This video perfectly shows how to seal up the door side walls and also create that seal around the exterior walls to the trailer. Awesome job. I'm going to do that but on a cargo conversation trailer.

I must thank you again. This video gives me the confidence to try what they cannot be done. T trim just will never, ever bend around a corner like that so say the experts.

Some other thoughts: maybe a little bit of heat (like from a heat gun), pre-bending would help to reduce the kinks. Also, I’ve had good luck fitting various sizes of non-fuel injected rubber gas line over pliers or vice grips, and using that that as a soft gripper/manipulator

Soon I will build my doors and hatch and this information quite useful. Thanks G I have rectangular doors and hatch, but I doubt about trim types, now its all clear.
There are lots of methods and prolly many better than mine. I just showed what I did. I did go back and change the rubber seal shape in the door. It’s somewhat of an arrow head shape. I picked it up from Vintage Technologies. The way I used it, my doors actually stuck out from the side if the camper by 5/8” or so, but no leaks and I still like the way it looks.

Good morning! May I ask where you purchased the trim? You have given me the confidence to build my own doors versus purchasing doors. Thanks for all you do!
Vintage Technologies. You may find that all the trim, windows, and hardware will add up to the cost of premade doors though. DIY doors look cooler however! Good luck!
@@CampandCamera , I got ahead of myself and purchase some l-trim from Home Depot. Not a good idea, it wasn't malleable as the trim piece you used from Vintage Technologies.
I went ahead and purchased the trim today.

You may still be able use the other trim elsewhere on your build. Perhaps at the bottom of the walls? Aluminum trim of any shape is always handy to have around.

You need to use a piece of square metal underneath and use the hammer to take the crank out don't worry about leaving marks because you could always polish it

@@CampandCamera I started at 60 or 80 and work my way up to 3000 and for Hammer instead of rubber use the nylon

The T molding ... you could have cut some darts hallway into the distorting part that fits into the groove. Te outside I guess Id plenishes it out too.
Good job....! About the only way to minimize the kink at the corners would be to trim that lip to about 1/8th.

I like shape of your doors. Do you know how many inches is all around that door, I have a moulding 10 feet long and I wonder if will be long enough to do with only one join.
voytek I think you’ll be just a foot or so short. I used an 8ft piece and a good part of another.
Will there be weather stripping between the the door and the camper? Under that T molding?
Absolutely.
I'm up in Canada. Where did you purchase the trailer's skin and trim? I'm thinking about my own project. How would I trim corners?
Ideally I'd like to buy my own, but what I want is too expensive or too far away (runaway campers). Making a 4x8 would be simple enough
The metal is Wrisco brand that a local sign shop ordered for me. The trim came from Vintage Technologies. Good luck on your build!
Would you have skinned the doors first before applying the L and T trim if you were to do this again?
wesley sumner Yes, I do believe so. However, I would have to be very careful not to scratch the finish on the sheeting while all the bending and beating of the trim was taking place. That’s why I did it without the sheeting the first time. No matter how careful I am, I still scratch stuff up!
Skinning both sides before settling the holes for the trim will get the spacing right.
But I must confess that I learned this lesson by doing the exact same thing
I also got the kinks in the T moulding, but I used a sledgehammer as an anvil and pounded them out with a ball peen hammer, then sanded, primed and painted
Your kinks were so tiny, I'm jealous. Mine were monsters.

hello the gap between the door and the trunk should be few mm. What should be the gap when aluminum is not inserted between them
TECFABRİC ENERJİ Just speaking to my own camper, I put a 3/8” gap between my galley hatch and the side walls before the aluminum trim was applied. This left me with about a 1/4” clearance once finished.
On the side doors, I basically measured the thickness of all the trim that would be between the door and the wall and added an 1/8” gap to that number. Is that what you were asking about?

I meant to ask you this question , which counter sink piece do you use for your drill?
George Cardona Jr I have a couple. One is a countersinking drill set from Black and a decker. The other is a dedicated countersinking bit. I use both depending upon screw size.
