to not give a shit about putting out good quality games anymore.
Because it's not Rockstar who made the Trilogy ( or under GSG name so R* doesn't have to take that much responsibility for it ). The whole trilogy was probably ported and "improved" by like 3-5 ppl from Grove Street Games. The hands of Ryder is just a proof that skeletons weren't remade, they literally just imported the original stuff from the old games and swapped models and the models itself is rushed. Same could've been with other 3d assets ( Source 3D Assets are usually way more detailed than in-game or it's easy to improve the quality/detail by subdividing the mesh as source ones has good topology so it's way easier to edit than "ripped" triangulated ones ).
I know why this happened. When the Cyberpunk fiasco happened, people were comparing Cyberpunk 2077 with Red Dead Redemption 2, and how much better and more polished RDR2 was. People were contemning CDPR, while praising Rockstar. But Rockstar was jealous. They wanted that sweet, reputation-shattering juice too. So they made this piece of shit. Truly exceptional.
They didn't even make it, they outsourced it to the same people that made the turd that is the mobile release and the Xbox "remaster". It's like they wanted it to be horrible.
The first statement of "always keep your expectations low so even if the tiniest thing happens in a positive light it feels like a great outcome. " is exactly how I used to think.
Be Rockstar > Earn billions by re-releasing the same game since 2013 > Hire some kids tasked to remaster a masterpiece as part of their school project, so that you can make another couple of billions.
What doesn't make any sense is that games like The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 exist and on top of that the sex in GTA SA doesn't have nudity so there shouldn't be an issue keeping the code, it's already rated M and those games are also M.
@@thegamerfe8751 well apparently back then or maybe even now it would have been rated Adult 18+ which would have took it out of stores like Walmart etc that don’t allow games of that rating
@@Trashweebx I was given first hand info off a friend who went thru them all on SA n said they worked I’ve also seen footage again first hand but yeah it’s possible some are missing or not working
They seem to have forgotten that the cartoonish look of the originals was mostly a compromise to bridge the gap between ambition and technical limitations - not let’s go loony tunes for the aesthetic. What they’ve done is closer to those botched art restorations done by grandmas than a proper remaster in keeping with the source.
Rockstar has made so much damn money, I don’t understand how they couldn’t do a properly quality control check. This new trilogy feels like a low budget project.
It’s not low budget, rockstar just doesn’t care anymore because they know that if they can sell shark cards to their fans, they can sell literally anything to them
Trilogy will sell anyways. And so what if they made lots of money? They want all of the money. Not some, not lots. All So they'll save money wherever they can while doing whatever will bring as much money as possible
Defending the game because "it's just a remaster" makes no sense. Both remakes and remasters means the game is supposed to play better than the original, this is definitely not the case here. Not only it plays worse but the fact that this comes right from the devs is such a joke, because years and years ago the modders did a 100 times better job improving both the graphics and the gameplay of this game
its a remaster, and a fantastic one at that, its a better controlled, better looking and just a overall perfect remaster. remasters are supposed to be as close to the original as physically possible, and these remasters are literally the same game.
That car materializing thing is my major concern, especially the fact there's a few race missions. If those cars get out of your sight they win because no cars will spawn in their way, they get a blank track. Meanwhile you are fighting the constantly spawning traffic, and boy is there a lot of traffic lol
What did you expect? It’s insane to think people actually bought this garbage and thought it would be good. Rockstar gets away with this because of the idiots that buy remastered video games.
Funny you mention the missing songs! Turns out they're all still in the game files and can even still play in the game even though Rockstar lost the rights to them. There's essentially a playlist file that lists which songs should actually play in the game, so instead of just deleting the songs, they just set a flag to 0
That's probably the real reason the game got pulled. They don't have the rights to distribute the songs anymore, but accidentally did so. They're opening themselves up to massive lawsuits so they're scrambling to fix the problem.
@@Qorelin They deserve those lawsuits. Literally, they just did it. I hope it doesn't matter that they pulled it soon after, this needs to be a teaching moment.

Leaving me without a way to play the game for months. A decade and a half later Rockstar releases GTA the trilogy the definitive addition with the Hot Coffee mod back in the code for San Andreas the game is taken down from the rockstar games launcher and my copy for PC is not able to be played. Time is cyclical baby!

