@@letolethe5878 certainly nothing good about orangutan mothers being killed, what makes me feel good is all the hard work these dedicated people do to help the orphans.
@@randomuser3741 Why do you think these baby orangutans are being raised by humans and being taught how to survive in the wild by humans? This is a sanctuary for orphans who lost their parents through poaching (killing the adults as pests or even for meat), sickness/disease caused by lack of food due to habitat loss caused by humanity's unchecked development.
@@letolethe5878 yes. This is in Nyaru Menteng, Kalimantan. They will teach these orphaned orangutans to survive in the wild. When they are ready and older. They will be placed in pre release island. In this island, they will live on their own with occasional check from the organization staffs. When they are fully wild and capable to survive on their own, they will be released to national park/forest. This organization has its own TH-cam channel. Search BOS Foundation on TH-cam. I can certainly see how someone would be tempted to have one as a pet when they're babies but unless you have a zoo license and a habitat big enough to accomadate them, why would anybody want one as an adult pet? I saw a documentary in the 90's about a pet orangutan called DiDi. That's when I became fascinated with them. The documentary was sad because the lady that owned DiDi, treated her like a human child. DiDi wore clothes; she knew how to use the elevator in the apartment; she used the toilet and washed her hands afterwards; she took baths and even had her own bedroom, with a bed. The lady said that she bought her as a companion for her son and she raised her like a daughter. As her son grew up, so did DiDi and by the time he reached his teens, DiDi was becoming more and more of a problem for the lady. I guess DiDi was about 8 so she was out growing their apartment and becoming too much for her to handle. Plus, she was becoming stubborn and hardheaded so the lady had to make the tough decision of finding her a place to go, which broke her heart. Luckily, she got in contact with Dr Willie Smits and he put DiDi in a program to rehabilitate and eventually release her to the wild but it was a traumatic separation for both DiDi and her human mother. I'm convinced that people who want them as pets are uneducated about these types of animal period, namely, their adult size and strength. Also they don't understand the destruction they cause by trying to domesticate wild animals. It's either that or they are some very selfish, sadistic, inhumane, heartless, vultures, who just don't care about the destruction that they cause.

She’s not teasing, she teaching them how to forage for swaying fruits high up in the canopy but encouraging them to climb. In the wild they would have to learn to climb up & use one arm to reach for swaying fruits while they are still holding on to branches.
I love how Cinta's first move when dealing with an obstacle is to always throw a stick at it. She did it with the snake in another episode too.
