    Make one with a tomato paste can. Then you can use the can to hold the alcohol so it's not absorbed by the concrete

    This is pretty cool! I am going to make one. I said it looks like toilet paper exactly at the same time you said it! Lol And don't make too many that it will look like you're doing some kind of ritual! Lol. But enough to make it look romantic. Or relaxing while you're sipping on coolaid. 😉😉🤭 You guys are really cute. You made me laugh. I am going to have to watch more of your videos!

    So cool! I don't have a cardboard tube (my brother didn't buy a fishing rod lol) I'm going to try making it in a 2 liter soda bottle, that way it'll have feet! Wondering what kind of sealer you used???

    If the alcohol is cold it takes a bit to light.

    Did anyone find out what material was used for this? We had no luck finding anything that was heat and water resistant

    How long did the flame last for?

    • @scrappywood
      @scrappywood  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on how much alcohol you put in! Ours filled up is about 30 minutes.

    I make these .... easy way. I use 2 and 1/2 quart paint buckets from Home Depot ($2.38), lightly rub motor oil or cooking oil on the inside of the bucket and on the outside of a 16 ounce solo cup. I use some scrap wood to hold the cup in place with about an 1” of the cup above the top of the bucket. This makes taking them apart easy after the concrete has dried. Use fine grit sandpaper to smooth the top and sides if needed. Then make 5 1/4” wood pucks for them to sit on. The deeper hole lets the flame burn for up to an hour. 90% alcohol is expensive, I dilute mine with a mix of the 90% and then 70% picked up from the dollar store. Total cost to make is less than $10. Similar ones sell for $95.00 .... I.e. Flikr.
    Enjoy!

      I’ve switched over to Countertop Mix it’s $20 for an 80lb bag. You might have to order it, the big box stores typically do not stock it on the shelves.

    Your audio is wayyyy too hot. If you get a shotgun mic like a ride NTG5, you can set a safety channel of -10db so you’d always have a good sounding audio channel. There’s also wireless lav mics that do this as well and lav recorders.
