I was thinking the same thing. Why do they have to make fun of her only to make her look like the lesser woman? Ann and Pete have such a nice relationship. Nobody needs this comparison.
Suzanne Charny played Lisa. She was the main female dancer in Fosse's Sweet Charity extended dance number The Aloof. It's on YT on different channels with new music. she's 80 years old now. Rich Little was a cutie back then, too.
This actress playing Lisa Stevens, Suzanne Charney, has been dubbed over in this episode by another woman: Robie Lester, who was the voice of Jessica in the Rankin Bass show _Santa Claus is Comin' to Town_ ... and she also voiced Karen in the Disney album _The Story and Song of The Haunted Mansion_ back in the 1960s along with Ron Howard who played Mike. Not sure why they looped Charney's voice. I suspect that her last line here wasn't replaced, where she meets Andrew in the restaurant. That seems genuine.
Who couldn't have guessed that Andrew Marshall and Lisa Stevens would end up together. You could see that coming all the way down Broadway. Happy endings all around.
Rich Little and Ted Bessell had the exact same haircut. Come to think of it, back in the day, my Dad had the same haircut, too. Must have been in the same barbers' handbook, under the same style number. My Dad was more handsome than both of those two guys combined. I am prejudiced, of course.
You'd think Ann would be conceited because of her looks, but she is often insecure and very jealous. She also can't take a joke, when Don makes cracks about something.
It's clearly not blonde when you see him with others who do have blonde hair. I think they believe if they say blond enough we'll accept and believe it too. He's still a cutie regardless of hair color 😍
This episode would've been from 1967. I had no idea that computers were being used in 1967 for things like computer dating. Just goes to show that nothing can replace good old chemistry which Ann and Don definitely had! Besides, Lisa's voice was very annoying.
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Before I saw your comment I was going to ask if anyone else thought her voice looked and sounded dubbed. Kind of odd they would do that.
@@jvcomedy I looked up the actress and she did an episode of Starsky and Hutch - they didn't dub her voice but she had a Southern accent. If that was her real voice, maybe that's why they dubbed it.
Not cray about how Ruth Buzzi's character was depicted and treated in this series. Good thing she had a sense of humour.

R.B. had feelings that were capable of being hurt.
love the red and white checked Choo Choo hat with the white sunglasses accent. So 1960s
Not sure why but I fell in love that moment when Ann opened her apartment door and Don was there waiting for her 😍 🥰❤️

The dance number was "Rich Man's Frug" and it was divided into 3 parts: The Aloof, The Heavyweight, and The Big Finish.
Two hall of famers… Ruth Buzzi and Rich Little on the same episode !
And the fantastic "The frug" dancer from Sweet Charity. Suzanne Charney.
Bernie Kopell (Jerry Bauman) was also Siegfried on Get Smart. So funny!!!
He was always good. He played an old letch on later seasons of Bewitched, at the apothecary. And of course Doc on The Love Boat.
@@eduardo_corrochio
Doc Bricker on The Love Boat was kind of letchy, too.
@@randilevson9547 Some of those male TV characters from decades past needed some saltpeter put in their oatmeal.

This computer dating service match Don has, sounds like a scene from the movie, “The Stepford wives.” 😂😂😂🤭
It’s creepy
I notice that the word “ terrific” was a frequent expression both on “ Mary Tyler Moore “ as well as “ That Girl”
I just recently rewatched that movie here on TH-cam
"I was just going to get your coffee................"
SPROING!!
Many years later, Sheldon Cooper met Amy Farrah Fowler through computer dating, on TBBT. They got married, eventually.

Love these videos ty for sharing
They obviously dubbed over the real voice of Don's 'date'..... sounds really odd!!

It's dreadful that Suzanne Charny stated in an interview in 2021 that this experience was something to forget.
She was too polite to say why...
Why is Donald always described as blonde in the series? Am I colorblind or something, because I've always seen him as a dude with light-brown hair.
He's blond, but his hair looks darker depending on the lighting.
It's clearly not blonde when you see him with others who do have blonde hair. I think they believe if they say blond enough we'll accept and believe it too. He's still a cutie regardless of hair color 😍
Dark blond. Most blond(e) kids wind up with light brown or dark blond hair, but women sometimes dye it back to childhood level.

Computer dating was still quite new then. (I'm old enough to remember. I was a college freshman in 1967.)
This episode highlights the fact that Don and Ann don't always have a very realistic relationship.
Aren't comedies supposed to be exaggerated?
Is that Rich Little??? It sounds like him.
yes it is.
He sounds like so many other people. That's how you know it's Rich Little. 😄
Lisa Stevens' voice sounds like the precursor of AI. Too measured and too perfect.
Why is her friend called Pete? xD
Los agarro el algoritmo jejej
There sure isn't much trust in Don's and Ann's romance!
17:35 Suzanne Charny already showing off her skills in dancing... LOOOOOOVE...
She is a Cutie
that dress she's wearing alot to be desired. eeeeewww. love ruth buzzi.
If she weighed 100 pounds, she would be a size 2 or less..
Not in 1967. They didn't even have size 2 back then, 6 was as small as it got in Misses sizes.
Good to know
Her real height is 5-4
She said 104, that extra 4 lbs bumped her up to a size 6 😅
@@sbella6719hey up I think she lied about her weight

Wikipedia says she grew up in Brooklyn, so I don't know how she would have a Southern accent.
It's mysterious why her voice would be dubbed.
Nont life share to much
She's annoying with her cracking voice.
