You’re absolutely right Dunk I’m 57 and I haven’t ever seen that sort of Digs at a manager. I think FSG have decided Klopp had become to powerful and was asking for players that they’d never sanction. I think things went wrong with the Caicedo debacle. Do you remember when in the press conference they announced they’d had a bid accepted and Klopp looked across to someone involved in LFC to ask if he could announce it, we all know what happened after that but I think embarrassing Klopp like that soured relations, I may be wrong but it looked awfully uncomfortable at the time. Do you recall that presser?

Liverpool FC behind the scenes has become toxic. FSG is a total embarrassment allowing Edward's and his press goons slate our boss that turned the club from 10 quid to 4 billion delivering and challenging for the last years. YNWA Jürgen.

We all thought it was weird that John Henry made no comments about Klopp leaving, so FSG are clearly pissed at Jurgen. Joyce is Michael Edward's lapdog. Edwards and Klopp also reportedly 'fell out' over a 'power struggle'. So I think this is FSG and Edwards using Joyce to defame Klopp. They need to be careful though because this fan base is loyal to the manager... I expect it will get worse over the summer and into next season.
Worse still if Slot doesn't work out. The narrative then will be, "We tried to fix the mess Klopp left us in, guys..." They'll fire shots at a guy who isn't even there to defend himself and it will backfire big time. We all know Klopp is too loyal, but some things should be kept behind closed doors. Gossip and backstabbing is not the way LFC operates...

It will be interesting in time will Klopp spill the beans in a TV interview or book in his own views about his last few years at club compared to his first few years. Which was much way fun as a fan, but last few few years, it's been like soap opera behind the scenes. I do think Klopp's loyalty with certain players has made us stand still than moving forward as a team of winning more League & Champions League's with this moneyball way under this ownership which has worked, but when Klopp got his so-called "power" we've been standing still and it has effected the team, but Klopp himself this past year look at his press conference's. We were all saying the man looks annoyed with journalists asking simple questions towards him and key people leaving us behind the scenes thinking a new ownership could be coming in, but in fact it was probably Klopp power.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle tbh. Could klopp have been less loyal? Yes. To be winners you need to be ruthless. Extending and imaging Henderson and Milner cost us. Has Edward’s made bad signings? Also yes, no statistical model has a 100% real world success rate.
What both sides are missing is that we were at our best when both Klopp and Edward’s worked together and had the same views. Neither Klopp or Edwards’s having all the power is a good thing, it needs to be shared with no one pulling rank.
Ultimately, Edwards’s and co will have no where to hide anymore so it’s exciting to see if they’re really as good as believed. If they fuck up, they can’t blame it on anyone.

So Jurgen's being called out for being loyal? What an awful trait to have eh. Some of those players could've stayed on for 12 months, not all, while the new players came in, team spirit is massive to a squad. Jeez, not like the club couldn't afford it. This just shows me there's a lack of loyalty from the higher ups and the bottom line is the only thing that matters. Great way to run a business but maybe not so much a winning football club. The absolute worst is sly digs at the leaving manager, who has brought so much to that club, even before he's out the door.

Yes I hope that the new structure in the club brings more success, but I honestly believe, if FSG had backed him, we could have had Haaland, Bellingham and M'Bappe at the club. Dunk, I don't agree with FSG slagging off of the best manager we've had for the last 30 years and most successful we've had in my life time.
I think Klopp had had enough of the FSG BS.
However now he's announced he's leaving, I think it's sensible to get the best structure around the new manager possible. To avoid unnecessary poor transfer business like other clubs have done when they've backed new managers and subsequently had to sell players at significant losses as soon as the manager is moved on. They've got to keep LFC best interests at heart and in time Slott will build the trust and respect of the potential 'transfer committee' if he's successful in the same way that Klopp has. But the FSG model doesn't allow for us to gamble on players that the manager preferred when the stats or money doesn't add up. Salah is the perfect example of someone who wasn't Klopp's first choice.
I think the best way to ensure we are successful is effective transfer business and then it's up to the Manager to get the best of the players. Klopp has made world beaters out of a number of average players and that's why it's embarrassing that FSG are chucking out sly digs at him.

