A wonderful remembrance. Let the music speak for itself; too often we smother the music with a thick blanket of words and distract from what is essential. “He liked being surprised”; I think great art has an endless capacity for surprise. This is what separates it from the mundane. Thank you, Pierre, for sharing and thanks to the NBS for making this available.
For me it was a treat indeed to come across the legendary G.L's recordings in the early 70's quite by chance, The English Suite, on cassette tape. Since then I've always searched the web for any recordings, information about this great man. Here, to have someone who studied with him, talk about his association with him is truly a treat indeed. Thank you Mr. Hantaï.
Gratitude is a value that takes on a special dimension when it is dedicated to the teacher from whom one has learned so much. Part of the greatness of the teacher is in his pupils.
Merci
*Please note: this is an improved version of an earlier release. The title has been corrected.
Emocionante... Bedankt, Mr. Leonhardt. Merci, Mr Hantai.
