I was looking forward to this video actually. I'm visiting YVR next year. I'm surprised is taking so long to get to downtown. I will be going to Georgia Street as well so I'm looking at least for a 40 mnts ride. Also the subway cars are so short. What a coincidence though I can see the hotel that I am going to stay in your video. I'm taking your video with me as a guide. Thank you Ken!!!
Hey Mr. Ken Continuum and to your fair loyal lady Meghan.....im always soo happy to watch both of you in livestream vids you all make them worth watching! also hoped all is going quite invigorating and I bet you maybe kinda in holiday festive spirit..for sure you and Mr.Strides will have an amazing can't get enuff of holiday cheer this year lol. this was truly an amazing skytrain ride in Vancouver from airport to main city centre...awesome sexy trains although quite small. soo nice you met somebody from Guelph on the ride"small world". I never been to vancity but the downtown is more scenic with mountains surrounding all over...thanks and happy holidays
Love this awesome video. Especially the nice people riding to downtown Vancouver with you. It feels good meeting friendly people. Thx Ken and Meghan for a wonderful ride. Stay safe you two.
Good evening Ken! Hope you’re doing well. Amazing video! Vancouver airport looks very cool 😎. I also enjoyed the skytrain ride from Vancouver airport to downtown Vancouver! Have a good night! Cheers!
It was great to see Vancouver again. You stayed close to where I stayed when I was in Vancouver. I stayed at the Westin Bayshore close to Stanley Park. I look forward to watching more Van vids!!
It was interesting to see you and Meghan departing the train at City Center and proceeding out of the station to Georgia and Granville Sts. I've done it so many times. I'm glad you had a decent visit to Vancouver.
Hi Ken! Terrific video. I am a bit surprised to see how quiet the airport was when you and Meghan landed mid-afternoon on a Friday! Wow! Yes there are multiple zones on the transit system and it adds up crossing into different zones. Still $9 bucks isn't too bad from the airport all the way to Vancouver's Downtown area. It seems fairly reasonable compared to taking a cab or an Uber! I thought your sis might pick you two up and give you both a lift! It's nice this way as you and Meghan got to see some the areas you were travelling through this way! Cool! The Ottawa light rapid transit sure has got trashed. I heard you and Meghan talking about it. I was there when the system started and it was really exciting and I have enjoyed all the rides I have taken in Ottawa but I think the system had had tons of breakdowns. I hope they can fix whatever issues the system has! Ottawa is a lovely city! I like the stops on this run into Vancouver. It really covers a wide range of areas in the city to connect with transit and get out to the airport or to come back in on when having been away! Thanks so much for filming and showing us all what the trip into the city is like from the airport! I really enjoyed hearing about the DJI Osmo earlier in the video! It sounds like it was a good convo with some nice people also heading into Vancouver! I like having good convos! It's nice when people are friendly! Awesome video! It was really enjoyable to watch! Cheers Ken!! 🙂
Yeah, I didn't mind the quietness of the airport when we arrived. haha My sis already had company at her house for the first couple of days of our visit to the city, so we got a room in the hotel, which worked for me because it allowed me to record this video and a bunch of other downtown videos! I have yet to visit Ottawa since they opened their new rapid transit line! Thanks, Christine. Cheers!
@@TheKenContinuum Hi Ken!! I think you and Meghan would really getting back for a visit to Ottawa and the LRT system is absolutely worth checking out. I liked it although I definitely acknowledge the need for repairs and importantly, a better understanding of what went wrong to cause so many breakdowns and disruptions. I realize it was extremely frustrating to citizens using the transit system. I hope it is working better now. I hope to get to Ottawa soon. I am thrilled that you got to make this video coming into Vancouver! I hope you got to see your sis for plenty of time on your visit. I know it went fast! Happily she makes it back to TO so you see her there too! Cheers! 🙂
Hi, Ken & Meghan, great not so much a going to but coming from Skytrain video. I'd say the airport elevators could do with an update, more speed and space taking into account people's luggage. The Osmo Pocket has some pulling power in attracting and mesmerising the curious, it is brilliant tho. Nice people on the train and yep, a small world with the Guelph connection surprising for Meghan. Downtown Vancouver looks good and interesting mountain glimpses between the buildings. All bigger cities seem to have their landmark hotels. Manchester's UK one probably being "The Midland Hotel". Best Wishes to both of you. C.J.H.
I love IGA grocery stores. They are very hard to come by here in the United States. Most of them have been closed. Thank you for the video. Ken and Megan was very good to see a different city. In Canada have a great Christmas to the both of you if I do not talk to you before then hopefully I will talk to you soon. Thank you.
Last time I was in Vancouver I took the Skytrain Expo Line from downtown to Burnaby where I was staying. The line was mostly elevated which was cool passing through different neighbourhoods. I heard they use the same technology as the Scarborough RT…strange that the TTC considers the RT obsolete and must be demolished but in Vancouver it works well and is expanding. Makes no sense.
Yes the Vancouver Expo and Millenium Lines use the same basic technology as the SRT but in Scarborough there are corners that are too tight for the newer rolling stock so they've been stuck with the old outdated stock and can't replace it. I'm sure compared to extending the subway it would be less expensive to soften the SRT corners but people also don't like the awkward transfer at Kennedy.
Ken, I remember the Sutton Place Hotel at the north East corner of Bay and Wellesley very well. That's when I lived above a Greek restaurant at the south east corner in the early 70's.
I've been wanting to ride the Canada Line from city center to the airport just to check it out. Haven't done it yet. The Canada Line was built for the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010.
It's the 4th densest city in N. America, and only going to get denser in the inner city. Outside of there it's largely detached housing and lowrise apartments.

I notice at the beginning everyone is forced to walk at the same slow speed as the slowest person. This being the last with the stroller who could have walked to the immediate right to let folks pass instead if staying in the very middle, blocking everyone in behind her. Great video though, thanks!
There’s an NFL game on right now. Billions of dollars to produce that. But I’m watching Ken instead. It’s incredible the way Ken challenges huge corporate media products for viewers. Tonight’s score for my viewing: Ken 1, NFL 0.
We don't have any IGA near me on LI but I was out way east two months ago and on the North Fork, and the Hamptons do have some IGA supermarkets, for some reason, in these tiny little towns. If my memory serves me correctly I believe the skytrain in Vancouver uses the same cars as the Scarborough RT back in Toronto. I read that somewhere.
It does, well at least the ICTS Mark I cars

haha I've come across many dirty TTC windows, too.
No dirty slush to deal with in Vancouver though.