  • @whipsywoo

Your neighbour is barking, Dunk. Anyway, we all know the backroom boys would like the voice Klopp has in front of the cameras. Even though Hughes and Edwards have got more power the new coach is no mug. He'll have a season to weigh things up, and if he does well Hughes and Edwards will have to balance the stat stuff with the real stuff. It's the relationship between Hughes and Edwards and FSG that will be interesting and explain more about what is going on back stage. Supporters will know where the real blame lies now about incoming and outgoing players. Slott will be clear of that narrative. Clive

He said that he'd wanted to sign Endo in the past, but the club thought he was too old. That's not the original Klopp we know of, wanting 'the last say on all transfers'. Someone wasn't handing over full control, in my opinion. I dont sense a good time on the horizon for FSG. YNWA Klopp

The same applies to over playing players that probably needed a rest, or at least a stint on the bench, but Klopp was just too loyal to his favourites. I desperately don't want him to go, but he's leaving us in a far better position than when he joined and he'll always have genuine supporters love for what he's achieved with so much stacked against him.

Klopp was trying to force the Jabb on fit to the bones young Men. I can imagine He was not good to work with. The King is unalived, Long Live the King.

Overall Klopp has been a good fit at LFC but Liverpool should not be turned into a retirement home .. loyalty has a limit .

I 100% believe Klopp leaving is down to FSG. We will rue losing a legendary manager and who would have won so much more under ambitious owners

Even though I personally disagree with some of klopps decisions recently, the way this stuff is being put out there is bang out of order. It's obviously not being leaked for a laugh, there's clear intent behind it. Just not appropriate especially in his last week at the club #DKB

It's bloody childish. Everybody has made mistakes in their lives but it is petty to start chirping about stuff that's happened in the past, rightly or wrongly. Leave it alone and move on is what the club should do.

We are just customers to fsg. They have no personal vested interest in winning trophies its just the annual financial turnover they care about. You dont change your mind from extending a 3 yr extended contract after 6 months and at the beginning of a season. Plus that super league fiasco, then Cassimiro. 53 yrs supporting LFC. Havnt spent a penny since New Balance went. And have you seen the next season's ugly Nike shirt offering. Off cuts of previous shirts. And another increased price. It's too expensive if your not an L3 supporter. £300+ for a disabled seat. And that's if your lucky there is one available. Whole league is corrupt.

Some youtube uploaders believe edwards is the second coming of christ, im not too sure. I don't like the fact jurgen has left and the fact edwards is back, does he think he can do a better job then klopp? Maybe he thinks he can.

Joel should be offered a new contract? If it it concluded that he has fully recovered from the ACL. It would take time for him to fully recover and get up to speed. However. VVD recovered so has msny other. It maybe a period of timem till he gsined full speed. But i bid you this to consider. Does he suddenly become a crap player. Analyse his performances and contributions. V Who is a better ptoven fit.

Klopp is a player's manager. Yes there are flaws with that at times but it is also how he had a lesser talented squad competing with much stronger squads during his time here. It is the business people in the club that are supposed to balance that, so these digs make no sense.
The biggest issue with the likes of Edwards is he overestimates his importance to Klopp's success and underestimates how necessary Klopp was in maximising the talent that was in the squad.
Simply put Klopp could be a success with numerous different sporting directors. Edwards on the other hand would not be as successful without a Klopp. I don't even think Pep would have had Klopp's success on the lfc budget, even if he was working with Edwards and his "dream team".
We saw how bitchy things around the club were when BR was manager. By the time he left the club was in shambles from leaks to the media of divides in the club. It's not looking good that that bitchiness has already returned before Klopp has even left imo. The pettiness is leaving a bad taste.

Does not bother me about the digs at Klopp lets see where LFC go after the magician leaves under these owners LFC will be a 6 to 8 league club and done better because of klopp and with all his mistakes because he is human i will never have a go at him and will always thank him for what he done and the head coach is a con have said before a coach has nothing to do with the buying or selling he just coaches the players he gets any one thinks different just put into search difference between manager and coach
