James thanks for the shout out on 1000mods! Glad you're enjoying them , also your technic's are very helpful when I'm in a rut. Keep the vids coming brother.✌🤘🎸
James, I already had a plan to order your 2 books. Just haven't had a chance yet. A thing I know is using either chord tones or you could use scale tones in your licks to lead to your next chord. So playing your G7 since you're playing with a Major 3rd B play a lick ending on the B tone that's a half step from C to you start a lick with for your C7 chord. You could also use the G tone to your A tone for the C7 chord using that G minor 6 pentatonic scale. Play a lick over your G7 chord ending on the F tone & start a lick on the E tone when you switch to the C7 chord.
Hey Kevin! Yes, all that kind of stuff works great as you say. Small 'steps' to connect the notes in one chord to the notes in the next always creates a very smooth sound. here's another thing to try: the 3rd of G7 (I) goes down a semi-tone to become Bb, the b7th of C7 (IV). The b7th of G7 (F) goes down a semitone to become the 3rd of C7 (chord IV). This is another idea worth exploring in both your chord work and your soloing. It makes your licks really sound like the chord progression. Have fun! James