The "remastered" Denise made me physically recoil...now my excitement for that nostalgic hit is turned down a notch or three. I gotta appreciate muta for the level of realistic expectation he consistently brings to light lol
OMG I love this comment!!! I literally felt the same way. When I seen the title before clicking, I had to thank him, because I was (and still kinda is) set on getting this version of the trilogy. But I had to thank him making me second guess my financial decisions for once 🤣🤣🤣
i got a copy recently. figured it had been a couple years so many of the issues would’ve been resolved. i didnt have to pay full price, a local store had it marked down to like $27. for that price, i had a good time with the games. i can understand why this would infuriate people to no end though, especially if they paid full price
I dont consider it "piracy" when you literally cannot buy the game anymore. Buying it second hand is just the same, not like Rockstar or anyone other then the 3rd seller will see that money anyway.
I have tested GTA SA Remastered in Gamepass and then I have pirated the other games to know what to expect. I bought the original GTA trilogy back then, San Andreas thrice (PC, Original Xbox, Mobile trash port on Xbox) and I don't really feel bad not giving them a dime now. Maybe if they patch some stuff and lower the price, but not like this. Rockstar made enough money of me already.
Yeah, I don't get the morality issue either, not only is Rockstar a big gaming company which makes billions of dollars each year it's also an old game that the company doesn't even sell anymore. So, you're forced to buy it out of a third-party, and if you're buying out of that then the money wouldn't even go to the devs anyway; so just save yourself the time and money, and just pirate it.
I was expecting a gaming Renaissance when cyberpunk came out. When it flopped, I thought "Aw shit, it's a dark age isn't it?". With every passing day, I'm starting to think it really is.
@@GG-ou7it to me, if its not multiplayer, not that good, generic, a no soul money grabber i will pirate it. better to spend the money on the indie games. they might not be as big and polished, but are really unique and worth the money.
We've been slowly declining into dark ages of AAA games for a decade or so. Cyberpunk and this... Reimagination(?) of GTA trilogy are more of a byproduct of said decline than reasons for it. But don't worry, indie games are always capable of producing gold, so there is that.
Pfft, people think it's all bad when some triple A crap doesn't do well. It's no secret that it's tough with creative freedom and development when it comes to these types of titles. Even if devs have good intentions (even that's not always), some wacky assclown in a cheap business suit who thinks he knows everything about customers and business in general will tell devs to cut corners here and there, ultimately ruining what was originally planned. I've stopped having expectations a long time ago with them (maybe that's why Cyberpunk 2077 disaster didn't faze me at all. Good amusement though). Just like G G said here, indie games and Japan is where it's at. Although, if you're not that familiar with Japan's "weirdness", you might be put off a bit... Which is why I highly suggest to play Yakuza 0. No, seriously, do that, it's an awesome game.
Here's the thing: from my understanding a lot of code in DE is directly taken from the originals, like the mission scripts including the Hot Coffee scripts. Hot Coffee wasn't a mod per se, it only enabled a function left in the game. That's why R* got in that fiasco, because they coded the entire thing but disabled it before release, and the mod simply shined some light on it. War Drum Studios (yes, DE is made by the same people that did the botched mobile and console ports) did a bigger mess with DE than with the mobile ports, leaving much more of the source material that R* made back in the 2000's and that's the issue.
Only GTA would become a mobile bootleg of itself Let's look back at Mafia: Definitive Edition. A beloved classic brought in to a beautiful new world with new controls and new content in the ending. Truly the Definitive experience for the game. It really helps you see when a re-release "Definitive edition" is a cash grab.
Plus they brought back ALL the songs from the original AND added more. They went out of their way to pay more money to renew the licenses for Mafia. That's effort and care. That's what a Definitive edition supposed to be.
@@naminatorsalamander2670 What irks me a lot is they are charging 60$. Spyro is a fucking masterpiece of a remake imo. Yet they charged only 40$ for the entire trilogy on release. Dude that new mafia game looks so good.. I think I'll buy it, as for this I'd rather not ruin the good memories I have of playing the old rockstar titles . This is really sad..
as someone who actually uses unreal engine, allow me to explain what happened here. rockstar didn't want to actually spend the effort to reanimate the entire game so instead they transferred the existing animations onto a new character rig that those animations didn't fit. there was a very simple series of steps by which they could have automagically transferred those animations to a bigger or smaller character without breaking the rig; we do that all the time and it generally requires very little manual tweaking which was also clearly not done. additionally the new characters they did use were very poorly rigged and even an automatic mixamo rig would have been better however again rockstar didn't want to have to relink the bones which would have been advantageous for them because they were lazy and just threw a new skybox on, instanced in some new palm tree assets and reskinned their old character rigs and called it a day
Rockstar didn't actually do this, it was another smaller company they contracted and I believe they were under major crunch time. Matt McMuscles has a Wha Happun on it that goes into the details.
