Went to a Slim Whitman concert here in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia back in the late 60's and still think it was the best performance I've ever witnessed.
I remember wen I was small and my late mum use to bring me to those days bazaars at Chinatown and they use to sell those cassettes and one of them that my mum picked up was the very best of slim Whitman I'm 52 years old now his music and golden voice is ever so beautiful rip🙏 mum and slim Whitman 😢😢🙏🙏☹️
Sitting in a chair and lets flow back in time,my mother has make me a big fan of him. Now am 60 years later still i love to hear his songs ,special this one .
Pardon me, if I'm sentimental When we say goodbye Don't be angry with me should I cry When you're gone, yet I'll dream A little dream as years go by Now and then there's a fool such as I Now and then there's a fool such as I am over you You taught me how to love and now You say that we are through I'm a fool, but I'll love you dear Until the day I die Now and then there's a fool such as I Now and then there's a fool such as I am over you You taught me how to love And now you say that we are through I'm a fool, but I'll love you dear Until the day I die Now and then there's a fool such as I

I believe I began listening to slim Whitman in the fifties....he was sensational than, and I still think he is great. His falsetto was as pure and clean as Roy obison's or k. D. Lang....sing on guys.
Back after a year to listen again, just great, like China Doll. Yea, that was in 1959 when I first heard these tunes, still going to College. Time certainly did not wait, but his songs remain as good as ever. Then many yrs later I heard Jennifer Rush, [Power of Love] by that time I was a psych. nurse. To-day, 29.4.17, I can only think back of how my life went with sad and happy moments and wonder if friends and fam. members, are still alive. Byond the sunset is where we'll meet again some day, fingers crossed.
I stump across this going through my TH-cam home page, and I'm glad that I did. I have not heard this song in many years, it's a very beautiful song. Thank you. God Bless You.

JUST SO MUCH BEAUTIFUL🌹VELVET🌈
His Rose Marie and China Doll are just as great , a lively man and singer. RIP Slim !
+Su Ann Lee :: SO TRUE, I agree with you. I was 15 when I first heard those tunes, many years ago. It gave me a "boost" to learn to play the guitar.

Big hit for Hank Snow. Wonderful rendition by Slim.

Slim does it best.
Saw Slim in Toowoomba Queensland in the seventies- a truly wonderful voice
A voice.. so distinct.. so haunting..

Amazing singer , so lucky to have seen him live on tour in the UK at Birmingham about 1970 ish
I can understand every word he sings, unlike today's mumbling pitiful excuses for singers.
TOP fm4!
A Classic!
Hermosa canción,me transmite mucha paz :)
La versión original es de Hank Snow otro artista country. th-cam.com/video/hn-7xSLppuw/w-d-xo.html
I like this song the way Slim sing it, but Elvis version is just GREAT!!!
+Rodolfo Perez Slim was the best in his day Rodolfo...clean living guy he was..
Bobby Helms is great too!
Elvis' version was more of an aggressive approach while this just touches the heart deep but that don't mean I love Elvis less I love them both.
I am a big Elvis fan, however, my favourite version of this song is by Leroy Van Dyke....
THIS IS REALLY GREAT WHAT VOICE HE HAD WOW. ALSO HANK SNOW DID A NICE COVER OF THIS IT WAS GOOD
Who knows who’ll see this in years to come. It’s weird to think how many people, so different will.
Good is good, but best is best ,and this is it.
The voice looks like the Tiny Tim's
HIS MUSIC WAS SO GOOD IT SAVED EARTH FROM A MARS ATTACK.
Get your girl, grab a burger, drink a coke, listen to old timey songs and feel good ✌
Songs had meaning back then,
