      @@SageHills Couple of quick things. If you are doing a new hole through the firewall make sure you get a big enough opening. Mine was to small and i have fought it all the way. Trying to get the rubber grommet to stay in has been a challenge. Using a Power Probe 3 and votmeter to make sure your old lights and switches are working instead of just assuming you screwed up something up with the wiring. Unless you are taking the gas tank out use the old wire to pull the new through the bottom of the cab because is almost impossible to do after.

    • @Keixer
      @Keixer ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SageHills also if you have the gauge panel out sitting on something like say a plastic bucket while working on it and nothing works , when you turn the switch on don't panic. It is probable just not grounded like it would be when bolted back in the dash. The took me a depressingly long time to figure out.

      @@williamjohnson1126 no problem TBI stands for throttle body injection which was popular in the late 80s early 90s. Since you know it’s carbureted then that answers that question. This means the cars motor will be easier to wire up and won’t need a control module for the motor. If you have a simple ignition system HEI distributor for an example then you’ll be able to buy a generic harness like Haywire 21 Circuit and wire it up with that

    • @WiredCustomsSpeedShop
      @WiredCustomsSpeedShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a lot of good places you can put a ground, the biggest thing to keep in mind is to make sure there isn’t any paint on the ground, I usually sand each ground with 80 grit sand paper before screwing it in, any of the das support brackets are always good, I like to use the column support brackets, any brackets in support of the brake is always good, I like to use self tapping screws for grounds, so you could put those practically anywhere, as long as you aren’t punching a hole through the firewall or cal to let in water, sometime behind the kick panel is also good

      @@WiredCustomsSpeedShop so I had my car broken into it's a swap 454 super charge on a 81 monte carlo msd coil box nd disteubiator all kind of wires were cut in the in that area nd ofcourse tail lights its a complete mess would that require a complete rewire nd how much would something like that cost ? Is this a dumb question I'm trying to find the best quality job nd want to pay the right price for it

      @@teekambino it all depends on how bad it is and how old the wiring is, if you are capable of figuring out which wire is which I would fix the wires and drive it, otherwise if you pay for install you’re looking at $1000 ballpark range at a legitimate shop, depending what type of vehicle it is and it’s accessories