The early-late 2000s really was a different breed for games. Nowadays, there are so many half-assed games released out there with very few exceptions. It’s only the modders who are doing a better job keeping these games alive tbh.
@Tinchorubio6 I agree with you both difference was you had the “official” games, unofficial and then bootlegs (very special games), a lot of big companies now just don’t care about quality and shit out games to make money but if you look around you will find some decent games by big companies: Metroid dread, classic franchise but actually a modern game that does it justice. But there are loads of smaller companies making great games that are maybe not as well known as they should be but they are in a sea of shitty, mass produced games. You can find TH-cam channels easily enough that cover some of the gems, like the guy who plays Souls-like games; if you like platformers, rogue likes or dark souls there is actually a good amount of games he covered well worth buying even if you aren’t into dark souls itself.
It’s absolutely embarrassing what they did with this game. They completely ruined a great opportunity because of laziness and greed. Shame on Rockstar and Groove Street Games! They took a mobile port with all it’s bugs, and never even looked at the older bugs to fix them first; just improved textures/weather effects and that was it.
@@Unpar_Guki Personally I believe they were way out of their depth (especially working on three games). Rockstar should have dealt with this internally, or hired a reputable company that specialise in remakes & remasters.
manually recreating is done in a remake. This is a remaster. So basically a more polished and newer look but keeping the charm the old games had. Thats why it looks kinda weird cuz faces in the old games were that badly made. It’s just made clearer now because they made the faces clearer
This was 100% done using ai remastering software, but without the polishing part. You usually spend quite a bit of time fixing these things, its insane that they just threw it out there like this.

He told me when we had a break that he was the one that made that Mod and that he almost got in trouble for it. I was amazed to hear he was the person that actually made such a popular mod xd
The only reason they took the old versions of the games down was to limit review bombing. I cant wait for a Digital Foundry breakdown of the performance of these games (if they do one that is)
Hey Muta, addressing the point you made at around 8:30 minute mark - There's a high chance that the QA Dept -did- see these issues and reported them. Developers tend to ignore even the most blatant problems because they have to fit in an unrealistic timeframe. If it's anyone's fault, it's Rockstar's, or Take Two's I suppose for making the studio release an unfinished game.
Exactly. I used to work in QA for interplay and THQ about 20 years ago. QA finds a LOT more than what is fixed. That's not to say that QA finds everything but game devs definitely don't fix all the bugs QA finds. The stuff we're seeing in GTA was more than likely reported by QA but the higher ups deemed not a priority.
Grove Street Games seems to have a terrible time with GTA games though, or at least the PS3/XB360 ports of San Andreas, considering that they're literally just the same thing as the mobile ports with all the same bugs
QA testers are also notoriously disregarded, disrespected, and just in general not respected enough at all. There was actually a dude who broke his NDA to expose Treyarch for treating their QA testers like shit.
:raised_hand: game artist here, I can explain what's I think is going on with the 7 and 9 shirt. More than likely they're pulling textures from a folder in some automated way. Engineer says get: assetType_textureType_ rig_character_whatever and sombody accidently put the normal map or bump map from 7 into the 9 folder. So now 7's normal is with 9's base color. I'm assuming the character models can change out cloths for diversity in the game world. If that's not right and it's just a base map issue, then corners were just cut or the upscale algorithm just didn't do this one well... idk. Something happened
They didn’t even uncompressed the audio it really feels weird seeing the visuals and hearing the audio. MediEvil use the same audio for the remake and it was a game from Ps1

It's funny how the modding community is the one that brings justice when it comes to remastering the GTA Trilogy but then Rockstar gets mad at them lol
The only other time I heard Rockstar get angry at modders was when Hot Coffee blew up and as much as I hate companies abusing DMCA and lawsuits, a representative from Rockstar can't tell the mainstream press or show up to Congress saying "it was a honest mistake and we will never do this again"...and leave the mod up for anyone to download. It's easier to send a cease and desist than making old men who can destroy your livelihood if they felt like it understand how coding and modding works. But they only sent it for that specific mod. Other mods were left alone simply because Rockstar didn't mind it. They only started coming after these mods year after they had GTA Online and got extremely greedy seeing the profits come in. I wished I was wrong, but they probably thought that the Definitive Edition didn't stand a chance against mods and decided to just remove the competition instead of put in work to make the Definitive Edition extremely good that modders didn't stand a chance.
