I used to work in a bank. The bank teller is lying. The customer (NEVER) has to tell the last four digits of their social security number and the teller's are (NEVER) allowed to ask you to verbalize the address on the account (out in the open).

The sister bank, has all of her info on her account so the teller can pull her name up. You got it wrong. It does not matter what bank as long as it affiliates with her original bank. As you can see her info was in that bank also. The teller was being a butthole. She was wrong, that's why the corporate office apologized.
Started my first bank Account in 1975 I was 18 years old,… 47 years ago.. I have never been treated like that..I have never had a problem cashing a check anywhere.. but I have seen several problems with other folks. Why do we need to go to the inconvenience of closing out our accounts and then reopening a different account somewhere else? It is not as simple as that. You have to change everything in regards to auto payment billing information. You have to change your payroll information among other things. Obtain a darn good attorney and file suit against the bank. These injustices must stop.

First I highly doubt this teller just randomly wants her to recite her address. There actually is a high probability that reciting your address is actually normal protocol. Plus saying that that protocol is BS because how can a mute person recite their address is just nonsense. You have normal protocol and you have special circumstances, like animals are not allowed in sporting events but if that animal is a service animal it is then allowed to be in that sporting event.

Well going too the bank is part of life. But too have to come several days too the bank because they don't want you as a customer, but your check goes there . The credit union bank and they sent her in circles, when she needed the money for something days ago. So hell yeah you would be stressed , Pressure up , especially if you have illness already. No bank want you to say your address verbal at teller because they know someone can hear it. So they told her to say her address because they know she recording so they want her to turn it off so they can continue being assholes. You must don't have a life to think that a trip too a store experience can make you have to go too the hospital depending on the situation.

She stayed she taped everyone who came up to the counter. recording of taking pictures in a bank is not permitted, so for that reason alone, she could have been asked to leave. I'm black and how this customer is acting is out of line. I also work in a bank, and her behavior alone gives reason to ask more verifying questions. they had an interaction with her the day before, she presented a refilled withdrawal slip....seems unusual. Seems like account takeover. Fake ID? If she was genuine, she would just give her in For and finish up. They were expecting her to come back bc they probably declined the transaction the day before. Seems like the customer is trying to withdraw the funds before the money is returned from her account as fraudulent. The Teller is handling everything properly. She is following protocol. Can we get a little more clarity into the transaction you were doing? I work at a bank, I understand some bank policy (I can’t say for sure because policy is different all the time). Did you give her an up to date license/identification? I know some banks, depending on the amount of a transaction, have to take further steps to identify a customer. Was this really about race? I went to Kroger’s to cash a money order that was purchased at Kroger’s. It was for $1000. They claimed they called to verify the money and was told not to cash my money order. I then replied I’ll call them myself and put it on speaker. The cashier was standing there the entire time. When they operator stated my order was good and it can be cashed I told her go get your manager back up here. As soon as the lady came out I couldn’t get a word out before she said oh the guy called me back and told me it was good and we can cash it. Really! Get the fuck out of here. I live in the suburbs and we all are adults so I don’t need to explain how some people can be. After I got my money the cashier told me she was sorry for her manager behavior and that I must have a good job. Lol yes I make really good money but that don’t excuse her behavior. The teller in my bank does randomly ask me identifying information I do business with them in person. They also ask me whenever I do business with them on the telephone. They also ask me when I do chat service on their website. This is just a way for them to safeguard and make sure that you are really you the owner of the account. If not would you like just anybody to be able to use or withdraw from your account because there are no safeguards? Even getting a controlled medicine refill such as accutane from my pharmacy - they ask me to state my address, phone number and dat of birth. Thank goodness they do that or else you’ll lose everything through identity theft.

I used to work in a bank. The bank teller is lying. The customer (NEVER) has to tell the last four digits of their social security number and the teller's are (NEVER) allowed to ask you to verbalize the address on the account (out in the open).

