I think it’s more balanced than dwellings since there’s a lot more mitigation with battles. I love targeting. I think the engine building is much stronger in this one too. I like the fact every time you play you get random upgrades for ships and the unique ship for your faction. Each faction truly feels very different. So many paths to success. It’s a lovely game.

Don't have time to watch the whole video, but noticed errors that I also commonly make - forgetting to trigger tracks. Here's one where the event marker should have moved: 10:45 and here's one where the civ track should have moved: 11:32.
Edit: watched more, the tracks continue to not be triggered in many instances, more than I'd like to scrape timestamps for. The event marker needs to be moved every time a launch to one of the 2 fields happens as well as when event cards (the ones with the exclamation mark on them) are played 26:46. The progress track markers need to be moved every time a module is added to the space station, so the reward from the card just played there 27:45 is also missed (I also am not sure that module was paid for with an accurate combination of resources in this case.) There is also at least one instance where a track is triggered but not in the correct order 38:31 which matters as there are circumstances moving the track before actually gaining (in this case by purchasing) a module could allow an originally unaffordable module to become affordable. Rules are clear that it's gain a module then move up the track. There are a lot of things to keep in mind with this game and I've made all of these mistakes myself many times so I understand, but this video will make it difficult for newcomers to learn the game accurately and does not display the tempo of the game properly.

The intent of the video isn't for the viewers to learn how to play... when those types of videos are in the channel they are clearly labeled "How to Play"... the other 99.99% of the videos are to give the viewer a feel for the game, for them to watch the game in action and get a feeling if it might be a game that they like or not :)
Either way, thanks for the corrections :)

There's very little difference in playtime length for the short game versus the long. By the time I'm getting to 50 points I'm as likely to get to 70. At most it's only ever a difference of one turn IME.

I think these have an absolute correction though “3 players you add 6 planets”. Not 7. It’s basically 2 planets per player.

I feel like I'm the only person in the world who likes dwellings more. The modules, developments, event deck, and ship upgrades are all complexity yhat has to be frontloaded and do not flow in the game in the same way as dwellings. Scoring is more clear in andromedas edge, but thats the only place i give the nod to AE

I played AE recently, and I didn't really care for it. To me, it felt like the game constantly puts up roadblocks around whatever you want to accomplish. And I expected it to be more of a space exploration game with some space combat. But, at its core, it's basically just a worker placement game with a bunch of overproduced bloat.

You have a microphone / sound issue. It does something to your voice. I have have noticed in multiple of your videos. Not hating, just a heads up.

Disclaimer: I have only played AE once and Dwellings a handful of times.
I enjoyed both games and felt like both have a place in my collection. Dwellings felt like a quicker, slightly lighter game, while AE was slightly more thinky. You can definitely feel some similar underlying mechanisms. It’s a little like playing King of New York for the first time after have played King of Tokyo; there are familiar elements, but still very different games.

My gaming group feel kinda same, AE is a bit too long and tedious to set up and not as balanced as dwellings, positive is you have more things you can do and instead of just one type of dwellings 5 different buildings you can build, we don't like the new map, wish they kept hexagons! Its ok game but that super straight forwardness that made DOE great is gone!