Nope, that move wouldn't work. The vast majority of people who bought these "remakes" already have a copy of the original either in some digital library or as a physical copy for console. If those people want to play San Andreas as it was back then they just could.
I’m sure people are already just pirating the original versions, or will bite the bullet and buy the PS2/Original Xbox copies that still exist out there.
They should have pulled a bioshock. Bioshock 1 and 2 had a remaster, and many people were mixed on it. But on steam, every copy of the remaster was bundled in with the original version. If they did that it would still suck(not worth sixty) but it would not completely get rid of the og games. If the collection was 30 bucks and came with the og versions it would be worth it. It would have been even better if they just did it like halo 1 and 2 in the master chief collections, rebuild in the new engine, but make it as similar as possible, and have the option between the old graphics and new graphics.
I think the gang member's back is a matter of normal mapping. The normal map was made so the "7" would pop out and look lit, but they put a "9" in the texture at the last minute.
Yeah that is definitely the normal. Why would they change the albedo and forget about the normal? Jesus I could do a better job single handedly on these models and textures.
@@Janfon1 normal maps would essentially add free extra detail for minimal effort or impact on performance, doesn't matter necessarily even if it's low poly

This reminds me of when Konami did a similar pathetic cash grab when they released the silent hill hd collection. It was cheap, it was rushed, and it absolutely ruined these truly classic games
To be fair that was slightly different because the team that was assigned to it didn't get the source code for the game; it was still a mess under a somewhat "definitive collection" title but that dev team just got screwed over This is straight up Grove Street games trying to upscale the mobile port and failing hard...
Saints Row IV, a game that came out a few weeks before GTA V, plays INFINITELY better than this shitfest and we know 2K can hire competent developers to handle ports because I own the Borderlands and Bioshock games on Switch and they work just fine.
Finally someone said it
For real they turning into EA and Ubisoft is following as well
Because it's not Rockstar who made the Trilogy ( or under GSG name so R* doesn't have to take that much responsibility for it ).

Buying it second hand is just the same, not like Rockstar or anyone other then the 3rd seller will see that money anyway.
just crack it why buy
It's technically abandonware if we can't buy it anywhere. Should be hosted on abandonware sites sooner or later.
Rockstar made enough money of me already.
thats the thing that makes it so bad for me, you cant buy the original game
Yeah, I don't get the morality issue either, not only is Rockstar a big gaming company which makes billions of dollars each year it's also an old game that the company doesn't even sell anymore. So, you're forced to buy it out of a third-party, and if you're buying out of that then the money wouldn't even go to the devs anyway; so just save yourself the time and money, and just pirate it.
I was expecting a gaming Renaissance when cyberpunk came out. When it flopped, I thought "Aw shit, it's a dark age isn't it?". With every passing day, I'm starting to think it really is.
It’s only a dark age if you buy western triple A, Indies and Japan have got your back usually.

The GTA trilogy "definitive edition" looks like the old games wrapped in playdough
I mean their goal was to preserve the old code for years to come and they succeeded.
Oh now i remember, that older san andreas remaster. No wonder its the same company.
Only GTA would become a mobile bootleg of itself
Let's look back at Mafia: Definitive Edition.
That's what a Definitive edition supposed to be.

as someone who actually uses unreal engine, allow me to explain what happened here.
rockstar didn't want to actually spend the effort to reanimate the entire game so instead they transferred the existing animations onto a new character rig that those animations didn't fit. there was a very simple series of steps by which they could have automagically transferred those animations to a bigger or smaller character without breaking the rig; we do that all the time and it generally requires very little manual tweaking which was also clearly not done. additionally the new characters they did use were very poorly rigged and even an automatic mixamo rig would have been better however again rockstar didn't want to have to relink the bones which would have been advantageous for them because they were lazy and just threw a new skybox on, instanced in some new palm tree assets and reskinned their old character rigs and called it a day
Rockstar didn't actually do this, it was another smaller company they contracted and I believe they were under major crunch time. Matt McMuscles has a Wha Happun on it that goes into the details.
The early-late 2000s really was a different breed for games. Nowadays, there are so many half-assed games released out there with very few exceptions. It’s only the modders who are doing a better job keeping these games alive tbh.
There used to be tons of half assed games back then too lol, we just werent that aware of it as we are nowadays
Here we go with morons that don't actually play a lot of games, only heard couple of broken games then assumed that everything are half-assed games.
The MO now is to release broken games and fox it in real time and call it Games as a Service model.
And we have you to blame for it, smh
It’s absolutely embarrassing what they did with this game. They completely ruined a great opportunity because of laziness and greed.

