you cant call people out for not peddling on their e-bike when you're on a motorcycle.

Well, kinda. The laws in the early 70s defined a moped as having 50cc, and pedals. That's it. No power restrictions :-) This produced bikes like the FS1E, and AP50, which could do 50mph out of the box (and of course you could get 2 stroke tuning bits for them)
The UK sh4t itself, and revised the law to have a 30mph (ish) restriction, but the pedal requirement was dropped. This resulted in bikes like the MT50, AR50, RD50 etc, which were motorcycles in all but name, with a clutch and 5 gears etc, but legal for 16 year olds. These bikes were called 'sixteener specials' . There as no requirement for CBT or anything, you could just buy one and ride it on L plates until you were 17, then get a 125 and ride that on L plates. Usually straight into a hedge, which is when the learner laws changed in the early 80s.

Good video. I completely agree with your views on ebikes and most people driving them. Unfortunately I live in a country with many bicycles and drive a normal bicycle to and from work every day. Imagine the jolly time I have on a daily basis, trying to overtake fat latte moms, too busy to watch the road and if you dare giving them a ring, you're in great trouble. Your vlog style video reminds me of a certain Baron. Subbed!

Well big praise indeed, thanks! Im a big fan of cycling, an incredibly cheap mode of transport that can also keep you in good health. Ebikes just make people lazier.

Just one thing, I have a fast e-Scooter in Italy, I go out in full gear, Full face motor helmet, motor jacket and so on, I think it is a matter of respect, I needed something that could move with the traffic which is much safer when u have to ride on the road, I still drop my speed and avoid aggressive moves when in the bike lane, if everyone cares, e-bikes and e scooters are lovely.
My solution would be this, limit the scooter and e-bike speeds to 25 kmh / 15mph but don't make fast stuff illegal, look at them as a motorcycle, get them numbered and ensured and make sure that the people that use them have a driving licence.

That's pretty much my thoughts as well. They are supposed to be limited in the UK to 15.5 MPH but they often aren't. So you have people doing 30mph plus without a license, insurance or any safety gear.

They are just scattered all over the place. It used to be pretty bad with piles of them on the pavement. I guess there is someone in a van driving round picking them up now lol.

i agree with the insurance with ebikes because they are on road, i would love to ride a moped or proper motorbike but i have a condition where i cant have a cbt or licence, so ebike is my only option, im 10 stone slim build, now people will say "well if you have this condition you shouldnt be on ebike", on a ebike i can get of the road and to somewhere safe off the road and onto a pavement walking with it to find a place to sit down, for some people it is their only option, im not defending ebike users because some are absolute dickheads that use the ebikes for crime and other stupid shit that give ebike users a bad name, but again for some people it the only thing that they can use to do normal day to day things, people that are above 50+ but cant pedal a bike as good as they use to but a ebike will help with pedalling for them

@@SageGaming49 I watched a video a while ago about people with disabilities wanting to use electric scooters and such to assist with mobility. That's where I think they should be, as an aid and not something lazy people use.
As an option that isn't as bulky as an electric wheel chair or buggy I think they are perfect.
Just to add I am currently disabled, I injured my right knee which means I struggle to walk without pain. I say currently because it may get better or it may not. Cycling can be painful but I still do it since it's good exercise. So I'm not just a random guy moaning. Well I am but you know what I mean.

@@SloboloboVFR oh yeah completely agree if someone doesnt really have a good reason to own a ebike, they are pretty much using it to joyride around or to get from a to b, they should be a aid like you stated taxed insurance everything a road vehicle needs, and same here im not some random guy trying to cause a argument, just a different side of the story i suppose haha, hope your knee gets better though mate, sucks when something like that happens

bullsh.t i have astma and it's very ''hilley'' where i live , i can't afford cars motorcycles etc and a moped is limited to the same speed as the e-bikes why should i spend money on gas and oil, tyres that costs trible the amount compaired to bycycle tires when i can use my e-bike?
just because u can afford mc and/or cars dosen't mean everyone else can

Triple? 50cc mopeds start at 500 quid and go twice as fast. If your ebike does 30mph it's illegal and just be licensed and taxed.
Edit, I was mainly thinking about your argument on cost but I actually checked and apparently cardio is very beneficial to people with asthma.

Taxed insured road legal, a test is required and minimum safety equipment must be worn. Yeah that sounds good to me.
