Implement what you learnt here (Gamak | Pt Rajan and Sajan Mishra) - th-cam.com/video/hfNg9IB1D9A/w-d-xo.html

Wow, nice explanation. I should take inspiration from you and also do my duty as a student of music to spread this artform.

Thank you for the amazing video. May God bless you. Did not know what Gamak was before

Interesting.! I am more of a Carnatic singer where Gamaks (or Gamakas as we call it) are used in more complex ways. Most of the ragas have a heavy usage of gamaka which actually define the raga bhaava. I wanted to listen to more complicated gamak usages in Hindustani and would be great if anyone can point me to some of those. Thank you.!

This video was awesome! It helped me view gamak in ways that are really helpful in my study of sitar and gayaki ang. I look forward to the next in the series.

Not there yet to be giving classes Simranjeet. Sometime soon in the future.
However there are a lot of good gurus who teach online :)

    Hey RIshabh sir
I just want to say thanks so much for making these useful videos! I'm from India only, and I've been playing the tabla for around 4 years, but I know next to nothing about the raag section of the music haha, I only know about the rhythms.
I just wanted to ask, how does one "get into" the scene of indian classical music? so far ive only been going to classes and learning to play kaaydas and stuff but i still dont know what exactly an actual tabla player does, you know? do you have any tips on where i could learn that stuff, and find people to play with to practice stuff like saath-sangeet?
    much appreciated,
    Thanks

      Hey.
Here are a few things that you can do-
      1. If you're in school or college, spread the word that you know how to play the tabla. Begin accompanying fellow instrumentalists and vocalists on the tabla for inter school/college competitions.
      2. Watch performances on TH-cam of great masters. You'll get an idea (and more) as to what is it that a tabla player exactly does during a concert. (Notice the chemistry bw the two for eg., when they together land at the Sam or are engaging in some Layakari)
      3. Watch interviews. If you don't want to watch long ones, Shakhsiyat by RSTV is a good series to begin with.
      Hope this helps🙏

Try learning semi classical if you're not into pure classical. However knowledge of placement of swars/notes is important for semi classical/western.

Basically you are creating a gap by emphasizing on first swar. Eg 'A'aa 'A'aa 'A'aa.... ???
