I wanted more lessons. Is that weird? I wanted to feel like I was actually getting taught magic

a list of things i would say that could be better is
    -more spels
-more potions and diferent tiers of potions
    -add Quidditch
    -a bigger story line
and last but not least special items like the deathly hallows

Loved the video and I can see all your points. Well thought out.
The problems I had with the story is that it felt very basic and not well laid out. A lot of story missions are just classrooms learning a spell and not much else. There were house specific stories but in the end that was barely any mission at all and they ended up at the exact same spot. It just felt like a different text for the same mission.
Also not really following up on quests. The ravenclaw one has you locating a wand that means a lot to Ollivander but when you find it you never even deliver it to the man. You go through the effort to find it and then just nothing. Also they made a big deal about the goblins and ark wizards working together but in the end they had two meetings and do not really interact beyond that.
The dark wizards might as well have been absent since Rookwood only really makes an appearance at the end and gets his butt kicked. Other than the creature smuggling but that was his second in command. Rookwood barely did anything.
The ancient magic felt cheap. Like look at the ancient magic we came up with and that is so good only some people can see it. In the end it just gave you some way to kill people in a somewhat spectacular fashion and you did nothing further with it.
Your view on Hogwarts changing with seasons sounds great. Also how great would it be if they just had a small team that occasionally added secrets and such to Hogwarts. Like suddenly an update and you have to find the newly hidden secret. Or a passageway.
And yeah the companions fell flat. It is like they just used you as a help and then pretended they did not know you anymore.

Here's my two cents on this discussion. First, I really enjoyed the game; I liked it. I will critique it here, though, but overall it was a good game and I had a lot of fun. With that said:
    1. Don't write my character for me; let me create and form my character. What I mean is, don't make me the dragonborn, ancient magic-wielding, fifth-class bad boy without a backstory or parents, etc. Instead, maybe start in year one and go up to some year. Ideally (but ambitiously), let me play completely through all years until I graduate and then let me even play after graduation (for example, as an Auror hunting evil wizards for the Ministry of Magic, or as a Death Eater if you're evil, or as a teacher, or a dragon tamer, etc. Again, I know it's super ambitious; I don't expect that in the next game, just saying that would be a 10/10). This includes backstories. Let me choose if I'm pure-blooded, a Muggle-born, or mixed. If I choose pure-blooded, let me choose which of the 24 pure-blooded families I'm born into (Malfoy, Black, Lestrange, etc.). Ideally, make this all meaningful. For example, when I'm pure-blooded, make it easier for me to befriend other pure-bloods and maybe give me dialogue options when talking to Muggle-borns (don't force me to hate Muggle-borns; not all pure-bloods hate Muggle-borns, but give me the option in case I want to role-play as a bad guy character). Contrary to that being a half-blood makes it easier to befriend Muggles or convince them to do something without magic, pure-blood npcs could make comments about half-bloods etc etc.
    2. Similar to point 1. Don't tell me who my friends are.
In film/book 1, Malfoy wants to befriend Harry, but he dislikes his arrogance, so he chooses to stick with Ron and Hermione. It should be similar to that. Give me many possible friends and let me choose who I want to be close friends with. Also, please don't have them all be nice, good people. I mean, Sebastian is probably the most evil companion you can have, and let's be honest, he's not evil. Meanwhile, people like Bellatrix Lestrange were actually at Hogwarts as teenagers. Give me a girl like her as a possible companion as well, for when I want to play an evil character. Not every companion should be a low-key Hufflepuff.
Ideally, make it meaningful. If I'm friends with a Bellatrix-like companion, have her push and motivate me to be cruel and use spells like Crucio, even though they are forbidden. Make her see me as weak and be disappointed or bored when I refuse to bully or torture a classmate for fun. Conversely, make a good character flabbergasted when they see me using a curse and say, "If you use that spell one more time, I won't be friends with you anymore; that spell is evil and forbidden!"
With these two points, the main stage is set for it to be MY character and MY story, instead of A character and A story which would feel really immersive.
    3.
I mostly agree with your point on mentors so i wont add much there.
    4. Now lets get into some interesting stuff. Spell learning/perfecting and character builds.
So... the way we learn spells in HL is a little bit boring. Instead of a one time quest reward learning and practicing spells should be a cuntinious thing. I feel like the most eu way to do this is give each spell a level. And then outside of tutorial give me a school schedule. For example on monday you have defense against fark arts. When you go to class you can either practice a new spell(gaining that spell lvl 1) or let me practice one i already know giving me exp for that specific spell based on how good i do at a mini game(Ideally each spell has his own mini game) and dont just have 5 levels. Have more like 50-100 lvls for each spell so you really want to specialize. If you want to get really good at one spell. To me this makes sense alot. In the wizarding world its super common for wizards to specialize in 1 spell even tho they can cast others most of the times. Some examples would be Harry potter using stupor amd expelliamus. Or lockhard being a specialist in forget spells. Or voldemord specialising in avada kedabra to the point he can cast it in his baby form and without wand in the beginning of film. I feel like this should be represented in the spell systhem wich also includes potions and beast taming. Example when you tamed 100 dragons you should be better ad dragontaming but not necessarily better at taming something else. Also to add further on that. In the wizarding worlds some spells depend on your character and emotions. Some examples here are patronus skill being based on a good memory so kind and friendly character should have a better patronus then a cruel character. On the flipside bellatrix lestrange has the strongest cruzio out of all the characters we know because she has the biggest desire to inflict pain on them because she enjoys it so much. So cruel characters should have a stronger cruzio then kind compassionate characters that dont even want to torture someone. The mix of specializing in a skill by using and practicing it more plus your personality affecting certain spells making them more or less effective combined with your point of "more creative spellcrafting and combining" would make for a really compelling and interesting spell systhem and it would be a really fun experience to build your character with that systhem.
    5. In adition to point 4 the gear systhem would need a rework. I dont have a fully formed opinion yet on what would be the best way for the gear systhem to be interesting but also immersive. But it should be more secondary but unique cool effects instead of spell x does more dmg. An example would be for example when your sneaking and you get cough but you have enchantment xy then instead you dont get cought and turn invisible again and the enchantment effect goes on a cooldown. This could help you specialize into a sneaky build for example. Or maybe you automatically block one spell every 10 seconds in combat. Or you have a cloak that attracts a certain species of creature even to areas where it normally doesnt spawn. Stuff like that is what i mean with more secondary stuff. It shouldnt just be a lultiplicator on damage. The increased dmg ahould come from leveling that spell and using soells that fit your character(idealiy with different animations at like lvl 0-25, 25-50, 50-75, and 75-100 so you actuall have visual progression on your spell aswell)

