Host of Fear No ART, Elysabeth Alfano, sits down with acclaimed graphic novelist, Chris Ware, in his home library for an understanding of this influential artist.
I love how she's all like "smiley American play some piano wow ur soooo talented" and his reaction is "(who's this woman? please don't make me do things. when are you leaving?)" I like Chris Ware a lot.
Him saying that he's usually unhappy with his works kind of irks me ... I don't like how artists tries to outdo themselves by thinking that way .. or maybe they have this system of always setting a higher standard of expectation as they go along with their works so much that they keep thinking they are always not achieving that standard ... I find it distressing to know that a great piece of artwork that is enjoyed by me as an audience really did not give its creator the same exhilaration or satisfaction ..
thank you! This is a beautiful interview but... isn't it possible for you to add english subtitles? I wish I could get everything he says. anyway, thank you for sharing and for the excellent work. He is really a nice guy.
i love that he said that he feels accomplished about his life but it doesnt mean anything to anybody else i feel that people get to hung up on getting gratitude from others he has a great mind
It was really interesting interviewing him. Believe it or not, this is him opening up. He really is quite gifted!

This is a good interview with a brilliant guy but please lose the music.
I bawled like a baby reading Jimmy Corrigan. One of the most moving and introspective comics I've ever evere read.
Great interview... I could do without the music though ;)

That's a great look into Mr. Ware's art. I feel the same way about much of my own work as he does lol.
At the 4:19 mark, can anyone tell me which of Ware's works we are seeing?
If only I were as accomplished as Chris Ware. Not even close.