He told me when we had a break that he was the one that made that Mod and that he almost got in trouble for it. I was amazed to hear he was the person that actually made such a popular mod xd
The only reason they took the old versions of the games down was to limit review bombing. I cant wait for a Digital Foundry breakdown of the performance of these games (if they do one that is)
Worse, it was because the licences for the soundtracks expired.
How to takin the old versions prevent review bombing exactly?
me to cant wait to see what richard says abot theses
I was playing the older vice city the other night might look old but runs better
can't believe they took the mobile versions down though
they were terrible
but still
I bought that with my own money
*Sonic Boom flashbacks*
Loooool
It's ironic that Rockstar did a worse job than the people who were porting GTA on switch as a fan project LMAO
it wasn‘t rockstar thankfully, but still bad ofc
@@South4153 wdym its rockstar
@@zu1200 grove street games is not rockstar, rockstar outsourced it probably cause they are working on gta 6 or red dead 3 or whatever
@@South4153 They outsourced it, but rockstar gave it the seal of approval to sell it. Rockstar is as responsible of the mess as Grove Street Games.
Seems to be a running theme these days.
Muta is only missing glasses for perfect big smoke cosplay
Indian big smoke be like- I'll have 2 beef samosa, a lassi large, a tandoori chicken with extra chutney, a chicken kabob with raita on the side, and 2 gulab jamun
@@vanshprajapati7010 too accurate
I mean he looked very Indian in the Definitive edition
Hahahahaha
@MusicMaster1987 lesser known fact, in india, garlic naan isn't that popular, many restaurants even don't have it. Mostly we have normal naan, and butter naan.
Yeah but I ate it once it was good.
It's funny how the modding community is the one that brings justice when it comes to remastering the GTA Trilogy but then Rockstar gets mad at them lol
Mad at them because they're showing how money hungry/inept rockstar is.
@JAB00Z rockstar employee found
The only other time I heard Rockstar get angry at modders was when Hot Coffee blew up and as much as I hate companies abusing DMCA and lawsuits, a representative from Rockstar can't tell the mainstream press or show up to Congress saying "it was a honest mistake and we will never do this again"...and leave the mod up for anyone to download.
They should really just have modders work on their games or at least remasters. It seems they do a better job at making games better for free.
@@spoonkey Probably can't crunch them to shit for an unreasonable deadline though.
They absolutely just ran it through an AI, I can't believe a human being even touched it before release.
Maybe they're pulling a "New Coke", and they'll cash in by bringing back the Classic version.
What are you 40
Nope, that move wouldn't work. The vast majority of people who bought these "remakes" already have a copy of the original either in some digital library or as a physical copy for console. If those people want to play San Andreas as it was back then they just could.
@@oriplaydirty op is telling the truth
It's actually randomised, but the normal map doesn't seem to change with it 😅
Yeah that is definitely the normal. Why would they change the albedo and forget about the normal?
Jesus I could do a better job single handedly on these models and textures.
@@Ballissle why does something this low poly even need a normal map, wouldn't diffuse be enough?
@@Janfon1 normal maps would essentially add free extra detail for minimal effort or impact on performance, doesn't matter necessarily even if it's low poly
@@Janfon1 what the other person said.
It is extra detail that has practically no effect on performance and can be done super quick and easy. Makes the lettering stand out a lot more and add depth to the texture where there is none. But it isn't necessary.
"No one tested the game"
Yeah, that's been a trend for the past 5 years or so
Feeling suicidal?
Take a shot every time Muta says “Ladies and Gentlemen”
Muta forgot to mention they left the excluded tracks in the game files in the Switch version, and also, he forgot to mention that the Switch version has A LOT of source code! Scripts, mission scripts, translations, audio, models, and much more.
The leaving of music isnt necessarily a bad thing. If the licensing is renewed, its much faster to update the script to include it in. It wont be much of a copyright issue because its deep in the files
@@SomeOne-yf3qq doubt rockstar will even try to get the rights to the music
@@SomeOne-yf3qq Sure, but they are also still giving away inaccessible copies of songs they do not have the copyright for. Considering how leechy big music copyright companies are, they're defo getting sued _unless_ they were specifically talking with them about adding the songs. And I don't think they're considering paying an extra fee for songs on an old game...
I think this is sort situation as Mafia 3, when they sell you out the idea of "a lot of songs in the game" or "we are bringing up classics songs" but you hear the same song over and over just because they didn't want to sacrifice and get license artists like; The Beatles or The Monkeys.