I finished the main story quest in about 30 hours of gameplay, but then I realized I still have 60% of the map undiscovered. At first it was really exciting, but as you progress it feels repetitive and starts to become bland, as only the side quests with Hogwarts students are the ones that have multiple interactions. I was intrigued by Ranrok and Rokwood at first, but as I progress through the story, they felt more of a major sidequest than the main story.
After having spells/skills like Petrificus Totalus, Disillusionment Charm, Avada Kedavra etc, you can be very OP just by being able to one shot bosses or clear out enemies with little to no combat. AK is more of an ultimate skill with long cooldown than an unforgivable curse that should bear consequences when used.
I hope Hogwarts Legacy will have a RDR2 kind of Sequel where possibilities are endless, sidequests are everywhere, and an Honor System that allows players to have different interactions or events depending on their chosen path. Hogwarts Legacy is a good start, it was amazing, but if done better, it can easily top out other open world games out there.

i didnt feel like there was much of a point to exploring all of the little hamlets and villages, there wasnt much to do besides loot and a few side quests. a whole lot of open space for what? there wasnt even a reward for like completing every single interactive thing. like i did enough merlin trials to get the last reward but i still had like a dozen left. whats the point of doing them all? why put them there if theres no reason? and the end of the game was really rushed and i was upset because sebastian wasnt in the great hall cutscene, even though i opted to not send him to azkaban. i think sebastians storyline was the most interesting in the game, and it also had so much potential for more. it couldve been 3x as long and more fleshed out. also id like to be able to go to the ministry of magic in the new game. id also like it if the game could progress through a longer time period than just one year. a big game to ask for but wouldnt it be awesome??

A concept I've always felt went by underappreciated and underused was the origins of dragon age origins. Your backstory really impacted on the whole game. Would love to see a new game like that in this world. Pick your story start, Ancient magic user (HL1 character), muggle born 1st year, pure blood 5th year, new staff member, goblin, hogsmeade resident, dark wizard. Have the characters you dont pick and customise weave into the story so developent isnt wasted.

I just wish that they made your choices when talking with people actually matter. It seems like no matter what you say, the outcome is the exact same. I would like to see people and things get affected by your actions and words, It would feel more like you are choosing your own story, instead of it being picked out for you.
I agree with you about the whole progressing relationships for multiple reasons. For example, when you make the choice whether you crucio Sebastian or he does it to you, progress the friendship by making the sacrifice to go through that almost unbearable pain. Same with whether you turn him in or not, instead of making him disappear, I would have liked to see an interaction where he basically said you betrayed him and your friendship level changed to betrayed, or something along those lines of. The relationships don't feel really thought about, more of just an interaction where the outcome is basically the same. There should be a status level, visible or invisible, of the friendships. Like, the interaction choices with others are different based on your level of friendship, if you know what I mean? You should also be able to be rude to some npcs instead of being nice to all of them, also making those relationships go down, you could make enemies or something like that.
All of the other things I wanted to say here has already been said in this comments section lol
I Loved the video, and I agree with basically all of your points. Keep up the good work.

Oh God I loved your video! I absolutely agree and I believe you should write the sequel lmaoo
I wished we knew more about the MC ! Give me something to work with like....
Also, I wish the characters didn't feel as NPC as they did tbh. How come Ominis and Sebastian stop talking to you after the quest? Why can't I choose a best best friend on my own ? Everything feels very lacking tbh, it almost feels like a movie and not a game

Started out great, but ended up being a generic open world RPG set in the countryside. After 10 hours, you hardly spend any time in Hogwarts anymore. What’s the point of his amazing castle if the story and quests don’t bring you back to Hogwarts

I don’t play anymore because I wanted more from this game I wanted a Hogwarts sim but it just didn’t give me that. I’m hoping they really lean towards a Hogwarts sim then the first game did.