The sister bank, has all of her info on her account so the teller can pull her name up. You got it wrong. It does not matter what bank as long as it affiliates with her original bank. As you can see her info was in that bank also. The teller was being a butthole. She was wrong, that's why the corporate office apologized.

I have never been treated like that..I have never had a problem cashing a check anywhere.. but I have seen several problems with other folks. Why do we need to go to the inconvenience of closing out our accounts and then reopening a different account somewhere else? It is not as simple as that. You have to change everything in regards to auto payment billing information. You have to change your payroll information among other things. First I highly doubt this teller just randomly wants her to recite her address. There actually is a high probability that reciting your address is actually normal protocol. Plus saying that that protocol is BS because how can a mute person recite their address is just nonsense. You have normal protocol and you have special circumstances, like animals are not allowed in sporting events but if that animal is a service animal it is then allowed to be in that sporting event.

The credit union bank and they sent her in circles, when she needed the money for something days ago. So hell yeah you would be stressed , Pressure up , especially if you have illness already. She stayed she taped everyone who came up to the counter. recording of taking pictures in a bank is not permitted, so for that reason alone, she could have been asked to leave. I'm black and how this customer is acting is out of line. I also work in a bank, and her behavior alone gives reason to ask more verifying questions. they had an interaction with her the day before, she presented a refilled withdrawal slip....seems unusual. Seems like account takeover. Fake ID? If she was genuine, she would just give her in For and finish up. They were expecting her to come back bc they probably declined the transaction the day before. Seems like the customer is trying to withdraw the funds before the money is returned from her account as fraudulent. The Teller is handling everything properly. She is following protocol. The customer is making accusations trying to scare them into just giving her the money.
Finally, someone who has sense on here. If the bank find this out she could be charged. Will she cry injustice there too? I am always asked to verify personal info every time I make a transaction. I cooperate, then I get my $$$

Can we get a little more clarity into the transaction you were doing? I work at a bank, I understand some bank policy (I can’t say for sure because policy is different all the time). Did you give her an up to date license/identification? I know some banks, depending on the amount of a transaction, have to take further steps to identify a customer. Was this really about race?
Regardless of any of this, Ashley WAS rude and could improve on her customer service. She can’t manage to explain policy and the reason for it, and smirks and scoffs at you? Really? Awful.
I went to Kroger’s to cash a money order that was purchased at Kroger’s. It was for $1000. They claimed they called to verify the money and was told not to cash my money order. I then replied I’ll call them myself and put it on speaker. The cashier was standing there the entire time. When they operator stated my order was good and it can be cashed I told her go get your manager back up here. As soon as the lady came out I couldn’t get a word out before she said oh the guy called me back and told me it was good and we can cash it. Really! Get the fuck out of here. I live in the suburbs and we all are adults so I don’t need to explain how some people can be. After I got my money the cashier told me she was sorry for her manager behavior and that I must have a good job. Lol yes I make really good money but that don’t excuse her behavior. SMH 🤦🏽♀️ I told her manager you don’t judge a book by its cover. My job requires me to dress all the way down so I look like a homeless person going to work. Each transaction is different and requires different information and or paper work. Again the woman in question is trying to manufacture a non issue and its sad. I believe that I know what was happening here. Because I've experienced my bank hesitating, when I withdrew large sums of money on consecutive days. It seemed as if I was pulling teeth, just to get MY money.

The teller in my bank does randomly ask me identifying information I do business with them in person. They also ask me whenever I do business with them on the telephone. They also ask me when I do chat service on their website. This is just a way for them to safeguard and make sure that you are really you the owner of the account. If not would you like just anybody to be able to use or withdraw from your account because there are no safeguards? Even getting a controlled medicine refill such as accutane from my pharmacy - they ask me to state my address, phone number and dat of birth. Thank goodness they do that or else you’ll lose everything through identity theft.

Then, right before 6:00 the bank employee says something to her manager that sounds like she's saying she had asked if "she" meaning someone else - like maybe the bank account holder?) had put HER (the woman at the counter) on the account? I have a strong impression that this may not have been your account at all and maybe someone else's you are trying to take money from? I this correct?