And yeah, I know is two different companies with two different story. But, they make the same mistake for only not doing their job.
@@SomeOne-yf3qq it is
Dude it doesnt matter if its disabled by script
Youre still ilegally distributing a licensed product
If i made a Pong clone and hid a copy of Breath of the Wild emulated inside and put it to be sold on steam, see how fast it will be taken down and Nintendo suing me into oblivion
And trust me, copyright lawyers smell blood in the water, Sony Music has a lot of them, and they make Nintendo look tame
It feels like they just had an AI "modernize" the games and didnt bother checking anything
At this point an AI will create the entirety of GTA 6
Just watched a YongYea vid, looks like it was AI upscaling, plus they used the IOS version or something that was already known for being crappy.
Mafia Definitive Edition is GORGEOUS, and actually looks like a current/next gen game... GTA Definitive Edition looks like the Mafia City ads on TH-cam. Just a random comp but similar games from similar studios.
Theres a difference between a remake and a remaster. Mafia was a remake rebuilt from the ground up, GTA was a remaster with updated graphics and mechanics (rockstar was very upfront with the look of the game in the trailer)
_"...and actually looks like a current/next gen game"_
Unfortunately it plays like a current game as well.
No free roam though, and mafia 2 remaster is a mess
@@ZakHorvath still doesn't excuse them that it looks like a bootleg though, they didn't really have to redo the artstyle
@@ZakHorvath Literally no one asked for these 3 games to be remastered again. Mafia is a much smaller franchise in comparison, and look what they did with a relatively old, niche-ass game.
As someone who was a teen when these games came out I knew it was going to be a mess from the first trailer so my expectations where very low.
From the way rockstar has been operating for almost a decade with GTA online, the quick release turnaround, the fact it wasn’t a remake and just the look from the first trailer knowing the games so well I knew this was going to be the absolute s***show it is.
I’m not angry rockstar, just disappointed…… really, really disappointed.
Oh man. Back in the 90's and 2000's we were like: Imagine how computer games will look in 10-20 years from now..
NEVER could we have expected it would all be worse. MUCH worse in some cases.
Now I'm gonna buy a 2nd hand PS2 😎
@MusicMaster1987 yes if the big guys only give us crap and a guy in a basement can do it better, cheaper and easier than the choice is not difficult..
Come on! graphics have progressed beyond our dreams since 2000, what we imagined back then is a complete reality now
@@Highbudget I strongly disagree. Compared to how computers have developed over the last 20 years we are getting shit for our money nowadays..
This reminds me of when Konami did a similar pathetic cash grab when they released the silent hill hd collection. It was cheap, it was rushed, and it absolutely ruined these truly classic games
Same with Warcraft 3 reforged
To be fair that was slightly different because the team that was assigned to it didn't get the source code for the game; it was still a mess under a somewhat "definitive collection" title but that dev team just got screwed over
This is straight up Grove Street games trying to upscale the mobile port and failing hard...
And the remake of resident evil 3
Why should they stop when people will pay for it regardless?
At least they had an excuse, they lost the source code. What excuse does GTA Triolgoy have???
We are at a point where Switch can run Crysis 3 but cant run GTA III.
That is fucking sad lmao xd
Saints Row IV, a game that came out a few weeks before GTA V, plays INFINITELY better than this shitfest and we know 2K can hire competent developers to handle ports because I own the Borderlands and Bioshock games on Switch and they work just fine.
This was just a lazy cashgrab and Rockstar/Take Two deserve way more shit than they're getting now. At this point, I'd consider class action lawsuits to be what they actually deserve.
@@KeavyGoesLive LOL, funny enough i bought bioshock infinite last Monday and SR4 yesterday. Bioshock infinite looks and runs awesome on switch and saints row 4 as well. There is absolutely no excuse that the trilogy runs like dirt.
@@brotbrotsen1100 The thing about old songs being “Commented” out and Hot Coffee code being in San Andreas has me wondering if they’re just running the original game code (PC, probably) and just updated the visuals. If that’s the case the graphical errors may be due to the developer not having enough time to do it right, thus this shitshow.
I’m throwing that out there as someone who hasn’t coded a video game and has a pretty basic knowledge of coding; nowhere near professional and barely a hobbyist so anyone who knows better can correct me, no hurt feelings.
@@KeavyGoesLive I don't know how this remake process works but i know that pretty much all the bugs are still in the game and simple stuff like no collision on planes in GTA 3 aren't fixed so i don't think much work went into it at all.
